Chapter 25
Claude and the others were challenging the third floor of the dungeon.
Immediately upon entering, we encountered a group of goblins.
I could see a goblin mage in the back, but instead of recklessly charging in, I calmly dealt with the goblin front line.
The goblin mage, perhaps unafraid of friendly fire, launched a Fire Arrow at us.
If I dodged it, it would hit Alicia-neesama and Iris-neesama, so I cast my own Fire Arrow to intercept and cancel it out.
The Fire Arrow I, Claude, launched splendidly hit the goblin mage’s Fire Arrow and continued on to strike the goblin mage, annihilating it.
I thought I might have overdone it, but for now, the goblins in front of me were the priority.
While receiving support from Alicia-neesama and Iris-neesama, I exploited openings and took down the goblins one by one.
The battle ended shortly, and we collected the dropped items.
“Claude, that was chantless, and with that much power! Your magic skill is top-notch, isn’t it?”
“I only intended to cancel it out, but…”
“Claude, you seem to have quite a bit of leeway. Do you think it’s possible for you to handle the front line while also targeting archers and mages with magic?”
“I think I can manage.”
“Haha. All I can do is swing a sword. I’ve always had to use my body to block long-range attacks, but with Claude around, we can fight with more peace of mind.”
“That’s enough chatter. The next group is here.”
Brother Fahrenheit’s voice made me refocus.
This time, the group had two goblin archers mixed in, so before they could fire their arrows, I quickly launched Fire Arrows using multi-casting.
Alicia-neesama and Iris-neesama used magic to keep the approaching sword-wielding goblins in check, and just as they faltered, Klaus-niisama charged in.
I ran to support Klaus-niisama so he wouldn’t get isolated.
I cut in between Klaus-niisama and a goblin that was trying to stab him from behind with a spear, slicing its spear with my sword.
The goblin that lost its spear was mercilessly struck by Alicia-neesama’s or Iris-neesama’s magic and annihilated.
In the meantime, Klaus-niisama had used a martial art to defeat about three goblins.
The battle ended in an instant, but then Brother Fahrenheit’s thunder fell upon us.
“Klaus. It’s fine to be inspired by Claude’s performance, but don’t charge in recklessly. Think about those who have to support you.”
“My bad, my bad. But it was a piece of cake, right?”
It was a bad move that could have gotten him surrounded if things went wrong, but it was a move made with conviction that support would come.
Even if I hadn’t intervened with the goblin trying to stab him from behind, Alicia-neesama’s or Iris-neesama’s support would have been perfectly on time.
There’s no doubt that a trust built up over time definitely existed there.
“Alicia and Iris were splendid as always. Claude, your judgment isn’t wrong. When Klaus goes wild, I’m counting on you.”
“Yes. Understood.”
