Chapter 128: The Evil God’s Revival
“Alright then, let’s go at the same time!”
The elf and the pierrot flanked Jabberwock, unleashing Meteor Fall from both sides. Empty potion bottles lay scattered beside Excel. So she chugged a Mana Potion!
“I won’t let you!”
I immediately threw up a Barrier to protect Jabberwock. Seeing this, Elixia grinned smugly.
“I thought you might do that. You were clearly choosing spells that wouldn’t hit this guy, after all.”
With only those words, Elixia changed the trajectory of the Meteor Fall she had cast, slamming it into the Barrier I had placed on the gate.
Craaaack!
She must have poured a considerable amount of magic into it; the Barrier I’d erected was destroyed. No, that wasn’t all. I had used too much magic power on the Barrier for Jabberwock.
Because of that, the first Barrier I’d put up had weakened.
Then, Excel also manipulated her giant meteorite, crashing it into the exposed Devil’s Gate.
“It’s comin’! It’s really comin’!!”
Damn it. My carelessness, thinking I’d made it in time, and my lack of knowledge about magic had been exploited, allowing the gate’s destruction. Combined with the previously destroyed Heaven’s Door, the Evil God’s seal would be broken.
Zokuri
A chill ran down my spine from the Malice overflowing from the broken gate. Even Jabberwock’s face seemed to pale somewhat.
Immediately, the snout of what looked like a giant snake emerged from the destroyed gate.
Kra-kooooom!
In that instant, the head of an unbelievably enormous snake… no, a colossal dragon, forcibly crawled out, destroying the area around the gate as it emerged.

This is bad. This is really, really bad.
The giant dragon’s head looked around, muttering something, and then its massive body rapidly shrank. A few seconds later, a serpent dragon about 20 meters long was coiled up, sitting imposingly.
Its Scales shone dark green. It had a pair of large wings. It lacked hind legs, but its front legs possessed four large Claws. It glared this way with distinctive serpentine eyes, a red tongue flickering in and out of its mouth.
“Well done, my apostle.”
Surprisingly, it wasn’t Telepathy; Vritra’s heavy, dark voice echoed through the area.
“Not at all, Your Excellency. I merely fulfilled my duty.”
Excel knelt on one knee, bowing her head in response to the Evil God’s words.
“Now then, my apostle. What is it that you desire?”
Their conversation proceeded as if I wasn’t even there. However, Vritra’s pressure kept my feet rooted to the spot. Jabberwock was even trembling slightly.
“Vritra-sama. My desire is, now and forever, only one thing. To destroy the inferior races created by the damn goddess’s underlings.”
Whoa, seriously!? If that happens, won’t it just be you, Elixia over there, and Ochcho-san left in this world!? Oh, and maybe me too?
This situation has gotten seriously dangerous.
“Daughter of the Majin. What is your wish?”
Hey, hey, for an Evil God, you sure are generous. Are you planning to grant Elixia’s wish too!?
“Yes, Evil God-sama. My wish is for the revival of the Majin-sama.”
Wait, wait, wait! An Evil God alone is bad enough, but don’t tell me the Majin is going to be revived too?
“Hmm, with my power, the Majin’s revival is indeed possible, but it requires a vessel. Unlike myself, his physical body has been destroyed, after all.”
“I am aware. Please use this body as the vessel.”
What? It seems Elixia wants to revive the Majin even at the cost of her own body. This is troubling, though. I want to stop both of them somehow, but I don’t feel like I can win.
I took the chance to heal Jabberwock while they were talking, but he must have immediately grasped the situation, as he’s trembling near the entrance. I have to do something…
“I accept your resolve. I shall use my Skill to call forth the Majin’s soul. It will take some time, so restrain that insect over there and prevent it from interfering.”
Vritra ordered Excel without even looking at me, but…
“Hold on a sec, please! He’s definitely an insect to you, Vritra-sama, but for me, he might be just a liiiittle too much to handle!”
Damn it! That Excel! Lacking confidence, she’s desperately relying on the Evil God!
“Then, I shall summon my Clones. Their individual strength is somewhat lesser, but their numbers should pose no issue.”
“Thank ya kindly, Vritra-sama!”
That opportunistic Excel! Turning this way and giving me a thumbs-up!
Ignoring Excel, who was taunting me, Vritra muttered something. A black vortex appeared, and serpent dragons resembling smaller versions of Vritra began pouring out endlessly.

Oh? Oh ho? Could this actually be… a chance?
Mr. Evil God, even with your God’s Eye, you got cocky and didn’t bother appraising me, did you? With this, I might be able to turn things around in one go. The beginning is crucial for that. Alright, let’s get Jabberwock’s cooperation!
And so, betting the fate of this world, the joint struggle of myself and Jabberwock began.
