Bachelor’s Isekai Reincarnation – Chapter 7

Chapter 7

After finishing the Baptism ceremony and returning home, I went back to my room and was checking the equipment I had obtained.

I picked up the numerous pieces of equipment I had used back in my gaming days, one by one, to get a feel for them.

I understood how to handle them during the Baptism, but when I actually tried to wield them, they felt unbalanced and awkward.

“So, it’s different from how it was in the game, huh? Let’s sort out the usable equipment from the rest.”

There’s a skill called Quick that allows you to instantly switch equipment from the Item Box.

Naturally, I had acquired it, so I designated a weapon I thought would be useful to Quick and tried switching my equipment.

As expected, this also seems to require some getting used to; I couldn’t switch instantly like in the game, and there was a time lag.

Of course, I also obtained armor, but the size didn’t fit, so I had no choice but to give up on it until I grew bigger.

“Young Master. Dinner is ready.”

“Thank you. I’ll be right there.”

Called by the servant, I realized it was already that time, returned the equipment I had taken out to the Item Box, and headed to the dining hall.

Upon entering the dining hall, the table was laden with what you’d call party food, like cake and a whole roasted bird.

“Today is Claude’s 5th birthday. The head chef went all out, thinking something like this would be nice for a change.”

“Thank you, Father-sama. Thank you too, Head Chef.”

“Happy 5th birthday. If you’d like, I can serve the food for you, so please don’t worry.”

“Well then, to Claude’s future growth. Cheers!”

My parents sipped wine, while Claude, being a minor, drank fruit juice.

The usual meals are, of course, delicious, but it felt like such a waste to leave any of the specially prepared food, so I ended up overeating. Now, I was enjoying after-dinner tea with my parents.

“Claude, it seems you received various equipment from your Gift, but I’ve prepared some basic equipment for you. I’ll have it brought over later.”

“Thank you very much. I did receive armor, but the size didn’t fit, and I was wondering what to do.”

“Ahaha. That’s good. I’m relieved my preparations weren’t in vain.”

“And this is from me.”

Mother-sama handed me a thick book.

“Is this an encyclopedia? Thank you very much.”

Flipping through the pages on the spot, I saw it was filled with detailed descriptions and illustrations.

“Well then, I think I’ll head back to my room now.”

“Don’t stay up too late, make sure you get some sleep.”

I often got scolded by Mother-sama for staying up late, engrossed in books.

“Yes. I’ll read just a little and then go to sleep.”

Despite saying “just a little,” Claude, of course, got too engrossed in the encyclopedia and ended up getting scolded.
