The journey to subjugate the Demon Lord started in the worst possible way.
Even though the goal is to save the world, I’m stuck babysitting the Selfish Prince.
At this rate, I won’t be able to strengthen myself at all.
After reporting the subjugation to the Guild, we decided to get an Inn.
Then, the Selfish Prince started making unreasonable demands again.
“Alright! Let’s stay at the most luxurious hotel!”
“Wait, wait, wait, wait a minute! Where are you going to get that kind of money!? Do you even have any money?”
The most luxurious hotels cost at least 10 Gold Coins.
Commoners don’t usually stay there; it’s mostly nobles and wealthy merchants who stay there when sightseeing.
The average annual income for a commoner is roughly 30 Gold Coins, so you can imagine how expensive the hotel is.
“I didn’t bring any money. But, didn’t you guys receive a reward from my father the other day? Since you have so much money, let’s splurge!”
“No, no, no! That’s our personal money, so we can’t use it as a party! Besides, we can’t spend that much money on an Inn. We should spend as much money as possible on items and equipment like Potions!”
I appealed to him like that, but it doesn’t seem to resonate with him.
“Are you telling me to stay in a normal Inn!?”
Well, since you’re participating in this journey, you can’t live the same way you used to.
There’s no way you can live in a luxury hotel every day.
“No way! We’re going to the most luxurious hotel!”
In the end, we ended up staying at a luxury hotel that cost 15 Gold Coins. I was forced to pay for it too.
It’s just accumulating stress…
When we reluctantly tried to stay at the luxury hotel, the prince demanded a single room.
It’s already expensive as it is, so we can’t afford to prepare separate rooms for everyone.
Elena, Cliff, and I were supposed to share a room…
But then,
“Are you trying to exclude me!?”
He got angry.
It’s a pain, but Elena and I shared a room, and Cliff and the prince got single rooms.
“Sorry, Cliff, it turned out like this…”
“It’s okay. Don’t worry about it.”
After the prince put his luggage in the hotel, he headed to where the high-paying stores were located.
By the way, he took 10 Gold Coins from me. I really wish he would stop.
Additional explanation:
There are mainly 5 types of coins in this world:
Small Copper Coin: Equivalent to 1 yen
Medium Copper Coin: Equivalent to 10 yen
Copper Coin: Equivalent to 100 yen
Silver Coin: Equivalent to 1000 yen
Gold Coin: Equivalent to 100,000 yen
A low-level Adventurer earns about 10 Silver Coins a day by defeating about 10 Goblins, so their daily wage is about 10,000 yen. A Rank D Adventurer earns about 40 Gold Coins a year on average, so that’s about 4 million yen.
Farmers earn about 30 Gold Coins a year, so their annual income is 3 million yen.
When we defeated Tect, we received 500 Gold Coins, so that’s about 50 million yen, and when we defeated Nedria, it was 2000 Gold Coins, so that’s 200 million yen.
We split the Nedria reward, so it’s a little over 60 million yen per person, right?
