Chapter 95: The Dragon’s Eyes
Night. Something was bothering me, so I found myself looking down at the royal capital’s cityscape from my room’s window.
Viewed from above, the main streets and entertainment districts of the royal capital were faintly illuminated. I could see people and carriages passing by, and it was clear that it would still be some time before the royal capital fell silent.
What was bothering me was the mysterious dizziness I’d felt after the mock battle with Cornelia in the morning.

After all, my eyes are dragon eyes. If it’s a dragon, it wouldn’t be strange for it to have one or two Mystic Eyes, right?
“How do you activate Mystic Eyes? Is it the orthodox way, like pouring magical power into your eyes? …Huh?”
I had no proof. I was just messing around. But, the moment I poured Holy Power into my eyes—they awakened.
My vision zoomed in as if I were looking through a telescope. The city lights that had seemed distant now appeared as if they were right nearby.
“Telescopic vision, perhaps…?”
It was a slightly different effect than I’d imagined, but it seems these dragon eyes do indeed have a special effect.
Moreover, it felt like they still held hidden potential.
“I can see through things too…?”
My eyes could see through the walls of buildings, showing the insides of houses. Apparently, the owner of a house I didn’t know was already in bed, asleep.
Moreover, with this X-ray vision, it seemed I could pass through layers as I pleased. I could even see through two or three houses to perceive a person walking on a night road beyond them, naked.

Excitedly, I investigated the capabilities of my Mystic Eyes. Apparently, these dragon eyes possessed the power of four Mystic Eyes: Telescopic Vision, X-ray Vision, Magic Absorption, and Intimidation.
The Mystic Eyes of Magic Absorption are eyes that absorb magical power (Holy Power) from a target. Being able to drain an opponent’s magical power is a big deal, and being able to make that drained power my own is more than just strong—it’s practically cheating.
And then, the Mystic Eyes of Intimidation. These are Mystic Eyes that bind a target’s movements with fear. I tried it on a passerby, and they froze up just like a frog stared down by a snake. I feel bad about that.
These are the four Mystic Eyes I’ve obtained, but to be precise, it’s more like these are the four Mystic Eyes I can use at the current stage.
The power of the Mystic Eyes, and my draconic physical abilities—I had a hunch they would grow, just like a Gift.
I don’t know if they’ll really grow, or how they would grow, but somehow, I’m excited. My heart is pounding, so much so that my heartbeat is loud.
“Will they grow if I defeat monsters, like a Gift? Or is it something different… For example, will they grow if I dispel curses from cursed items, like the Healing Gift? I don’t know. But this is interesting.”
My head is packed with all the knowledge from the game ‘Legend of the Magic Sword’. Even mobilizing all that knowledge didn’t give me an answer. And that’s what excites me.
That’s right. Looking up walkthroughs on the internet is easy, but then puzzle-solving just becomes a chore. It’s much more fun to investigate from scratch through trial and error.
Well, playstyles differ from person to person, and I don’t intend to force mine on anyone, but that’s how I prefer it.
“Now then, what to do… I’d like to go defeat some monsters, but… Maybe I’ll start by trying to dispel a curse from a cursed item?”
Too excited to just go to sleep, I eagerly made my way to the basement where the cursed items were kept.
