Black Steel King – Chapter 363

Chapter 359: Reunion

The Seekers surrounding them were speechless, unable to believe the scene before their eyes.
The Abyssal Monster they had brought from the Black Dungeon had been defeated with such ease.
A large hole was blown into the road, and the concrete was melting away like sludge.
Anxiety and impatience spread rapidly in the face of this impossible situation.

“T-This is bad! This guy is dangerous!”
“Run! Run away!”

The Seekers scrambled to escape, each for himself. The middle-aged man knew this was bad and tried to stop them, but it was already too late.

“Damn it… damn them all!”

The man clicked his tongue and looked ahead. The young man who had defeated the monster was slowly walking toward him.

“What can we do against someone like that!?”

The middle-aged Seeker backpedaled, racking his brain. Only a few of his comrades remained, not having fled. There was no way they could win with this force.
Should he retreat and bring back reinforcements?
As he was contemplating this, a voice came from the sky.

“What’s this? You were here? I’ve been searching all over for you, you know.”

Looking up, he saw a person riding something in the sky. The middle-aged man froze, his mouth agape.

“Oh, Akito! Good. You’re alive.”

The young man replied happily. Are these guys allies!? The person floating in the sky gradually descended.

“Of course, you idiot! There’s no way I’d die that easily! More importantly, Yuma, where have you been all this time!?”
“Sorry, sorry. I got lost and was wandering around.”

The one who landed on the ground was a man holding a large spear. A Seeker, perhaps?
The middle-aged man glanced around. The remaining comrades were armed and ready to fight at any moment.
If they could exploit an opening while those guys were off guard…
He signaled his comrades with his eyes, synchronizing their breathing. The young man and the man with the giant spear were still talking, not paying attention to them. Now was their chance—

“Go! Attack all at once!”

The moment the Seekers charged forward, the man with the spear turned toward them.

“What’s with these noisy guys?”

As the man raised his spear, lightning flashed in the sky, and Black Lightning rained down. The Black Lightning struck the comrades, and they fell one after another.
The Magical Barrier was easily shattered.

—What is this!? Who is this guy?

Black Lightning struck the middle-aged man as well. He managed to dodge it, but his right hand, holding a Dagger, was grazed.

“Gyaaaaaaaaah!”

His right arm was blown off, and the wound was burning. The man frantically tried to extinguish the fire, groaning, “Ugh…” and dropped to his knees.
The middle-aged man glared at the two men, his face contorted. Both were Seekers of abnormal strength.
Probably people from America. Did the surviving members of the Australian government call for help?
He pondered various possibilities, but no answers came.
The man with the spear looked boredly into the distance and opened his mouth.

“Come to think of it, there was a car that ran away earlier. Are they with these guys too?”
“Yeah, they are. Apparently, they’re Seekers from a terrorist organization that’s been running rampant in this city. They had a lot of people held captive.”
“I’ve heard bad rumors about Australia, but it seems they’re true. In that case, we can’t just let them go.”

The man raised his spear high. Then, several spearheads shot out, soaring into the sky.
The man, not understanding what was happening, could only watch the spearheads disappear.

◇◇◇

The six spearheads, clad in Lightning, chased after the two cars carrying the Seekers.
The cars were traveling at over 100 kilometers per hour, but the speed of the spearheads far exceeded that, and they approached the cars, emitting crackling plasma.
The spearheads pierced the back doors, roofs, and rear fenders.
The rear of the cars were instantly destroyed, and they flipped over violently. The cars rolled along the public road. The Seekers inside couldn’t comprehend what was happening.
The cars exploded and burst into flames, killing everyone except those who were thrown out.
Even those who survived suffered severe injuries and could barely move. The six spearheads, having destroyed their targets, ceased their pursuit and returned in the direction they came from.

“Oh, here they come! They’re back!”

As Akito raised his spear high, the six spearheads docked with the spear, returning it to its original form.

“For now, I’ve taken care of the ones who ran away. It’d be troublesome if they called for reinforcements. So, is it just this guy left?”

Akito stared at the middle-aged Seeker, who was crouching on the ground. From his demeanor, he was probably the leader of the group who came here.
Akito pointed his index finger at the middle-aged man.
Lightning burst forth and struck the man directly. The man cried out, “Higya!” and lost consciousness.

“He won’t be waking up for a while now.”

Satisfied, Akito slung Gae Bolg over his shoulder and shifted his gaze.

“By the way, who’s that lady over there? Don’t tell me you made a girlfriend as soon as you came to Australia?”
“Huh!?”

Yuma turned around to see Anzai looking at him with concern. Thinking that Akito was saying something outrageous, Yuma glared at him.

“What are you talking about! She’s the one who helped me when I was lost. Where have you been all this time?”
“Where, you say…? We were on a submarine that was about to sink, and we somehow managed to reach the coast. A few people died, but most of them are safe.”

Yuma couldn’t help but raise his voice at Akito’s words.

“W-Wait a minute! A submarine was about to sink? What happened!?”
“Huh?”

Akito frowned, his brow furrowed.

“What are you saying! You’re the one who protected the submarine that was about to be destroyed by Monsters using the power of Liquid Metal, Yuma! Did you forget!?”
“I did? I protected the submarine!?”

Yuma and Akito stared at each other, frozen. After a moment, Akito began scratching his head vigorously.

“What is it? You’ve lost your memory. I can’t believe it…”
“Sorry, I really don’t remember anything. I don’t know what happened or why I woke up on the coast of Australia.”

Ignoring Yuma’s confusion, Akito turned his gaze back to Anzai.

“Anyway, we can talk about that later… what are you going to do about the lady over there?”
“Ah, right…”

Yuma also looked at Anzai. She was standing there, looking anxious. They had dragged her into the battle between Seekers. It was only natural that she was afraid.
Yuma walked toward Anzai.

“Anzai-san, that guy is my friend. I’m going with him from here on out.”
“But…”
“I want Anzai-san to go back to Brisbane. It’s dangerous for you to stay here.”

Anzai looked hesitant, but eventually nodded in agreement.

“…I understand. I’ll go back and tell Luna and Wilson-san that Yuma-kun has safely reached his destination.”
“Please do.”

Anzai got into the car she had parked at the entrance to the city and started the engine.

“Goodbye, Yuma-kun. Please don’t push yourself too hard.”
“Yes, Anzai-san, please be careful too.”

Yuma watched the car drive away, gradually disappearing into the distance.

“Well then, shall we go, Yuma? Rui is waiting in the Black Dungeon.”
“Yeah, I understand.”

Yuma was allowed to ride behind Gae Bolg. The giant spear, carrying the two of them, floated up with a whoosh and flew toward the southern sky.
