Black Steel King – Chapter 210

Episode 209: Barrier of Light

A ring of light fell from the sky once more.

The Seekers scattered in panic, but the ring bounced off the ground, rolling at high speed and crushing those in its path.

Rachmad, Zamara, and other Seekers who had dodged the ring unleashed their magic one after another.

Flames, lightning, water, and Wind Magic. All sorts of spells assaulted the ring of light, but they were blocked by the light and failed to hit the main body.

“What is that thing!?”

Zamara shouted, her face distorted. Rachmad, while brandishing his sword, spoke.

“Probably a ‘Barrier of Light’! It’s said to be the strongest of all Magical Barriers.”
“A Barrier of Light… how do we break through something like that!?”

Asked by Zamara, Rachmad shook his head.

“The Barrier of Light is said to weaken the power of all magic and deflect physical attacks… breaking through it won’t be easy!”

Hearing that, Zamara and the other Seekers wore expressions of despair.

What should they do? Even as they pondered, the ring of light rolled along the ground, changing direction and heading towards them.

Everyone channeled Magical Power into their weapons, preparing to meet it head-on, but it didn’t seem to stop.

Just as everyone was feeling desperate, a black Lightning struck the ring of light.

“Hey, hey, don’t get cocky! We’re your opponents, you know.”

Akito ran forward. The ring of light changed direction, rotating at high speed and running along the ground.

“Rui!”
“Yeah, I know.”

The two ran side by side, charging towards the ring of light. A fiery slash and black Lightning intersected in front of the ring.

A massive explosion occurred, and black Lightning burst forth.

Rui and Akito jumped out from the spreading smoke. As the smoke cleared and the ring of light came into view, it was rotating completely unscathed.

“That’s a troublesome enemy.”
“To think our attacks couldn’t stop it…”

Akito and Rui grimaced. Their attacks should have been able to defeat even an Ancient Dragon with a single blow. They were astonished that it had withstood them.

“Is this thing… as strong as a [Gold Dragon]?”

To Akito’s words, Rui replied, “No.”

“It doesn’t seem that strong. It just has high defensive power.”
“Which means…”

Akito glared at the furiously running wheel, and Rui nodded.

“Yeah, if we break that ‘Barrier of Light’… it shouldn’t be hard to defeat!”

They dodged the wheel rushing towards them at high speed. The wheel was heading towards Yuma.

The hammer glowed red like magma, and Yuma waited for the wheel, steam rising from his entire body.

Yuma raised his hammer and slammed it into the wheel that came before his eyes.

A blinding light spread, and a massive explosion occurred. Rui and Akito jumped back, and the Indonesian Seekers were nearly blown away.

Yuma emerged from the rising flames. The wheel was still in the fire, but Yuma frowned.

The wheel slowly rolled out, parting the sea of fire.

There were no scratches on its surface. The shining tires and the countless eyes on its surface. Yuma clicked his tongue.

“Magic doesn’t work? Damn… if I were in my ‘Metal Armor’ form, I’d have more power and speed.”

Yuma grumbled, but he couldn’t take on a more ferocious form in front of Rachmad and Zamara.

How much trouble had he gotten into because of that form?

Yuma’s back turned cold just thinking about it.

“Bloodstained Ore (Bloody Ore)!”

Several red lines appeared on his body. He had no choice but to maximize his speed and unleash a barrage of explosion magic.

Just as Yuma raised his hammer again, the wheel of light was heading towards another Seeker.

◇◇◇

The wheel of light ran along, scraping the ground and sending the standing Seekers flying as it approached.

Zamara pointed the tip of her clenched sword at the wheel.

She couldn’t run away. She had to defeat it here. That’s what Zamara thought, but her hand was trembling slightly.

Her body was showing a rejection response to the superior angel she was seeing for the first time.

“Damn it! By a guy like this… by a monster like this!!”

The village where Zamara lived was ravaged by Monsters that came out of the Dungeon, and her parents and siblings were all killed.

Monsters were the enemy to be hated, and to turn her back on them and run away—

Zamara poured all her Magical Power into the Holy Sword (Kris). She dodged the high-speed wheel and unleashed a lightning-infused slash.

In that instant—Zamara saw her sword shattered into pieces.

Her own weapon had shattered. Zamara stood still in shock. In that gap, the wheel of light changed direction and charged.

Zamara, reacting too late, couldn’t move.

Rachmad and the other Seekers also slashed at the wheel, but they were all repelled and blown away.

The high-speed rotating wheel was approaching.

There was nothing more she could do. She had no weapon, and no energy to escape. Zamara resigned herself to her death.

At that moment, a tremendous Crushing Impact resounded.

She didn’t understand what had happened, but when Zamara covered her face with her arms and stepped back, she saw the whole picture.

The black Japanese Seeker had slammed his hammer into the side of the wheel.

The wheel tilted diagonally, lost its balance, and could no longer run. Not missing the slight opening, the man unleashed his attack.

“UOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!”

The iron hammer was swung down repeatedly. He continued to strike at a speed that didn’t seem humanly possible.

The wheel of light was unable to move due to the blows from all directions, and was gradually being pushed back.

Zamara swallowed hard.

The “Barrier of Light” around the wheel began to creak. The aura that seemed like absolute defense was distorted.

“Could it be… is he going to break it?”

As Zamara was overwhelmed by the tremendous attack and took a few steps back, a powerful blow exploded.

A Crushing Impact like shattering glass. The aura of light that covered the wheel had completely disappeared.

Zamara opened her mouth and could only stare.

The “Barrier of Light” that was impervious to both magic and physical attacks had been completely destroyed.

The man raised his hammer, shouted “UOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”, and swung it down. The iron hammer dug into the side of the wheel.

Countless eyes were crushed, and the etheric body made of light was gouged out.

The hammer flashed, exploded, and further destroyed the wheel. The man had no intention of slowing down his attacks, and struck repeatedly at high speed.

Each time a blow landed, an explosion occurred, and the wheel of light collapsed.

A scream like an ultrasonic wave pierced her ears. Zamara covered her ears and took a few more steps back.

“It’s over!!”

The man jumped up and unleashed a blow with all his might.

It pierced through the body of the wheel and destroyed the ground as well. A massive explosion erupted, and all the light was blown away. Only scattered sand remained in the area.

The red light disappeared from the body of the man who had landed, and he returned to his black form.

He casually put his hammer on his shoulder and was talking to his companions, the Seekers from Japan.

Zamara couldn’t believe it, and her breathing became shallow.

“He defeated an Archangel… an Archangel that no one has ever defeated…”
