Comfy Mountain Life – Chapter 331

Chapter 331: Lesson Concluded

“Alright, that’s enough. There’s nothing more surprising than the King’s Branch, so it’s fine. Yes, it’s fine.” Haulon pressed his fist against his forehead, reassuring himself.

“If you want to understand this, first throw away your own values. Anything can happen.” Karn stood with his arms crossed, glaring at Haulon. A moment of silence hung between them.

“Yeah, I don’t think anything could surprise me more than the King’s Branch. Probably. So, can I use magic now?” I wanted to fulfill the purpose of my visit soon.

“You…” Dinoss began.

“I didn’t think there would be a second time,” Retze murmured.

“The second time seems like it would be even more shocking,” the Butler chimed in, picking up on Retze’s comment.

“Then, let’s start with Fire.”

“Sure.” I reached into my pocket and pulled out one of the Magic Circles.

“Don’t show it to the opponent! If they have sharp eyes, they’ll read the formation. It’s not good if they can predict your next move in battle, you know?” I thought it might be better to let the surrounding Spirits see it, but it seemed that wasn’t the case.

“The Spirits can see the shape of the Magic Circle imbued with Magic Power through the parchment, so it’s fine.”

“I see.”

Listening to the conversation, I prepared to try again. I had to be careful, careful not to let them see.

“‘What I desire is a fist-sized flame, aiming for the pointed target, the cost is an increase of ten percent in Magic Power consumption, Fireball!’” After incorporating various opinions, I ended up with a spell that prioritized safety.

A shockwave-like transparent force sliced through the air, knocking down the target branch.

“Weren’t you just saying Fire?” Dinoss pointed out.

“Did you change your mind, or did you mix up the Magic Circle you were using?” Retze tilted his head in confusion.

“Wait. Why are you wishing for fire and using Wind Cutter…? You just said fire, and you called it a Fireball, right?” Haulon looked bewildered.

“…It seems they were being considerate. I was careful not to let them know which magic I was using.” Apparently, they were trying to avoid eavesdropping on my inner thoughts.

“I don’t understand…”

“Next time, next time it will be Fire!” Don’t abandon me!

“‘What I desire is a fist-sized flame, aiming for the pointed target, the cost is an increase of ten percent in Magic Power consumption, Fireball!—Whoa! Cancel that!’” Countless fist-sized flames erupted around me.

“Stop it!”

“That’s dangerous!!!!” Karn and Dinoss shouted in unison.

“I forgot to specify the quantity.” My heart raced at the thought of causing massive deforestation.

“What’s going on with your Magic Power?!”

“Well, even though it was agreed upon, I once completed contracts with the Three Entities Known as Gods all at once.” Karn, who usually didn’t speak much, was explaining things today.

“Thanks to that, I haven’t collapsed from Magic Power Depletion lately.”

“Seriously, what kind of Magic Power do you have…?” Haulon looked somewhat exasperated.

By the way, when I looked around now, the Spirits I had named in the Forest were gathering eagerly, ready to lend a hand, and the pressure was intense.

“Shouldn’t we just give up? I can only see a future of accidents ahead.”

“Dinoss, that’s terrible.” If I didn’t rehearse properly here, I’d be anxious about using magic in front of others!

“I think we should be cautious.” Even the Butler chimed in!

“Honestly, it looks like you’re more confused than the Spirits, Gene. If you’re not good with the steps of magic and they’re being considerate, why not just rely on the way you’ve been doing it in your heart?” Since it wasn’t a wide-area spell, Retze casually suggested.

“Whoa!?” Teacher Retze!

“I’m about to use a spell, so please give me a normal Fireball.”

“‘What I desire is one fist-sized flame, aiming for the pointed target, the cost is an increase of ten percent in Magic Power consumption, Fireball!’”

The Fireball flew!

“Oh! A miracle!” Dinoss exclaimed.

“That was a splendid Fire!” The Butler clapped.

“You guys…” Haulon looked like he had a headache.

“Thanks for sticking with me. Thanks to you, I managed to pull it off somehow.” With Haulon’s guidance and Retze’s help, I had successfully managed to look normal. Thank you, Great Sage, thank you, Teacher Retze. And thanks to the three who watched over me.

“Isn’t my existence a bit odd?”

“The Magic Circles and spells were all possible because Haulon was here.” The Butler stated.

“None of that has anything to do with magic, right?!”

“Calm down, what you’re saying is harsh.” Karn soothed Haulon.

“Magic Circles and spells are usually related to magic.” The Butler stroked his beard.

“Thanks to that, it looks normal. I can’t use magic, but I’ll vouch for what I’ve seen.” Dinoss patted my back enthusiastically.

And so, I successfully concluded my magic lesson.
