Black Steel King – Chapter 423

The angels attacked all at once.
Yuma somehow twisted his body to evade, but he couldn’t dodge all the dozens of angels.
He was grabbed by the angels that rushed in, and they grappled in mid-air.
Yuma raised his face and looked around.
Many Seekers were falling. This isn’t the time for this. I have to help them quickly—he thought, but he was being pulled further and further away by the angels.
Rui and Akito also seemed strange. The two who should be able to fly were somehow being dragged down as they fell.
What’s going on?
But there was no way to confirm. Yuma was swallowed by the swarm of angels and carried deeper into the floor.

◇◇◇

“What the heck?! What’s going on?!”

Akito, who was riding Gae Bolg, lost his balance and was thrown into the air. It seemed like something was pulling him.
It seemed to be the same for Rui. When Akito glanced over, Rui had lost his balance and was falling.
All the Israeli Seekers were also thrown into the air. It would be impossible to survive in this situation.

—That’s why you should go home, Yuma!

Akito gritted his teeth. The surrounding scenery had also changed.
The world lost its color, and transformed into a white space. Everything seemed to turn into light. Akito, not knowing what was happening, just fell down, down, down.

◇◇◇

“…Ugh… Ugh…”

Akito, waking up, realized that he was lying face down. He shook his head, raised his upper body, and looked around.
Rui and the Israeli Seekers were also lying on the floor. Some were not moving, but some were getting up.
It seemed they had been saved.

“Why are we okay after falling from that height? Even I shouldn’t be unscathed…”

Akito stood up and examined his body, but couldn’t find even a light wound. He was completely unharmed. Had some kind of force acted?
Akito scanned his surroundings. They were in a pure white space. The surroundings were surrounded by white walls, and even when he looked up, he couldn’t see the ceiling.
It was as if they were trapped at the bottom of a giant cylinder.
As Akito stood still, Rui, who had been lying down, stood up and walked towards him.

“Akito, are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. More importantly, Rui, where did Yuma go? I can’t find him.”
“Yeah, I couldn’t see clearly, but Yuma was being attacked by angels. I think he’s fighting somewhere else.”
“Seriously?! So, does that mean it’s just us here?”

Akito and Rui shifted their gaze to the center of the space.
There was a huge white pillar. An unprecedented amount of Mana overflowed from the pillar that stretched endlessly high.
Rui and Akito slowly approached the pillar.
The Israeli Seekers who had fallen around them gradually got up and approached the pillar.
Many people gathered around the pillar, holding their breath. The pillar was translucent like amber. There was something inside it.
It looked like a person, but it had wings on its back. It was about one meter eighty in size.
It wasn’t clear, but there was no doubt it was an angel.

“What do you think, Rui… this monster?”
“Yeah, it’s not normal. More than anything, it’s emitting Mana that I’ve never felt before. It’s powerful, or rather, ominous, anyway, it’s Mana that makes you feel pressure.”

In appearance alone, it was the lowest-ranking angel. But it was clear that it wasn’t.
As Rui and Akito remained bewildered, they heard the voices of the Israeli Seekers.

“H-hey… isn’t that the White King?”
“This is the strongest monster!?”

A buzz spread around. If they thought the subjugation target was right in front of them, it was understandable that they would be restless. But it was too dangerous to approach.

“Akito!”
“Yeah, I know.”

They didn’t know if this monster was the White King. But they had to avoid fighting the White King without Yuma.

“Hey, you guys calm down! Get away from the pillar!”
“Everyone, please be quiet. Slowly back away!”

Even though Akito and Rui spoke to them, they couldn’t suppress the Seekers’ buzz.

“If we defeat this guy, we can clear this Dungeon!”
“It can’t move, isn’t this our chance?!”
“Let’s do it! We’re going to defeat the White King!!”

The Israeli Seekers successively readied their weapons and poured in magic. Akito and Rui grimaced.

“Hey, stop it!”
“Don’t provoke it!!”

Even though the two shouted, the Seekers didn’t stop. They fired flames, wind, Lightning Strike, and Water Bullet at the pillar. The magic collided one after another and exploded.
Akito and Rui protected their faces and glared at the pillar. As the smoke that covered the surroundings cleared, the translucent pillar gradually became visible.
There were no scratches on the beautiful pillar. Of course, the angel inside it didn’t move either.

“That was close! What are they doing, those guys! If that’s really the White King, it wouldn’t be strange if we were all killed!”
“We were saved by the weak power of the magic. What would have happened if the pillar had been damaged…”

Rui stared ahead, there were no scratches on the pillar. But he felt like the angel inside had moved slightly. He thought it was his imagination, but it wasn’t.

“H-hey… Rui.”
“Yeah, I know. The atmosphere has clearly changed.”

An immense fluctuation of Mana. Akito and Rui took a step, two steps back. Their instincts warned them that they shouldn’t be here.
Contrary to the two, the Israeli Seekers didn’t notice the change.
They were raising their weapons to attack again.

“You idiots! Run away!!”

When Akito shouted, a white, beautiful hand came out from inside the translucent pillar.
