Chapter 4: I Can’t Help But Grin
To begin with, I myself had occasionally thought, ‘This face looks familiar,’ but it always felt strange.
There were times when I looked in the mirror and felt like the reflection was me, yet not me; like I was living in a different world entirely separate from this one. Sometimes, thinking that way felt so natural that I didn’t even question it.
Later, I would wonder why I had thought such things, and why I hadn’t even questioned those thoughts, accepting them as natural.
However, I now understood all those mysteries.
Although I don’t understand why this happened, it seems I’ve been reborn in this world as the character I meticulously raised in the VRMMO I played in my previous life, Legend of Yggdrasil.
In my previous life, this VRMMO was the only thing I could call a hobby. I was so engrossed in it that I spent almost my entire salary on Microtransactions for this game.
So much so that, for me, this game felt like a world more important than reality itself.
Perhaps I died from a heart attack or something while playing the game, or maybe other factors led to my reincarnation in another world. But now, such things are trivial matters; they don’t matter anymore.
Whatever the cause of my reincarnation, the important thing is that I’ve been reborn as the character I raised in Legend of Yggdrasil.
Ah, just thinking that I might truly possess the abilities shown in these Stats makes me want to grin uncontrollably.
But, not yet.
I need to thoroughly confirm whether I truly possess the abilities shown in these Stats, and whether I can actually activate my various Magic and Skills. Otherwise, it would be ridiculous to get carried away, go beat up the bastards who’ve mocked me all this time, only to find out I can’t use any Magic or Skills at all.
If I’m going to do this, I have to do it right, or else I’ll just look like a fool, won’t I?
In that case, the first thing I need to do is verify whether these Stats are real.
And so, suppressing the urge to test things out immediately, I waited for school to end.

“This spot should do.”
The current time is two in the morning.
I slipped out of my family home and came to the academy’s Training Grounds.
At this hour, there shouldn’t be anyone around. Even if someone did see me, it would likely only be one or two people at most. If my abilities work, I can just capture and silence them. If my abilities don’t work, then being seen isn’t a problem anyway, so I can just ignore them.
