Chapter 54
Although his material gathering hadn’t been entirely without problems, Claude had returned safely and taken the materials to a blacksmith he favored.
“Claude-sama. Welcome. What can I do for you today?”
“I’ve obtained a large quantity of Lizardman hides, so I’d like to request them to be processed. First, please make one of each of these items.”
“Understood. I will deliver them to your residence once they are complete.”
“Also, I’d like you to make a spear and a sword with these ingots.”
“These are high-quality ingots. With these, I can make excellent weapons.”
Claude left the Lizardman hides and ingots, which were to be used as materials, in the blacksmith’s storehouse and then departed.
“Boss. This is quite a large haul of materials again. Being busy is good, but processing all of this will be tough.”
“It’s a request from the Marquis’s family, our valued patrons. Fortunately, there are no specifications other than for those two items. We’ll tackle this at full speed, ensuring we don’t do a half-hearted job!”
The craftsmen worked tirelessly on the production, and as a result, they would eventually earn the title of Blacksmiths Purveyors to the Royal Family, but that is another story.
Having returned to the residence, Claude was making Recovery Potions with the medicinal herbs that had been gathered during his absence.
While there were some medicinal herbs that were difficult to cultivate and thus couldn’t be grown, as a result of greatly increasing the medicinal herb fields, primarily around the pioneer villages, it had become possible for him to make Recovery Potions of a certain quality without having to go out gathering.
Because his own room would end up smelling of medicinal herbs, he had now been given a dedicated room for this work, and it was there that Brother Fahrenheit came to visit.
“Hey, Claude. You’re quite diligent, even though you’ve just finished gathering materials for arms and armor.”
“I’m just trying to fulfill the role I’ve been given, you know.”
“I don’t think you need to rush so much, though. Why don’t you come over here and rest for a bit?”
“I’ll be at a good stopping point in a little while, so would it be alright if I joined you then?”
“Alright. I’ll prepare some tea in the meantime.”
Claude continued his work until a good stopping point and then sat down facing Brother Fahrenheit.
“I’ve prepared some snacks for tea as well, so let’s enjoy them.”
Cookies were arranged on the table.
Claude picked one up and tried it.
“It’s sweet and delicious.”
“I’m glad.”
Brother Fahrenheit elegantly sipped his tea.
The conversation naturally turned to the current situation in the Prominence Domain.
“The economy is improving, and the quality of life for the people of the Prominence Domain is rising, but along with that, many new problems are also arising, you see.”
“That sounds challenging.”
“Father-sama tries to solve everything himself, but it’s my role to take some of that workload from him, you see.”
Claude shared a laugh with Brother Fahrenheit, who had made a joke.
Having finished his break, Claude returned to making Recovery Potions.
