Chapter 380: The Mana Index of Three People
Albert was smiling cheerfully in front of the control panel.
Yuma, looking slightly nervous, was about to step forward when—
“Hold on, hold on! Since we’re here, why don’t you measure mine first? I haven’t had my ‘Mana Index’ measured lately. It’s perfect timing.”
Akito grabbed Yuma’s shoulder and leaped forward. He looked at Albert and asked, “That okay with you?”
“Yes, I don’t mind. I’ll measure all three of you.”
“Alright! Then I’ll go first!”
Akito walked briskly and entered the giant Measuring Device. Yuma frowned but thought, “Oh well,” and stepped back.
As Albert operated the panel, the ‘Ring’ above the Measuring Device slowly descended.
The rotating Ring emitted light, measuring Akito’s entire body.
After a while, the Ring descended to Akito’s feet and returned to the top. It stopped at the top, the device’s lamp turned off, and the iron fence opened automatically.
“Oh! Is it already done? That was pretty fast.”
Akito, who had come outside, turned his gaze to Albert.
“Hey, old man! How was it? My ‘Mana Index’. It was pretty high, right?”
Albert smiled cheerfully and gave a thumbs up.
“Yes, you got an amazing score. Your Mana Index is… 47,821.”
A murmur arose from the Prometheus members near the entrance. Mia’s eyes widened with disbelief.
“47,000… A Mana Index higher than Albert’s…”
The commotion spread not only to Mia but to all the Prometheus Seekers.
As the buzz continued, Rui raised his hand.
“Then, may I go next?”
“You’re going to measure too?”
Yuma frowned.
“The purpose is to measure my Mana!”
“Well, it’s just a side thing. I haven’t measured mine in a long time either, so I don’t know how much my Mana has increased. Is it okay? Yuma.”
“Hmm, I guess it can’t be helped.”
Yuma reluctantly agreed, and Albert replied, “Yes, it’s fine,” so they decided to measure Rui’s Mana Index next.
Rui entered the giant Measuring Device and exhaled.
A large Ring descended from above. The Ring went from Rui’s head to his feet, measuring his Mana.
In about thirty seconds, the Ring returned to its original position, and the iron fence at the front of the device opened.
Rui came out of the device and looked at Albert.
“How was it? Did the measurement go well?”
Albert, asked by Rui, smiled broadly.
“It was measured properly. Your Mana Index is 45,877. Along with Tennoji, it’s quite high.”
The Prometheus members groaned again. Rui also seemed to have exceeded Albert’s Mana Index.
Pleased that his Mana Index had increased more than he had expected, Rui returned to Yuma and the others.
“Next, it’s finally my turn!”
Yuma clapped his hands sharply and headed towards the Mana Index Meter. Seeing it up close, he realized its size even more.
–It’s really huge. It seems like it can measure my Mana.
Yuma entered the Measuring Device and waited patiently for the device to start operating.
The machine began to glow, and a Ring descended from the top. The Ring rotated slowly and stopped near the floor.
Albert, who was looking at the control panel, frowned.
“This is…”
The Ring returned to its original position, and Yuma exited the Mana Measurement Device.
“How is it? Albert-san.”
Since they both had Earbud Translators in their ears, there were no problems with the conversation. Albert looked at Yuma and smiled wryly.
“I thought your Mana was high, but not this high. It wouldn’t have been measurable without this Measuring Device.”
“So…”
“Yes, it was measurable. Your Mana Index is… 842,620. Your colorless Mana seems to be around 80,000.”
Mia, who was standing at a distance, opened her mouth and said, “What!?”
The Prometheus members also couldn’t believe it and looked at each other. Rui and Akito looked at Yuma as if it were natural.
“Well, that’s about right. Even so, 80,000 colorless Mana means you’ve converted quite a bit into Magical Power.”
“That just means you’ve become that much stronger. Mana is meaningless if it remains colorless.”
Yuma returned to Rui and the others and looked at his right hand.
“Indeed, I feel like I’ve become quite a bit stronger. If only I could use Resurrection Magic…”
Yuma clenched his right hand and made a grim expression.
“Still seems difficult?”
To Rui’s question, Yuma nodded silently.
“I’ve tried it several times with the Magical Power I have now, but there’s no response at all. Either I’m not mastering it, or Resurrection Magic doesn’t exist in the first place… Either way, there’s no guarantee that it will work even if I incorporate a new White Magic Gem.”
Albert called out to the silent trio.
“Is something troubling you? I’ll listen if you want to talk about it.”
Hearing those words, Yuma and the others exchanged glances, wondering what to do.
◇◇◇
“I see… Resurrection Magic. If something like that existed, the world would be turned upside down.”
Yuma and the others were walking down the corridor of the facility to return to the command room. The group consisted of Yuma, Rui, Akito, Albert, and Mia.
Yuma told Albert the reason why he was traveling around the world.
Mia also showed interest and opened her mouth.
“But, does Recovery Magic have such an effect? I’ve never heard of Second Stratum or Third Tier Magic of Recovery Magic…”
Hearing Mia’s words, Yuma thought that was probably the case. Even Recovery Magic has few users.
There probably aren’t any humans who have ingested a large amount of White Magic Gems either.
Yuma raised his right arm and opened his palm.
“What I know now is that the White First Stratum is Recovery Magic, and the Second Stratum is Light Magic.”
“Light Magic?”
Albert asked with a puzzled look. Yuma said, “It’s like this,” and infused Magical Power into his hand while walking.
Light gathered in his right hand and took the shape of a Longsword.
“Something like this.”
Albert was surprised by Yuma’s Light Magic, and Mia nodded in agreement, saying, “The weapons of angels.”
“The Third Tier is Self-Regeneration. Even if you suffer a major injury, you’ll automatically recover.”
Albert’s eyes widened at this story.
“It’s the same ability as the Abyssal Monsters. To think you can do that…”
“However, I don’t know about the Fourth Tier and above. If I swallow the White Magic Gem I received here, I might be able to use it.”
Yuma and the others re-entered the command room where Charles was waiting. To incorporate over 26,000 White Magic Gems.
