Chapter 132: Epilogue
A month has passed since I defeated the Evil God and the Majin. Oh, and since I gave that useless goddess a punch.
After that, I tried returning to the Kingdom’s Arena. Since the Martial Arts Tournament was in full swing, I was curious about what had happened.
However, by the time I got back, the Martial Arts Tournament had already ended. Well, of course, it wouldn’t continue after all that commotion, right? Still, a few days later, all the participants were gathered, and only the award ceremony was held.
Officially, I was declared the winner, receiving one Platinum Coin as prize money and the right to fight Taiyo. I accepted the Platinum Coin, but I respectfully declined the right to fight Taiyo. Taiyo seemed relieved too, so it all worked out.
As for the other participants, the two dragonkin turned out to be Excel’s companions, so they received their punishment and returned to their own country. There was talk of putting them in cages, but seeing how their pride had been completely shattered, it was decided they likely wouldn’t cause any more trouble. Indeed, after paying a hefty sum in reparations, they apparently scurried back home as if fleeing.
Hayato-san and Sayaka-san also returned to their respective countries. It seems the two of them had come partly to promote their own nations and managed to secure cooperative relationships with the Kingdom and the Republic. They’ve both become quite important.
Theodore and his older brother Darius also went back to their country. Apparently, back in the Empire, their eldest brother Gideon had been captured. His attempt to murder his two younger brothers was uncovered through an investigation by Captain Mild of the Imperial Magic Division, and he’s now said to be confined to a room in the castle.
Ignito-san returned to the Republic as well. Who else was there…? Ah, right, Guild Master Grandor-san was judged to still be capable of fighting and is apparently having a tough time being assigned difficult quests.
The biggest changes were for Aurora and Snow. When I evolved into the God of Time and Space, their Divine Protection seems to have been strengthened as well. Aurora became an Apostle of the God of Time and Space, and Snow’s species evolved into Ultimate Griffon.
And now, I’m here with Aurora at Ochcho-san’s ‘Orc Inn’.
When I met Aurora again at the tournament’s award ceremony, she thanked me for saving her and offered to treat me to a meal as thanks. It’s my first date ever, so I’m feeling a little giddy.
When I went to pick her up from the Empire using Spatial Transfer, Theodore was there for some reason, making a fuss about taking him along too, but Captain Mild dragged him back to the castle.
Apparently, he’s busy constantly yielding the Emperor’s throne back and forth with his brother Darius, and it’s become a regular pattern for him to come see Aurora only to be dragged back to the castle by Captain Mild.
And so, just a little while ago, Aurora and I transferred to the Royal Capital, and now we’re enjoying a yakiniku date here at the Orc Inn.
“So, Fog-san, what were you doing when you were younger? Ah, you’re still young now, but, um, how should I put it, your story before you became an Adventurer…”
Hehehe, Aurora is cute even when flustered.
“Traveling. I traveled to many different places.”
I’m not lying. Though I wasn’t in human form. I did consider just telling her everything, but I decided against it. My race is God of Time and Space. I can’t allow myself to love a mortal race.
Incidentally, my Skill “God’s Form” also had the ability to change my appearance as I wished.
So, I transformed into the forms of a Beetle, a Black Cat, and a Holy Dragon, and delivered revelations to the leaders of each respective group, telling them not to fight with other faiths.
For the Beetle, I appeared to Sheila of ‘Gale Wind’; for the Black Cat, to Maria at the Orphanage; and for the Holy Dragon, to Katarina. Speaking of which, Katarina really did establish something called the White Dragon Religion. Thanks to nearly all the followers of the previous Goddess Religion switching their allegiance to the White Dragon Religion, I was able to land that punch on the useless goddess. When I thanked Katarina briefly, she was so moved she fainted.
After enjoying the rest of my yakiniku date with Aurora, I sent her back to the Empire and returned to my home in the Republic. Relaxing slowly on the sofa, I pondered what to do next.
When I was reincarnated into this world, I set four major goals.
- Evolve and survive.
- Collect lots of Skills.
- Find other Reincarnators.
- Finally, live a slow life.
I’ve evolved many times and now I’m something like a God of Time and Space. There probably won’t be any further evolution, and it’s unlikely anything can harm me now.
I managed to collect plenty of Skills too, and I think there’s almost nothing I can’t do.
I met other Reincarnators like Hayato-san and Sayaka-san, and I still interact with them occasionally.
And the shops Kiri is running are doing well, and I’m enjoying my time with the friends I made in the Republic and at the Martial Arts Tournament. It’s truly a slow life.
Oh yeah, just the other day, I temporarily joined Eric’s party and explored an Underground Labyrinth (Dungeon) with them.
Unlike that time when they were cheating and almost died, they had grown stronger and had developed a proper mindset as Adventurers. I’m really glad I saved them back then.
While I was at it, I went to check on Excel, and she was crying and apologizing, saying, ‘I won’t do bad things anymore.’ Well, the goddess is around too, so maybe she’ll be okay?
So now, I don’t have any major goals left, and I’m feeling a slight sense of loss. Of course, the people of this world have helped me a lot, and many people believe in me, so I still want to contribute to the stability of this world, but that’s separate from my personal goals.
So, I thought about it.
Since I’ve become a God of Time and Space, I want to try challenging something only a God of Time and Space can do.
And after thinking it over, what I came up with was… ‘Finding a way back to my original world.’
As a god who governs time and space, I thought maybe, just maybe, I could return to Earth.
Contribute to the stability of this world, watch over Aurora until her final moments, and after that, return to my original world…
And then, I’ll turn my experiences into a Light Novel and publish it!
Having set this new goal, I fell asleep, satisfied.
“My Life in Another World Starts as Moss” – Complete
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
Started posting on July 23rd, about four and a half months ago. Ending with a total of 132 chapters.
Thank you so very much for sticking with this amateur’s clumsy work until the very end. It was originally planned to end at Chapter 98, but thanks to the excessive support from so many people, I decided to continue writing and was able to resolve the foreshadowing. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude.
(In my activity report, I plan to share a sentence I was thinking of including in the final chapter. Fans of the Naked Religion, please feel free to check it out tonight.)
Through this work, I learned various things as well. If I write a new work in the future, I hope to utilize this experience.
Finally, a little promotion…
This is the first work the author wrote. Looking back now, the writing is embarrassingly crude, but if you’d like, please read it to kill some time!
It’s an easy-to-read work filled with only my favorite tropes.
