Bachelor’s Isekai Reincarnation – Chapter 37

Chapter 37

Those who were adults ordered wine.

The others were served fruit juice, and we all gathered around the table.

“Well then, to commemorate Claude’s conferment of nobility, a toast!”

At Father-sama’s lead for the toast, I raised my glass and brought it to my lips.

A refreshing citrusy flavor spread through my mouth.

After moistening my throat, I started on the food.

Just as Ane-sama recommended, it was sophisticated and incredibly delicious.

The meal progressed in a lively atmosphere, and before I knew it, my plate was empty.

After leaving the restaurant, we discussed our plans for the rest of the day.

“Claude, is there anywhere you’d like to go?”

“I’d like to go to a bookstore.”

“In that case, it’s this way.”

With Fahrenheit-niisama in the lead, we walked through the town.

Fahrenheit-niisama led us off the main street and down a small alley to an old-looking shop.

“If it’s just about the number of books, there are other shops, but I thought this place would be better for the kind of books Claude is looking for.”

Upon entering the shop, I was met with the distinct smell of old books.

“Welcome. What kind of books are you looking for?”

An elderly shopkeeper spoke to me.

“Do you have any books on magic?”

“In that case, they’re this way.”

Guided by the old man, I moved to the back of the shop.

I scanned the spines, checking the titles and authors’ names.

An author’s name caught my attention, and I picked up a book.

I’d seen it somewhere before.

I searched my memory, trying to recall where.

After thinking for a moment, I remembered seeing it during my magical history studies with Ane-sama.

Isaiah the Foolish Sage.

His magical skills were top-notch, but he became engrossed in ancient magic and reportedly continued research that ordinary people couldn’t comprehend.

I opened the book and skimmed through it.

With just a glance, I could see advanced magic circles drawn within, accompanied by explanations, but I couldn’t understand all of it.

I looked at other pages, and though I couldn’t understand them, I sensed the potential for them to lead to something beyond advanced magic.

“Father-sama. I’d like this book.”

“Go ahead.”

Father-sama paid for it, and with a delighted expression, I stored the book in my Item Box.

After leaving the bookstore, time passed as I accompanied Ane-sama and the others with their clothes shopping and Klaus-niisama’s search for arms and armor.

My brothers had a curfew at their dormitory, so we parted ways midway, and I returned to the inn.

It seemed Netzal-san had also been out, and we met up at dinner.

“As expected of the Royal Capital, I managed to acquire a lot of valuable materials,” he said.

After dinner, to understand the book I’d gotten today and to learn the knowledge I was likely lacking, I found myself staring intently at my study materials.

What I was working on now was Multi-layered Magic Circles.

It’s a concept where, by layering multiple magic circles, one theoretically pursues infinite possibilities for magic that’s impossible with a single magic circle.

The tricky part is that if you don’t layer them correctly, the magic circles can interfere with each other, leading to accidents.

By the time I somehow managed to complete one, it was already late at night.

Figuring I’d get scolded by Mother-sama again if I stayed up any longer, I decided to go to sleep.
