Black Steel King – Chapter 214

“Damn it! He’s almost lost consciousness.”

Akito shakes Yuma desperately, but there’s no response. He opens Yuma’s mouth to check inside and sees that he seems to have swallowed the Magic Gem.

“Hey! Is this okay?! Even if he swallows the Magic Gem, won’t his guts being torn apart prevent him from absorbing it?”

Rui, who was also peering at Yuma’s face, shakes his head.

“No, the longsword pierced around the small intestine and duodenum. The Magic Gem is broken down in the stomach, so there shouldn’t be any problem absorbing it. All that’s left is for him to regain consciousness…”

The two of them look at Yuma. To heal these wounds instantly, Yuma himself has to use “Recovery Magic.” Hendri and Rachmad also watch with worried expressions, as Akito acts.

“No choice!”

Akito straddles Yuma, who is lying on his back, and grabs his collar.
Rui is surprised and asks, “What are you going to do?” but Akito shouts, “Just watch!” and raises his fist.

“I have to wake him up, even if it’s a little forceful!!”

Lightning crackles on Akito’s right fist. He swings his fist down and punches Yuma in the face.
Yuma’s head snaps around. But he doesn’t regain consciousness and remains limp.

“It didn’t work! Then, one more!!”

This time, he backhands Yuma on his right cheek. Again, his head snaps, and blood comes out of his mouth, but he still doesn’t regain consciousness.

“A-Akito! Yuma’s going to die!”

Rui tries to stop him in a panic, but Akito says, “Shut up! There’s no time!” and swings his fist again.
After five or six punches, Yuma regains consciousness, “Ugh, ugh…”

“Oh! You’re awake, Yuma! Get a hold of yourself!”
“Ah, ah, what… what happened to me?”

Yuma winces in pain and looks around. He seems confused, having just regained consciousness.

“Just use “Recovery Magic” and heal the wound in your stomach quickly! You’ll die if you stay like this!”

Yuma looks at his blood-soaked stomach and finally grasps the situation.

“…O-Okay.”

He places both hands on his abdomen and concentrates. Because the pain is so intense, distracting thoughts enter his mind, and he can’t control the magic well.
Even so, Yuma tries to concentrate, taking a deep breath to calm his mind.
Light leaks from his hands little by little, eventually becoming a strong radiance that overflows into the surroundings.

“Whoa, what is this?!”

Yuma is surprised by the Recovery Magic he used. He shouldn’t have been able to use such powerful magic.
The wound in his abdomen begins to close, and the pain subsides.
The severe injury that was so bad has healed in a matter of minutes.

“Amazing, when did I learn such magic…”

Yuma stares at his hands with an incredulous expression. Rui and Akito can’t hide their surprise at the wound that healed in an instant.

“You did it, Yuma! I thought you were a goner!”
“I’m so glad. Does it still hurt?”

When asked by the two, Yuma says, “I’m okay, I’m okay,” and stands up.

“Yeah, the wound in my stomach is gone now. There’s not even a scar.”

Yuma lifts his shirt and looks at his stomach. Rui and Akito also peer in and are impressed that there isn’t a single wound, exclaiming, “Ooh~.”

“My stomach is healed, but my face hurts a lot… I wonder why?”

When Yuma tilts his head, Akito slaps him on the shoulder, saying, “Hey, it’s fine! Don’t worry about it!”
He didn’t understand well, but while having doubts, he agreed, “Well, I guess so.” The three of them got into the car prepared by Hendri and returned to the hotel where they were staying.

◇◇◇

“So, what happened to Zamara-san?”

Yuma asked Hendri, who was sitting across from him. It was near evening when Hendri came to the hotel room to explain the situation.
He had Hendri sit in the wooden chair, and Yuma sat in the other chair.
Since there were only two chairs, Rui and Akito sat on the bed, listening to the conversation between Yuma and Hendri.
Akito, in particular, had his arms crossed and looked quite displeased.

“Zamara and ‘Mahakala’ have been arrested by the local police. This incident is tantamount to an act of terrorism, so I think they will be severely punished.”

Hendri busily wiped the sweat that had appeared on his forehead with a handkerchief. Seeing Hendri like that, Akito snorted.

“Is it okay to leave it to the police? The opponents are a violent group that can use magic!”

Since Mana began to overflow in the world, crimes committed by Seekers who can use magic have become a social problem.
Even the guns that the police have can’t break through the Magical Barrier that Seekers put up.
They are now becoming a threat equivalent to Monsters.

“There’s no need to worry. Many of them are seriously injured, and Rachmad and the members of ‘Kujata’ are accompanying them during transport. Also, the facility where they will be housed has a device that suppresses Mana, so they won’t be able to use magic.”
“Well, if that’s the case, then it’s fine.”

Relieved by Akito, who had lowered his dissatisfaction a little, Hendri turns his eyes to Yuma.

“Regarding this matter… the executive branch is deeply sorry. We want to apologize not only to you, but also to the Japanese government, and we would like to compensate you… Would you please settle this amicably?”

Yuma and the other two exchange glances. Akito was the first to speak.

“Compensation… does that mean paying money?”
“Yes, that’s what we intend to do. We will consult with the government, but we would like to offer you a sufficient amount of money–”
“No, no, wait a minute!”

Akito cuts off Hendri’s conversation.

“Money isn’t very useful in the current world, is it! If you’re going to compensate us, give us Magic Gems. The government should have some, right!”
“M-Magic Gems?! B-But we’ve already given you the White Magic Gem that Indonesia possesses…”

Hendri frantically shakes his head. But Akito didn’t budge from his claim.

“Idiot! Not white, other Magic Gems… like ‘Fire’ or ‘Lightning.’ We’re going to fight in India, we need Magic Gems more than money!”

Rui nods, saying, “That’s true,” and Yuma agrees, “That might be better.”
Hendri couldn’t stop sweating, and he busily wiped his sweat with a handkerchief.

“I-I understand. I’ll try to negotiate with the government somehow.”
“Hurry up! We’re leaving for India soon. Bring us as many Magic Gems as you can by then.”

Hendri was spurred on by Akito, and he stood up, saying, “I’ll do my best!!” and hurriedly left the room.

“Aren’t you being a bit too pushy?” Yuma said, but Akito laughed, “It’s fine, it’s fine. They’re causing us trouble.”

“Well… the pain in my face was especially bad. I guess it’s okay to get that much.”

Yuma was convinced and rubbed his cheek, which was still throbbing with pain.
