Episode 85: Giant Defeated
Yuma didn’t let up his attack, immediately dashing towards the Golem’s left leg. He moved with such incredible speed that the Golem couldn’t react.
This time, he slammed his left “Seiken Zuki (Straight Punch)” into the stone pillar-like leg.
A deafening roar echoed as the Golem’s leg cracked significantly. The monster staggered, and Yuma, to follow up with another attack, crouched low and kicked off the ground.
The ground beneath him exploded, and with that momentum, Yuma launched himself like a steel bullet.
He headbutted the giant’s jaw, the horn on his helmet striking and cracking the jaw. The monster couldn’t help but stumble.
A relentless three-hit combo. Yuma, having landed on the ground, glared at the enemy before him.
◇◇◇
“Amazing, that Yuma! He’s pushing back against that huge Golem!!”
The president, watching the fight, excitedly looked at Aisha. Aisha smiled fearlessly and nodded in agreement.
“Indeed… he seems to be getting better at using his power. But the limiter isn’t completely off yet. If he could release it 100%, it wouldn’t be anything like this.”
“He’s not even at full power with that?!”
The president looked at Yuma in amazement. Yuma ran in the opposite direction of the staggering Golem, creating distance.
“What’s he doing? He had the momentum going.”
Unlike the perplexed president, Aisha smirked.
“He seems to have something in mind. Sounds interesting.”
Yuma kicked off the ground and dashed towards the Golem. He gained momentum with the running start, accelerating as he went.
He jumped straight at the Golem’s massive belly.
Curling his body into a ball and spinning, Yuma used his “Liquid Metallization” ability to melt his body into a gelatinous sphere, then transformed into a giant iron ball with spikes.
The next moment—a sound like lightning struck, and the iron ball collided with the Golem.
The Golem’s chest shattered from the impact, fragments of rock scattering everywhere.
The gigantic monster couldn’t maintain its balance and toppled backward.
With a heavy thud and a cloud of dust, the iron ball, having collided with the Golem and been thrown into the air, turned back into a gelatinous sphere, then transformed into a humanoid figure clad in metal armor.
Yuma spun around and landed on the ground.
“He did it! Yuma’s overwhelming it!!”
The president’s eyes widened at the attack method of changing his body. Aisha was also impressed.
“Fufu, he’s starting to master his abilities. Once he does that, there’s no stopping him.”
Yuma ran up the fallen Golem’s body. He extended the Longsword stored in the back of his right hand and thrust it into the damaged chest as if punching it.
The sword pierced deeply, and large cracks spread in all directions.
Golems stop moving when their “Core” is destroyed. The Golems he had encountered so far mostly had their cores in their chest or head.
He assumed it would be one of the two this time as well, and tried to destroy it with all his might, but—
“Ugh!?”
Yuma’s body was suddenly restrained. He was grabbed by the Golem’s left hand.
He was lifted up, and the extraordinary grip strength squeezed him. His steel body creaked and groaned.
“Guh, this…”
Yuma put strength into his body. The moment he roared like a war cry, hundreds of black protrusions extended from his entire body.
Not just spikes. Longer “Longswords” with increased destructive power.
When the swords pierced the hand, the grip loosened for a moment. Yuma used his “Liquid Metallization” ability to turn his body into a gelatinous state, and dripped out of the Golem’s hand.
Returning to his “Humanoid” form, he immediately ran up to the Golem’s face.
—If there’s no “Core” in the chest, then aim for the head.
Yuma raised both hands, clasping them together above his head. The joined hands lost their boundary and became a metal sphere.
The sphere quickly changed shape, becoming a large axe.
“UOOOOOOOOOO!!”
The swung axe dug into the Golem’s face, shattering nearly half of it. Still trying to move, the giant was struck again with the axe at its neck.
The rock cracked greatly from the neck to the chest, and the impact caused cracks to spread throughout its body.
Even so, the Golem didn’t die. It tried to grab him again with its tattered left hand.
Yuma turned around and swung the axe with all his might. The Golem’s hand was severed, and the wrist spun as it fell to the ground with a thud.
Yuma looked at the Golem again, raising the axe high above his head.
The red veins of the Bloodstained Ore (Bloody Ore) flowing through his body increased in brilliance. His body temperature rose, and Yuma felt the power overflowing from within.
—Now, he could exert his maximum power.
Without hesitation, he swung the giant axe down and slammed it into the Golem’s chest. A tremendous sound of destruction, and an impact that ran through the cave.
Whether the Golem’s “Core” was near its chest, or the damage to its body exceeded the critical point, the giant monster completely stopped moving.
Its body crumbled, and each shattered rock turned into sand.
“Haa… haa… I did it.”
Yuma, standing on the sand, returned his arms to normal and simply stared at the disappearing sand. The power drained from his body. It seemed that time had passed and “Metallization” had worn off.
“Yuma!”
The president and Aisha, who had been hiding in the shadows of the rocks, rushed over.
“You did it. Is your body okay?”
Told by the president, he looked over his body, but there were no particular problems.
“I seem to be okay.”
Hearing that, Aisha smiled.
“To use that much power without any problems, I admire your abilities once again.”
“Aisha-san. Was I able to properly release the limiter?”
“No… not completely yet. You probably released about twice your normal power, but it’s far from the maximum.”
“I see, it’s still difficult.”
Yuma smiled wryly and scratched his cheek.
“Still, you have the basic physical strength of your trained body. Plus the Physical Enhancement from Iron (Metal), Lead, and Silver. And the nearly fifteen times “Superpower” of the Bloodstained Ore (Bloody Ore). In addition to the muscle limiter release doubling your muscle strength. I think you were exerting more than thirty times your normal power. I think you’re well into the realm of a ‘Superman’.”
“That much…”
“Well, when you exert that much power, it becomes difficult to control, but you’ll get better at it if you keep training. You should continue to have Kotaro-san train you.”
“Yes, I will!”
“You bet, leave it to me.”
While the president was ruffling Yuma’s head, saying “Well done!”, Aisha looked at the disappearing Golem sand.
“That is…”
Aisha crouched down and carefully picked up something she found among the sand.
It was a “Silver Magic Ore” larger than any she had ever seen.
