Episode 304: Magic Compatibility
Yuma kicked off the ground and moved forward.
He raised the hammer in his right hand high, pouring Magical Power into it from the handle. Green lines ran through the hammer, and it began to glow faintly.
“Wind Magical Power” gathered at the head, further compressing it into a Vacuum Sphere.
“Eat this!!”
Yuma swung down the hammer, and it slammed into the giant Dragon’s body.
The water surface was shaved away by the vacuum, and the Dragon shuddered and backed away. A rut-like wound remained on its body, but no blood came out.
Yuma had a bad feeling.
“GOOOOOOOON!”
When the giant Dragon cried out, the wound on its body disappeared in an instant. It was more like replenishing lost water than regeneration.
–Is this how this Monster regenerates!?
It was common knowledge that the Monsters nesting in the Blue Dungeon did not have high Regeneration, but this one seemed to be an exception.
Like the Chimera, its body was made up of “liquid.”
This type of Monster was sure to be troublesome. He knew that well from experience.
“Anyway, I have no choice but to destroy it thoroughly.”
Yuma held the hammer low, lowered his stance, and charged. The giant Dragon didn’t remain silent either. It gathered Magical Power in its mouth and spewed out a large amount of water.
Yuma gracefully dodged the Water Breath, kicked off the ground, and jumped up.
He swung the hammer down towards the Dragon’s head. This time, instead of a vacuum, he slammed the wind pressure itself.
A tremendous blast of wind erupted, and the Dragon’s head was blown away.
Yuma, who had been blown backward, also landed with a spin. When he raised his face, the Dragon was staggering.
–How’s that!?
It would be good if he could kill it with this blow. Yuma thought so, but it wasn’t that easy.
The Dragon was absorbing water from its feet. Bubbles began to form from its neck, and the missing head regenerated in an instant.
This area was flooded everywhere. Was it regenerating by using that water?
The giant Dragon raised its head as if nothing had happened and cried out towards him.
Yuma clicked his tongue in his mind.
After all, to defeat this guy, he needed Thunder Magic to inhibit Regeneration.
Wind and Fire Magic, which Yuma used, were not compatible. He should have left it to Akito, who could use Thunder Magic. Yuma regretted it a little and looked up at the sky.
In the sky above, Akito was engaged in aerial combat with a Blue Dragon.
While dodging the Dragon’s Breath and charges, he flew the six blades attached to the tip of Gae Bolg into the air, wrapped them in Lightning, and attacked the Dragon.
It was like a Dragon of Lightning. Six Lightning Dragons attacked the Blue Dragon and shot it down one after another.
Furthermore, Akito himself skillfully manipulated Gae Bolg, took the enemy’s true height, and fired Thunder Magic. The Dragon convulsed and fell in a spiral.
“Amazing…”
A voice of admiration involuntarily leaked out. To defeat the Water Dragon, which was said to be quite strong, so easily… Yuma was once again amazed at Akito’s growth.
But there were still more Blue Dragons.
Even for Akito, it would be difficult to deal with them all. If so, he had no choice but to defeat this giant Dragon himself.
Yuma put strength into the hand holding the hammer.
The giant Dragon moved first. It opened its mouth and released its Breath.
He jumped to the right to avoid it, but he was startled by the attack. It wasn’t Water Breath. It was Ice Breath.
Buildings were destroyed, and the entire road was frozen.
Yuma went around from the right and held up his hammer. The giant Dragon also charged head-on.
The moment they collided, a violent explosion occurred. Rubble scattered, and Ember and smoke billowed.
From a corner where nothing could be seen due to the smoke, a Dragon that had turned its entire body into “ice” appeared.
Part of its body was damaged. However, it absorbed the water at its feet and regenerated instantly.
The Dragon glared at the road opposite. The smoke cleared, and Yuma came out with his hammer. The hammer in his hand was shining like magma.
Wind Magic wouldn’t work to defeat this guy. Even if it wasn’t compatible, he had no choice but to settle it with Fire Magic.
Yuma steeled himself, channeled Fire Magical Power into his entire body, and kicked off the ground.
Red patterns appeared on his black armor, and the hammer he held low turned a boiling color.
The moment he tried to swing the hammer, the Ice Dragon protruded icicles from its entire body.
He could skewer an ordinary opponent.
–But right now, I’m equal to magma!!
The icicles that hit Yuma’s body melted into a sludge, turned back into water, and evaporated. After getting close enough to the Dragon, he swung the red-stained hammer.
A huge pillar of fire rose with a roar, and the surrounding buildings were blown away.
◇◇◇
An outrageous Crushing Impact. The people who were running to escape looked back, wondering what had happened. What came into view was a tall pillar of fire piercing the sky.
The wind and smoke that swirled around. The people’s fear had reached its peak.
“Don’t stop! Run, run!!”
At Hans’s voice, the crowd came to their senses. This time, screaming, they ran away, each trying to be the first.
It was almost a panic, but Hans thought this was good.
–Getting away from here is the first priority. I don’t know how many will survive, but we have to get out of the city and go north…
Just as Hans was about to start running, Leila grabbed his arm.
“H, Hans… W, we’ll be saved, right? You’ll definitely save me, right!?”
Hans swallowed hard at Leila’s bloodshot eyes.
“Of course! I will take responsibility for escorting you, so please follow me with peace of mind.”
Leila seemed relieved by Hans’s words, regained her composure, and started running again.
“Are those Japanese Seekers okay?”
Hans opened his mouth when Leila asked him while running.
“Their strength surpasses that of the English Seekers. Even if it’s a Dragonkind, it’ll be fine if we leave it to them.”
“What are you talking about! That’s not it.”
“Different? What’s different?”
Hans asked back, not understanding the meaning.
“Aren’t those guys monsters just like the Monsters? I’m saying, what if they turn against us!”
Hans sighed softly. Was that what she was worried about at this point?
Clear hostility floated in Leila’s eyes. She probably didn’t understand that they had been helped.
Hans didn’t answer anything and continued to run silently.
Then, the surroundings suddenly became dark. It was an abnormal darkness, as if the sun had suddenly set.
Hans, Leila, and the evacuating people slowed down and looked up at the sky.
An extraordinary sight was spreading there.
