Chapter 320: Overabundance of Attributes
“Spells are meant to pique the interest of Spirits. It’s like a play on words, but the important part is the Magic Circle. When it comes to larger scales, meticulous preparations are required.”
Wait. This is troubling! But still, I’m intrigued.
“Behold! Especially the 【Teleportation】 that moves one to places unseen; it is the culmination of my Bloodline.”
Master Linlin brushed away the moss from a massive stone pillar—so large that it hardly looked like a pillar up close.
A Magic Circle carved into the stone appeared. It continued onto the ground, where geometric patterns and lines of incantation were covered by moss.
“Below this lies my Bloodline’s resting place.”
“Whaaat?”
A grave!?
“The artifacts used in magic—souls, bones, blood, Magic Stones, vessels blessed by Spirits—are varied, but considering compatibility, it ultimately comes down to the lives of my Bloodline.”
Suddenly, we veered from fluffy fantasy into the realm of dark magic.
“Could we keep it a bit lighter, please?”
“This is not a sacrifice, so rest assured. One day, I too shall find my rest in some distant land for the sake of my Bloodline.”
“I can’t replicate that, so please, a bit lighter.”
I repeated it because it was important.
“Hmph, was it you who thought it would be easy to use?”
Master Linlin snorted and shot me a cold glance.
“To begin with, I don’t have a Bloodline—”
Wait, I do have one, especially since it wouldn’t be a problem to bury them. I can use 【Teleportation】, after all. Ah, but…
“Hey. You’re not thinking something ominous, are you?”
Dinoss uncrossed his arms and spoke to me.
“I was just thinking that some Hero in a certain place might be coaxing a powerful Mage to wipe out my entire Bloodline right about now.”
“Don’t say such scary things!”
Dinoss shouted.
“……”
The Butler is deep in thought!
“Wait… you don’t actually have a lead on this, do you?”
Dinoss looked alarmed!
“Indeed, the country that Shulm used as a foothold had a small nation that cast a large-scale spell about two years ago. Let’s gather some information.”
The Butler stated.
Now that I think about it, the presence of the Black Spirit and strong Demon Beasts during the Lizard Hunting expedition might have been caused by that large-scale magic… If that’s the case, I brought this upon myself.
“A Hero? What does that matter? No matter how much power they possess, 【Teleportation】 is not knowledge that can be easily accessed.”
Master Linlin cast a cold gaze at the two of them. Is 【Teleportation】 some kind of secret technique of the clan?
“The first Hero possesses 【All Magic】, a cheat that allows him to use every spell recorded in this world.”
Considering that magic consumes Spirits, the conditions written down must be met. If my 【Teleportation】 is recorded somewhere, my sister could probably use it too. Though, it’s a mystery whether my 【Teleportation】 even counts as magic.
“The Magic Circle and incantation are separate. Even if one is stolen, it won’t activate.”
I felt a bit intimidated, but Master Linlin still exuded confidence.
“Is there any meaning in separating them when they can activate without being seen or read?”
I couldn’t help but press on.
“……! My Bloodline’s secret arts!”
He slumped down!
“Just because I thought that doesn’t mean I’m not interested in 【Teleportation】 yet.”
I figured that in this inconvenient world, it wouldn’t take long for anyone to realize its importance.
“You’ve got some deep roots.”
Dinoss sighed and said.
“What do you mean?”
“When Lizil brought up the Bloodline and said it was buried, you turned pale, but when it comes to Heroes, you’re unfazed?”
“…… Now that you mention it, that’s true.”
Anyone involved with my sister, whether enemy or ally, seems to be completely ignored. Especially not caring about life and death might be a problem… It feels like there’s a thin layer separating me from this world, almost like a lack of immersion.
As I pondered, Dinoss lightly thumped the top of my head with his large hand.
“Facing the source of your stress can be beneficial, but it’s also important to distance yourself from it. Lord Jean, you’ve become more expressive since we first met.”
The Butler said with a gentle smile.
“I don’t know why, but love and hate are just different vectors that bind you to someone, so be careful. And hey, make sure to comfort me too!”
Master Linlin stood up, lazily tossing her hair back. Something about her atmosphere felt different.
“Oh, finally made an appearance, Haulon.”
Dinoss said with a grin.
“Haulon?”
I felt like the name of the Mage I had heard was different. If it was Linlin or Lanlan, I would definitely remember.
“Pretty boy, nice to meet you. I’m Haulon Rizilmoon.”
The intimidating old man who was Master Linlin just a moment ago winked at me.
“This one switches personalities. And this is the original personality.”
Dinoss said with a mischievous expression.
Intimidating, likely to hit me with a staff, a Mage, an old man, and now a changed personality into a flamboyant one! Isn’t that too many attributes!? For now, I had to ask.
“Why is this one Haulon?”
This one should be Linlin, logically speaking!
