Guaranteed Rare Drops – Chapter 38

Chapter 37: Preparations Complete!

Hearing the news that the armor was complete, Claris and I visited the armorer.

“Here ya go… This is the best product I can make at this point.”

It was truly a magnificent piece…
It had a majestic appearance, as if the Red Dragon itself had been molded into its form.
It had a look befitting the name Dragon Killer.

A full suit of gleaming, crimson armor.
And not a gaudy, vulgar red, but a dark, deep, rich wine red.
Made from dragon materials, it was like a wearable dragon.

“This is… quite amazing… It’s a work of art…”

I don’t usually care much about appearances, and being a country bumpkin, I’m not very knowledgeable about art.
But even so, it’s armor beautiful enough to make me stare.

“Thanks for that. But hey, this isn’t just about looks, y’know…?”

The old man at the armor shop began to talk about its performance.

“First off, dragon fangs and flames won’t get through this. After all, it uses their scales. Furthermore, its magic resistance is also substantial. The Sunlight Ore you gave me came in handy.”

It seems the leftover Sunlight Ore from the Pouch Troll subjugation was also useful as a material.
Apparently, if you grind it into a powder and coat armor with it, the magic resistance increases.

“Well then, shall we try it on right away?”
“Yeah…”

Claris and I slipped into our matching armor series.
There are only these two sets in the world.
There are slight differences between the women’s and men’s versions, but both are very well made.
I dub thee, the Red Dragon Series!

“Whoa, it suits you…!”

Claris’s version was shaped like a crimson dress.
It wasn’t just armor; it also combined cuteness, beauty, and sexiness.

“Loin, you look really cool too…!”
“Thanks.”

With the armor sorted, next up is the weapon.
I ordered the weapon from the blacksmith the other day.
We’re going to pick it up now…

“Welcome, it’s ready… And it’s incredible.”

The old man at the weapon shop ushered us in with a proud look on his face.
My Demon’s Blade… its upgraded version was complete.

“Was that useful…?”

“Yeah, of course.”

I had given him a certain material beforehand.
The Dragon Orbs I obtained from the Red Dragon.
I had handed him three Dragon Orbs.

“I managed to set all three of ’em!”

“Whoa! That’s amazing.”

The new Demon’s Blade had three sockets.
The Dragon Orbs fit snugly into them.
On the thick blade of the Demon’s Blade, the three Dragon Orbs shone like eyes.
It was originally a rather unrefined-looking sword, but this addition increased its ominous and divine aura.

“This is… the ultimate weapon…!”

“You bet! You don’t come across a weapon better than this very often!”

After all, it has three Dragon Orbs embedded in it.
The effect of an accessory using a Dragon Orb was Critical Hit Rate +15%.
Meaning, this weapon also…
Just by equipping it, it becomes a weapon with Critical Hit Rate +45%…!
Combined with the accessory, that’s a whopping 60%…!

“This means I can land a critical hit more than half the time…!”

It seems this is the limit for using Dragon Orbs.
Using multiple for an accessory would make it too heavy, and incorporating them into armor would apparently cause durability issues.

“I somehow managed to embed three this time… but it was a real struggle, you know? Demonite Ore is hard to work with… But thanks to you, I’ve gotten used to handling Demonite Ore!”

“Yeah, that’s a big help. Your skills are truly top-notch.”

The old man at this weapon shop is truly trustworthy.

Alright, weapon and armor are all set…!

I left the shop.

“Well then, Claris, shall we head back home for now?”
“You’re right… We need to tell Salina-san and Dorothy too.”

We Teleported back home.
No matter how much stronger I’ve become, our opponent is an unknown monster from the demon world.
We can’t let our guard down, and there’s a very real possibility of dying.
But, that wasn’t a reason not to challenge it—!
