My Dungeon My Life – Chapter 130

Grave of Death ⑥ – Rest in Peace.

I was emotionally exhausted from everything, so we decided to take a short break.
During the break, I learned about the situation. First off, we were apparently inside a stone coffin. Or rather, a part of one.
They said they entered through a crack and found nothing inside.

I had defeated that Saturnus. But there wasn’t just one Saturnus.
There were many more deeper inside, and they swarmed out.

Mr. Agaro took down about two of them, and the Witch defeated one.
While that was happening, Juicy carried me.

They were focused on saving me, so they don’t know what happened to the Koon Hunt’s Hired Pups.
However, Mr. Agaro said that when he checked, he didn’t see any bodies that looked like theirs.

They must have escaped safely. I want to believe that.
Also, the Saturnus I defeated had a Treasure Chest.

Inside that Treasure Chest was one of those Triangular Prisms.
It was silver. Since it’s a different color, there must be more than one, right? Ah, I haven’t been collecting them.
I don’t really feel like collecting them, either. As proof, the Witch hasn’t mentioned it even once.

Besides, given the Witch’s personality, she probably has no intention of collecting them either.
I don’t want to, either. Collecting keys like that… I don’t like it.

But the Witch looks satisfied.

“Yes, yes, this is quite enough,” she says.

Holding the two Triangular Prisms, she has some kind of wicked smile on her face.
What exactly is ‘enough’? I’m worried.
Speaking of worries, there’s something unfortunate.

My Elixir Knife was broken. I repeat. My Elixir Knife was broken.

The Elixir Knife I had been gripping tightly had almost no blade left.
It wasn’t snapped cleanly in half or broken somewhere in the middle.

It had broken off diagonally, a large chunk missing right from the base. The blade was almost entirely gone.
I couldn’t believe my eyes. I never thought this would break.

The Elixir Knife is coated with Elixir.
It’s coated with the highest grade of legendary panacea.
That’s why, for some reason, I thought it would absolutely never break. I believed it.

No, it can break. It does break. It’s a Knife, so of course it can break.
I shouldn’t have been overconfident. It breaks.

Suddenly, I remember that moment when I used [ Silent Move ].
Deep in my consciousness, I felt like I heard something snap.

That must have been the Elixir Knife.
It must have been. There’s no doubt.

“………………”

I quietly placed the broken Elixir Knife into the empty stone coffin.
For some reason, I felt glad this place was a necropolis.
Elixir Knife. Rest in peace.

Our break ended, and after leaving the stone coffin, we explored the Giants’ Necropolis.
Along the way, we fought the wretched remains of Yomido Followers and more Saturnus. This time, we defeated them by working together.

We also encountered a Necromancer accompanied by a black, three-eyed dog, and fought other enemies like gravekeepers.
I also saw a drifting woman. Was that the one from the passage? No way… Scary.

Finally, we reached the depths of the Giants’ Necropolis.
This was the Grave of the King of Death.

An exceptionally large, pure white stone coffin rested there.
It was the only coffin with a crest carved onto its surface.

It was the crest of an eight-eyed skull with sinister Horns.

In the center of the coffin’s lid, right in the middle of the crest, eight pedestals were arranged in an octagon.
Each pedestal had a triangular indentation. They were clearly sockets meant for the Triangular Prisms.

We stood at the center of the crest. This had to be the place.

“Oi. We only have two,” Agaro grumbled.
“Um, um, um, that’s not enough,” Juicy stammered.
“Witch. What do we do?” I asked.

We looked at the Witch.
The Witch first slotted the Triangular Prisms she had into two of the pedestals.
Naturally, since it wasn’t nearly enough, the pedestals didn’t react. She turned back to look at us.

“Well, well, Agaro should know this, yes? Dungeons sometimes have mechanisms like these, yes?”
“Yeah, they do. Usually the annoying kinds,” Agaro replied.
“Indeed, indeed. First off, why these mechanisms activate when you collect things, why they work, yes? The principle is based on matching conditions, yes? And these matching conditions can be broadly divided into two types, yes? Those are wavelength and weight.”

Juicy, Dagaa, and I tilted our heads simultaneously. Mr. Agaro took a swig from his Gourd Flask.

“Well then, well then, let’s start with the easier one, weight, yes? This means there’s a set weight required for activation, and if the total weight matches, the mechanism activates, yes?”
“Ah, so basically, if the total weight matches the required amount, it works, right?” Mr. Agaro said, sounding unsure.

“Yes, yes. That’s correct, yes?” the Witch confirmed.
“Oh, really?” Agaro sounded surprised.
“Um, um, Mr. Agaro, that’s amazing!” Juicy exclaimed.
“Well, yeah,” Agaro replied, puffing up slightly.
“By the way, is this mechanism based on weight?” I asked.

When I asked, the Witch grinned slyly.

“Mhm, mhm. It is a weight-based mechanism too, yes?”
“Too?” I questioned.
“Wafu?” Dagaa barked quizzically.
“Na?” Juicy tilted her head.
“Huh?” Agaro grunted.

We all tilted our heads again.
Mr. Agaro took another swig from his Gourd Flask. He sure drinks a lot.

“Next, next is wavelength, yes? Just like weight, if the wavelengths match, the mechanism activates, yes? Wavelength refers to waves. Hmm. To put it simply, yes? Things like sound or impact… the periodic length of such frequencies is called wavelength, yes?”
“…?” I was confused.
“Hm? Hmmm?” Agaro seemed lost.
“Wafu,” Dagaa whined softly.
“Na?” Juicy looked puzzled.

We all tilted our heads simultaneously again. Mr. Agaro tilted his head too.
Well, actually, I knew a little about it from my past life memories. I just couldn’t help tilting my head at the Witch’s poor explanation.

“Anyway, anyway. Mechanisms like this activate when the conditions are met and matched, yes? If you
That’s right. That was the church in the Abandoned Village past the bridge in That Forest.
