Black Steel King – Chapter 410

Episode 405: The Angels’ Destination

Sophia was at the International Dungeon Research Organization headquarters in Tel Aviv.
She was holding discussions with Maya Berger, the head of the IDR, regarding future Dungeon Conquest strategies.
It was a superficial meeting, merely exchanging opinions, but it held significant meaning for Sophia.

–If this conquest succeeds, my name will resound throughout the world. I’ll be able to seize the position of chief researcher at the IDR. No, it’s entirely possible to reach an even higher position.

Sophia chuckled to herself as she walked down the facility’s long corridor.
At that moment, she noticed a figure walking towards her. Sophia narrowed her eyes slightly. It was Ethan Noble and his assistant.
Upon noticing Sophia, Ethan flashed a bright smile.

“Well, Sophia. Fancy meeting you here. I thought you were glued to the Dungeon.”

Sophia scoffed softly.

“I’m not a Seeker, you know. There’s nothing I can do by staying there. I need to do everything I can.”

Ethan nodded, saying, “I see,” and met Sophia’s gaze.

“By the way, how’s the Dungeon Conquest going? So many people are involved. I hope it goes well.”
“You needn’t worry, Dr. Noble. The conquest is proceeding extremely smoothly. We’re just waiting for good news.”
“Is that so? That’s good to hear.”

Sophia felt inexplicably irritated by Ethan’s smile, which seemed to conceal his true thoughts.
In the world of Dungeon research, no one surpasses Ethan Noble. That’s probably the source of his composure.

–But that’s about to end. I’ll definitely prove you wrong.

Sophia gave a light bow, saying, “Well then,” and was about to leave.
However, she noticed a researcher rushing by and stopped again.

“What? What’s wrong?”

She could immediately sense that something unusual was happening.

–Could it be? Did something happen in the Dungeon!?

Sophia followed the rushing researchers. When she reached a large window facing north, the scene outside caught her eye.
A pillar of light ascended into the northern sky. Sophia paled.

–That’s definitely in the direction of Orpheus… Something did happen!

Sophia turned on her heel, intending to head to the site immediately. At that moment, she saw Ethan Noble walking towards her.

“Where are you going?”

Sophia stopped at Ethan’s words.

“I’m going to gather information. I need to understand exactly what’s happening…”
“I think it’s too late for that.”
“Huh?”

Sophia furrowed her brow and glared at Ethan.

“What do you mean by that!?”
“That light probably means that Monsters from inside the Dungeon have emerged. And quite powerful ones, I imagine.”
“Could it be… the White King has appeared!?”

Sophia’s expression tightened instantly. Ethan closed his eyes and shook his head slightly.

“I don’t know. In any case, it’s best not to go there now. Well, I won’t stop you if you want to die.”

Sophia gritted her teeth. She hadn’t expected things to turn out like this.
What happened to the Seekers? What about the politicians from various countries who were stationed around the Dungeon? Who will take responsibility for this? Could it be her!?
She couldn’t figure it out, no matter how much she thought. The only thing she knew for sure was that her bright future had vanished.
Sophia felt dizzy and collapsed weakly on the spot.

The Israeli government swiftly assessed the situation. They dispatched the military and began investigating what had happened at Orpheus.
What the soldiers who approached the Dungeon saw were four angels floating in the sky. They spread their six beautiful wings and looked down at the ground.
Footage of the scene was immediately sent to the IRD headquarters, where Ethan and other researchers confirmed it.

“It seems it’s not the White King after all.”

Maya Berger gave Ethan a puzzled look.

“Then what are those four angels? They’re individuals we’ve never seen before.”
“They’re probably high-ranking angels. Like the Four Archangels from the Bible. If I were to name them, I’d say Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, and Uriel.”

The other researchers remained silent, unable to say anything to Ethan, who spoke calmly. Maya looked at the footage again.
The four angels were floating, but they showed no signs of moving.
It was as if they were guarding the Dungeon. Would they not attack unless attacked first?
Maya glared at the footage with a stern expression. Then, countless beams of light rose from the Dungeon.

“What is that…?”

The eyes of everyone watching were glued to the scene. It was angels emerging. The angels inside Orpheus were rising up.
Ethan pushed up the bridge of his glasses with his finger.

“These are regular angels. There are so many. I’d say there are at least five thousand.”

The angels rose into the sky one after another, formed a circle in the air, and then headed east in unison.

“Where are they going?”

Maya looked around at the researchers, seeking an answer.
However, the researchers remained silent, merely bewildered. The only one who answered Maya’s question was Ethan Noble.

“I’m not certain, but…”
“What is it, Ethan? Do you have any idea where the angels are headed?”
“No, I can’t say for sure.”
“Tell me anyway.”

In response to Maya’s resolute tone, Ethan raised both hands slightly as if surrendering.

“The angels went east. If that’s the case, then their destination is… probably Japan.”
