“(Haa, is that all…)”
I finished making the last of the Hydra weapons.
There’s still a little bit of material left, but I’ll save the rest for when something comes up.
“(That should be enough, right?)”
I look at the completed weapons.
Starting with the whip, there are a total of five: a spear, a hammer, a sword, and a bow.
They’re all the size of telephone poles, since they’re made to fit the physique of a 〖Feral Beast (Me)〗, and the whip is twice that size.
“(Alright, alright, the tension is good too.)”
I picked up the Poison Bow and plucked the string.
This string is made by processing the Hydra’s poison glands, which have extremely strong elasticity, into a thread, and it’s difficult to even draw without the strength of a 〖Feral Beast〗.
“(The wind-breaking bow has felt a little soft lately. Unless I’m aiming for something really far away, this one seems stronger.)”
The Hydra’s Poison Bow doesn’t have wind-breaking, but in exchange, I gave it increased elasticity and increased elasticity limit.
Just shooting it normally should produce the same power as using a 〖Weapon Skill〗 with the wind-breaking bow.
“(I’ve also made poison arrows, so my long-range combat power has increased significantly.)”
While making the five weapons, I had some extra materials, so I used the fangs to make a few arrows.
I gave them a simple but powerful effect: they inflict 〖Poison〗 when they hit.
If I infuse the Poison Bow with 〖Mana〗, I can load the arrows with 〖Poison〗, so if I combine it with poison arrows, I can inflict 〖Poison〗 twice.
Along with the explosive arrows that were reduced in number during the Hydra fight, I’ll start mass-producing poison arrows as well.
“(〖Weapon Storage〗)”
I stored the Hydra weapons and the surrounding weaponized plants.
The capacity of 〖Weapon Storage〗 has increased due to the increase in volume from 〖Evolution〗, but if I keep turning the forest into weapons, I’ll probably reach the limit soon.
“(Well, I don’t have to worry about that with ‘Convergence’)”
I thought about that while focusing my consciousness on my 〖Zone Control〗.
Even when I was looking at the finished products, when I was collecting the weaponized plants, and now as I’m heading towards the flower field at my base, my 〖Territory〗 is still activated.
~Zone Control Details~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Additional Effects: ‘Sharp’, ‘Convergence’
Shrink: Narrows the effective range of 〖Zone Control〗.
Convergence: Minimizes the effective range of 〖Zone Control〗.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Perhaps because I had been consciously focusing on narrowing the range, ‘Convergence’ had become available as an additional effect for my 〖Zone Control〗.
The 〖Zone Control〗, minimized by ‘Convergence’, now covers just me. Without even a millimeter of error.
Weaponization and other debuffs become meaningless, but when the range is this narrow, 〖Mana〗 consumption is almost zero.
In addition, it doesn’t affect the flower field, so it’s all good.
“(Still, the drawback is that switching consumes 〖Mana〗.)”
‘Convergence’ is convenient, but it does have its drawbacks.
To expand the 〖Zone Control〗 to a wide area, I have to remove ‘Convergence’.
However, adding or removing additional effects while 〖Territory〗 is activated requires 〖Mana〗. It also takes a little time, albeit small.
“(It’s a trade-off… but the pros and cons aren’t really balanced.)”
Even so, the reason I’m using ‘Convergence’ is simply because the benefits are greater.
I have plenty of 〖Mana〗 thanks to 〖Stockpile〗, and I can’t really think of a situation where I’d have to quickly expand my 〖Zone Control〗 or switch additional effects.
In the end, I think it’s best to always activate 〖Territory〗 with ‘Convergence’ and enjoy the benefits of increased sharpness with ‘Sharp’.
──As I was thinking about that, I arrived at the flower field at my base.
“(Hmm… should I go to sleep now?)”
The sky is still crimson, but a lot has happened today.
I wasn’t hungry after eating the Hydra, so I went straight to sleep…
“(Oh yeah)”
I swung the whip up and then down. The tip of the Hydra whip blurred, and a cracking sound and an explosion echoed at the same time.
The right shoulder of a bear 〖Dire Beast〗, who had recklessly stepped into the flower field, was blown away.
“GWOOOOOOOOOH!”
Its right foreleg rolled onto the ground, and the bear let out a scream.
The bear, who had been drooling and didn’t seem to be in its right mind, seemed to have regained its composure after this blow.
It tried to flee from the scene in a hurry, but collapsed before it could take a second step.
The whip’s poison had taken effect.
The bear tried to crawl away even as it fell, but soon vomited a large amount of blood and died.
“(It’s still as nasty as ever…)”
This poison whip inherited the properties of the 〖Hundred Poison Fangs〗, and can inflict a wide variety of poisons through the wound.
Decrease in 〖Life〗. Weakening of the body. Numbness of the senses. Inhibition of recovery. And the nullification of immunity.
These are the five effects of the 〖Poison〗.
The name “Hundred Poisons” is a bit of a letdown, but it’s still powerful.
Now, I extend the poison whip towards the bear, wrap it around it, and bring it to me to devour.
The bear was over two meters tall, being a 〖Dire Beast〗, but with my current 〖Power〗, I can lift it with just one whip.
“(Munch munch… as expected, 〖Feral Beasts〗 are different from the basics.)”
I muttered, recalling the previous battle, or rather, the one-sided massacre.
Two days have passed since the day I underwent 〖Evolution〗. I’ve experienced countless times in these two days just how extraordinary the existence of a 〖Feral Beast〗 is.
It’s terrifying that I can one-shot a 〖Dire Beast〗 with a normal attack that doesn’t even use 〖Weapon Skills〗.
It’s literally a different class.
“(〖Escalating Warfare〗… I don’t particularly need its materials. Should I just melt it all?)”
I absorbed all of its hard claws, fangs, and fur. With my current 〖Decomposition Liquid〗, this is a piece of cake.
Then, I transformed a part of my body into a whip and swung it repeatedly, vertically and horizontally. It’s whip attack training.
Before I got the sword and spear, I used to make my body like a whip and fight with 〖Weapon Skills〗 like 〖Whip〗.
But the usability of something that was just a body transformed to look like a whip and the real whip I’m using now is completely different.
“(I guess it’s better not to interfere unnecessarily.)”
After swinging the whip a few times, I reaffirmed the conclusion I had reached yesterday.
Like a chain, the whip can be moved freely by my will, but it’s more powerful to move only the handle and use the recoil and flex.
It’s like interfering with it kills the momentum, or rather, it interferes with the linkage.
I think it interferes with the normal transmission of power.
“(Ha!)”
That’s why yesterday, I spent half the day researching how to swing the whip.
I went through trial and error to find out how to swing it quickly and sharply.
It was training without any textbooks, but the whip I imitated with 〖Replicant Form〗 is like a part of my body, and with the help of 〖Escalating Warfare〗’s analysis ability, I was able to grasp the knack of it.
I deliberately pull back once, then swing the whip forward with the recoil.
Each time a flexible flash cuts through the air, a high-pitched sound similar to a flute echoes.
“──Um… Kouya-kun, right?”
It was at that moment that a somewhat hesitant voice echoed.
