Mastering Dark Magic – Chapter 43

“The hostages? I already saved them, you know? They’re out of the range of Sloth’s influence, but you still haven’t noticed.”

“Wha-!?”

The wolf, who had been holding down the three family members, was kicked away by Rosette. She then used magic to put the frightened trio to sleep and encased them in a defensive barrier.
Breaking through Rosette’s defense, which was focused solely on protection, was nearly impossible, even for Victoria with her sword. Therefore, no one could lay a hand on them anymore.

On top of that, conveniently for Victoria, reinforcements were arriving.

“Hey, Victoria. You were overwhelming Mizuha and me, but I’d appreciate it if you didn’t struggle so much against such small fry.”

“That’s right. Well, I guess it couldn’t be helped with hostages involved. Victoria-san, you did your best alone, didn’t you? Now, let’s fight together! Or… do you want to rest?”

Everyone came.
How reliable they are.
After all, being with everyone is the best.

I had forgotten for a long time. Why I was walking the path of a ‘vampire hunter vampire’.
Because I didn’t want to be alone. Because I didn’t want the people I love to disappear—.
It was such an old resolve that it had slipped my mind.
I had mistaken the pretense that vampire problems should be solved by vampires as my true intention.

“Fufu… you jest, Mizuha-san. Who do you take me for? I am Victoria of the Silver Flash. There’s no way I would just rest while everyone else is fighting!”

Victoria reached into her abdomen and pulled out the wolf. It had been biting into her internal organs, so some of them spilled out along with it, but she didn’t care.

“Impressive. That’s the Victoria I know. I’d like to beat Victoria as a swordsman someday, but for now, let’s join forces.”

With that, Akito offered his fingertip to Victoria’s mouth. There was a small wound at the tip, and blood was dripping from it.

“Drink. If you’re going to strike, it should be with everything you’ve got.”

Blood.
Victoria was a vampire, but she didn’t particularly like the act of drinking blood.
Of course, she had to drink it to move, so she procured blood through the Night Watch Organization.
But even then, she would put the blood in a container like a cup. She hated drinking it directly, as it felt like she was preying on something.
Yet, the blood Akito offered intensely stimulated Victoria’s Blood Thirst.

The other day, she had tasted Akito’s blood during the match.
It was undoubtedly the most delicious blood Victoria had ever drunk.
It was unbelievably rich, containing dark magical power.
She could never forget it.
If she was offered something like that, her reason would crumble.

Her lips touched Akito’s fingertip. She put it in her mouth. She licked it with her tongue. She mixed the blood with her saliva.
With each of these actions, a current ran through Victoria’s entire body.

And an unprecedented power welled up within her. The depths of her body were hot. She felt like she would explode if she didn’t release this heat soon.

“Akito-kun, Victoria-san. Use me. Let’s go all out. Even if he’s reborn, let’s show him such a difference in power that he’ll never think of doing evil again!”

Mizuha activated her saint’s power and transformed her body into a sword. Its hilt was grasped by Akito’s hand. It was a firm and strong grip, yet gentle.
Akito and Mizuha could be friends. They could even be family. But no one could come between the two of them. It was a scene that made you believe that.

“Yes, I understand. Let’s combine our strength.”

Victoria placed her hand over Akito’s hand, which was holding the sword.

“Victoria-san. It’s understandable that you’re touching Akito-kun’s hand, but isn’t that a bit of an erotic way to touch him?”

Even though she had become a sword, Mizuha’s voice could be heard. How was she talking without a mouth?

“Oh my. Isn’t it because Mizuha-san is always thinking about such things that it looks that way?”

“N-No, that’s not it!”

She was clearly flustered.
Thanks to that, Victoria was able to hide her own fluster.
The heat in her body from drinking Akito’s blood.
Their compatibility was too good.
She had heard from other vampires that if a vampire had good blood compatibility with someone of the opposite sex, their physical compatibility was also good.
Even if she tried not to be conscious of it, the depths of her stomach were hot, and she couldn’t help but be aware of it.
She knew that Akito and Mizuha were deeply in love with each other. She had no intention of interfering.
This feeling of unease was just a passing fancy. It wouldn’t benefit anyone if she showed it. So she hid it.

“Y-You guys, what is that magical power…! A two-on-one, no, a three-on-one!? Controlling such vast magical power… is that even possible!? Stop, please stop! If I take that, it won’t be just regeneration! I’ll disappear without a trace of ash…!”

“That’s why it’s good, isn’t it? You’ve lived thinking you were an invincible predator, right? Experience firsthand that there’s always someone stronger before you die.”

“Fufufu. I’ve thought this before, but Akito is surprisingly aggressive despite his looks. I don’t dislike that!”

The sword was swung down.
The magical power of three people was compressed and turned into black, white, and red waves, which attacked Robert.
Of course, he was obliterated without a trace.
His wolf transformation also disappeared, leaving only a Blood Crystal Stone behind.

Later, Rosette’s investigation revealed several things.
The occurrence of a strange disease, suspected to be caused by a curse, and the movements of Robert Herman overlapped.
However, this was not always the case.
There were many cases where he did not cause curses and purely treated injuries and illnesses in the area.
Robert’s activities spanned several countries and many years, making it difficult to track him completely.
However, he seemed to have faithfully kept his vow to “save a thousand people for every one he kills.”
