I was shown into a private room that resembled a study. After being made to sit in a chair and waiting for a short while, Giltoa, who had left the room, returned.
“I’ve managed to contact Tephana. It seems you truly are her disciple.”
As he spoke, he sat down in the desk chair positioned in front of me.
“However, she stated that there should be no connection between you and Magdala. I’d like you to explain, in your own words, how you came to meet Magdala.”
The options “Speak” and “Don’t speak” appeared, so I chose the former.
“…I see. Wandering as a traveling apothecary, you say? I’ve heard such rumors from time to time, but none of them seemed credible. After all, she entered eternal slumber decades ago. Still, I wonder if I’m overthinking things, feeling a sense of unease, a certain precariousness about Giltoa-shi from this unbalanced deal.
