Episode 407: Anomaly in the Sky
Around the time Yuma and the others were meeting with Honda-san, Tennoji and Ishikawa were in a car heading towards Elceed’s headquarters. After conquering the Red Dungeon, they were making rounds to various government agencies to report their findings.
Ishikawa, who was driving, glanced at his companion.
“Did you hear, Tennoji? Mitaka Yuma-san is supposed to be coming to headquarters today.”
“Yes, I know. To think he conquered a Dungeon all by himself. I don’t doubt his abilities, but having the results so vividly displayed is, admittedly, disconcerting.”
Ishikawa smiled faintly as he looked ahead.
“Akiyama-san and the others who went into the Dungeon with him were making a fuss, asking, ‘Who is that guy?!’ Apparently, he’s mastering six types of magic and mowing down Monsters, and he can transform into Black Armor. Well, it’s only natural they’d be confused since we didn’t explain it in detail.”
“You didn’t tell Akiyama-san and the others about Mitaka-san?”
“Could you have given a convincing explanation, Tennoji? I certainly couldn’t. To think there’s a Seeker like Mitaka-san, it would sound like a joke.”
“Well, that’s true.”
Tennoji, sitting in the passenger seat, shifted his gaze to the outside. As he watched the passing buildings, he thought, ‘It’s a good thing Mitaka-san isn’t an enemy.’
Just as he was thinking that, Tennoji felt a strange sensation.
“What’s this?”
Ishikawa, seeing Tennoji looking around in confusion, asked with a puzzled tone, “What’s wrong?”
“Don’t you feel it, Ishikawa? The presence of strong Mana gathering.”
“Mana? No, I don’t feel anything…”
Ishikawa wore a perplexed expression, but at Tennoji’s urging, he pulled the car over to the side of the road. As the two got out of the car, Tennoji surveyed the sky.
“They’re here… and in incredible numbers.”

At the same time—Yuma, Rui, and Akito-san were leaving Elceed’s headquarters.
Akito-san asked, “Now that we’ve finished reporting to Honda-san, what are we going to do?” Yuma-san pondered, “Hmm, let’s see…”
“I’m going to think about what to do from now on. Whether to dive into another Dungeon, or go overseas to collect White Magic Gems…”
“Well, let’s get some food for now. You’re coming with us, Yuma, right?”
“I don’t mind, but—”
As Yuma-san answered, Akito-san’s expression suddenly clouded over. Yuma-san immediately noticed the change.
As the two of them glared at the western sky, Rui-san asked, “What’s wrong?”
“The air is wavering. Something’s coming this way.”
“Ah, I feel it too. A whole lot of Mana is heading this way. A tremendous number of Monsters!”
Rui-san also stared at the sky with a tense expression.
At first, it was just a slight change in the surroundings, but it was rapidly intensifying.
Rui-san, having detected the “Mana,” hurriedly ran towards the headquarters building. Akito-san followed Rui-san, running.
“I’m just going to grab my weapon! Wait for me, Yuma!”
Hearing Akito-san’s words, Yuma-san was bewildered, “Even if you tell me to wait…”
The surrounding air became even more stagnant, and the sky above seemed to brighten slightly. After a while, Rui-san and Akito-san returned.
Rui-san was carrying two Katanas, and Akito-san had Gae Bolg resting on his shoulder.
“Oh, I’m glad I left Gae Bolg here. I was planning to send it to Fameel tomorrow for maintenance.”
Akito-san grinned and shielded his eyes with his hand as he looked at the sky.
“But what kind of Monsters are they? They don’t feel particularly strong individually. Flying in the sky, and there are so many of them… Birds? Not Dragonkind, I hope.”
Akito-san stopped there. He had seen a white shadow flying in the sky.
The figures were swaying as they danced in the sky. Yuma-san immediately knew what they were. He had seen them enough in the Hokkaido Dungeon to hate them.
“Angels! There are so many Angels!”
Not only Yuma-san, but Rui-san and Akito-san were also puzzled. The “White Dungeon” in Japan had been confirmed to have disappeared recently.
Yuma-san, who had conquered the White Dungeon, was even more confused.
‘What is this? Where did those Angels come from?’
The Angels gathered one after another, covering the sky. Even Akito-san, who had been enjoying the sight, began to look strained.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! How many are coming? This is no small number!”
The sky over Tokyo was filled with white Angels. Not hundreds or thousands. Just within sight, there were tens of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands.
As the three were taken aback, a black SUV headed towards them.
It slammed on the brakes in front of Yuma-san and the others, drifting to a stop.
Tennoji Hayato-san and Ishikawa-san got out of the car.
“Hey! What’s going on?! What is this situation…?”
Tennoji-san asked, but no one could answer. Akito-san frowned and glared at Tennoji-san.
“There’s no way we’d know! Suddenly, a whole bunch of Angels appeared out of nowhere!”
Tennoji-san and Ishikawa-san approached Yuma-san and the others and looked at the sky again.
“With this many Angels… they must have come from the White Dungeons overseas.”
Hearing Ishikawa-san’s words, Akito-san gritted his teeth.
“This number doesn’t feel like they just came from the surrounding Dungeons. If we’re unlucky, they might have come from White Dungeons all over the world, right?”
“No, that’s impossible…”
Ishikawa-san was at a loss for words. The number of Angels covering the sky was extraordinary. It certainly couldn’t be explained by them coming from just ten or twenty Dungeons.
Tennoji-san narrowed his eyes and stared intently at the Angels.
“I can see Archangels and Principalities. They seem to be relatively low-ranking Angels, but with that many, they’re a threat!”
Everyone fell silent. Why had the Angels gathered? There was no answer, but Tennoji-san suddenly looked at Yuma-san.
Noticing this, Yuma-san looked puzzled.
“W-What is it?”
Tennoji-san opened his mouth with a serious look.
“Those Angels… could they be targeting you?”
