Okay, so after indulging in some self-satisfaction this morning by delivering thank-you gifts to the people who had helped me before and making a donation to the orphanage, I took a nap. Now, as evening approaches, I’m getting ready to head out into the city. I’ve already proven that I can climb the stone walls surrounding the city. All that’s left is to wait for it to get dark enough to conceal my form.
Soon enough, the sun set, and when it was dark enough, I scaled the stone wall.
(Alright, where should I go today?)
The east doesn’t have many strong monsters, so that’s a pass. The west has the entrance to the Underground Labyrinth, and it’s likely to be crowded, so that’s a pass too. That leaves north or south… I went south last time, so let’s try north today. Weber Town is located north of the Royal Capital, and since I came straight to the Royal Capital from there, I thought I’d explore it in a bit more detail.
I walked along the road towards Weber for about two days, then entered the forest that spread out to the east. As expected, there were a lot of monsters out at night. I defeated snakes, wolves, and other monsters that attacked me, thinking I was just a cat, and continued deeper into the forest.
It was a random forest, but as I got closer to the center, the monsters gradually increased in rank. Is this a good find? I just took down a C-rank Angry Boar. I heard its meat is quite delicious, so I’ll bring it to Ochcho-san’s shop next time. I don’t know if the Orc Tavern serves meat other than Orc, though.
Anyway, at this rate, there might be even stronger monsters in the center. I’m glad I found a place where I can level up more easily than in the Underground Labyrinth. It’s a bit far, but considering the hassle of going in and out of the Underground Labyrinth, this place seems easier to visit.
When I entered the Royal Capital, my level was 30, but after destroying the Orc settlement, it rose to 36. If I level up here for two or three days, I might be able to evolve.
I’ll be away from the Royal Capital for a bit, but I’ve decided to level up here until my next evolution.
“Mew~”
Two days after entering the forest northeast of the Royal Capital, I shot a C+ rank Evil Bear in the head with a Stone Bullet I call “Mew,” and my level rose to 40.

Oh, it seems I can evolve at level 40 as expected. Alright, let’s head back to the shack in the Royal Capital and evolve right away.
I hurried back faster than I came, so I arrived at the Royal Capital in one day. It was conveniently after sunset, so I infiltrated the Royal Capital through the wall on the slums side.
I immediately went into the attic of the shack and started preparing for evolution.
Now, what will be my next evolution…
□ Please select your evolution path.
・Hunter Cat
・Big Cat
・Assassin Cat
I had checked while traveling, but there are three evolution paths this time.
The first, Hunter Cat, increases attack power and agility compared to the current Killer Cat, making it stronger in physical combat.
The second, Big Cat, greatly increases HP and defense, making it a durable type.
The third, Assassin Cat, greatly increases agility and seems to learn concealment-related skills.
Since I’ve been evolving more towards magic, Hunter Cat is out of the question. Similarly, Big Cat wouldn’t suit my fighting style. Besides, getting bigger is a bit…
So, I had already decided that my evolution path would be Assassin Cat. I also wanted concealment-related skills.
(Alright, let’s evolve!)
I selected Assassin Cat and started the evolution. The attic of the shack was enveloped in light…
After the evolution, I first checked my appearance. My fur was completely black, and the stripes were gone. The size was almost the same as the Killer Cat, and it still looked cute, just black. Good, good, I can live in the Royal Capital like this.
Satisfied with my appearance, I checked my status next.

Hoh. Assassin Cat is a C-rank. The initial stats are also quite high. The defense is a bit low, but the other stats are close to a max-level Thunder Beetle. Even at level 1, I won’t be outmatched by the average monster.
And as I expected, I was able to acquire the Presence Concealment and Magic Concealment skills. On top of that, I even got the Status Concealment skill. This will make it easier to enter and exit the Underground Labyrinth and the city.
(Alright, let’s try out Status Concealment next.)
I tried out the Status Concealment skill, and it was so fun to freely manipulate my stats that I got completely absorbed in it.
(Is this good enough?)

Fufufu. With this, I can deceive even those with Appraisal. The Status Concealment skill level is 15 from the start, so I should be able to deceive them unless something drastic happens. The anxiety of my true identity being discovered should be greatly reduced now.
In a good mood, I went around distributing more thank-you gifts than usual, since it had been five days. I secretly left gifts at Ochcho-san’s place and at the orphanage, making sure no one saw me. The only place I showed myself was at the fruit vendor’s, but it seems she recognized me as the same person… no, the same cat. She said the feeling when she petted me was the same, and that there aren’t many cats that suddenly bring Leengo. However, she wasn’t that surprised, since some cats change their fur as they grow up.
Well, it’s not like my true identity was revealed, so I guess it’s okay.
About 200 days have passed since I was reincarnated into this world. I thought I had to become strong to survive, so I desperately evolved. Thanks to that, I think I’ve become quite strong. I’ve been able to enter human cities since I took this form, so maybe it’s okay to relax a little.
Since I’m a cat now, I think I’ll enjoy a carefree cat life for a while.
