Comfy Mountain Life – Chapter 474

Chapter 474: Namina

I think I probably experienced something similar to the Severance that I went through with Namina, which kept me from noticing the differences with the Ball of Light. But now, can I finally see the Divine Statue in Fortress City Anoma?

The Ball of Light is a Spirit born from battle, governing sword techniques and offensive magic. Despite being of the Light Attribute, it struggles with healing. Namina’s retainers, the zabuton, are primarily focused on recovery and healing.

Light and purity, the Virgin Goddess Namina—if what I was observing from the start was indeed the Ball of Light, then the target isn’t just me. It seems the Gods are involved too, and it’s likely much broader than I initially thought.

The fact that I can think about this means that the entity that cast the Severance on me might be closer in strength to me now. However, it’s said that when the range is wide, the effect diminishes. While it’s true that we’re getting closer, the exact difference in power remains a mystery.

Well, if our strengths are indeed approaching, it’s possible that I could end up having my power drained. I should create a Spirit Note and diligently distribute my energy. Considering what happened to the Wind Spirit that turned to stone and Rishu, it seems plausible.

Now, whether there’s someone out there or not, my tasks remain unchanged. Even if I’m in Shaka’s palm, I’ll enjoy delicious food, spread out ingredients to savor the cooking of others, and promote hygiene because I can’t stand smelly towns. I’ll spread convenient tools for a comfortable life, and travel to see beautiful landscapes.

On the bed in the attic, there’s a large tray. On the tray are cola, potato chips, chocolate, and sliced smoked octopus, all taken from the Food Storage.

I don’t usually eat on the bed, worried I might spill something, but right now, I feel like indulging in laziness.

Crunching thick-cut potato chips, I wash them down with cola. I savor the slightly bitter yet sweet baked chocolate. Munching on the smoked octopus.

Yeah, the octopus is a bit salty. I’ll have to make some myself later.

The contrast of salty and sweet, the change in texture. The fizz of the carbonated drink, a familiar taste.

It’s a frightening presence, but I can only be grateful to whoever provided the Food Storage. For now, I have no intention of opposing them. It’s probably not the Gods, right? They might be involved, but it’s clear that there are things mixed in that are far removed from what they govern.

Could it be that this entity was near the mountain on the island where I first arrived? I was taken to my House through Teleportation, so I can’t pinpoint the location, but as I wandered around, I realized that place isn’t on the map.

There’s no similar climate or terrain. It’s a place with many small islands and a relatively cold atmosphere. The north is too cold, and the northwest seems to have a different terrain. The areas influenced by the Gods should be on the map, yet they aren’t.

The things I received in exchange for my lifespan are all things I wished for during my survival. No, they were desperately needed if I were to live alone, and it felt almost too smooth to receive them, as if they were listening to me.

I dislike having my thoughts taken away, but I’ve also cast my own Severance! For now, I have no intention of exposing their existence or opposing them, so I’ll keep my distance. If the opportunity arises during my explorations, I might pick up some information.

For now, it seems like the southern tip of the Dragon Continent doesn’t have that first mountain, or something like that.

Finishing my snack, I prepare to get moving. Those potato chips were delicious.

“Where’s the famous place for green gemstones?”
I’ve come to visit the rental house again.

I need to gather information for when I go back to the Mailman’s town. In the living room, there’s a somewhat rare combination of Haulon and Chris.

“When it comes to green, it’s probably emerald? I don’t know about the mines, but it’s famous as the stone loved by the ancient queen of Es, and I think Es handles a lot of it.”

“Tourmaline and agate also come in green! The Demon Beasts around my hometown drop them. But, since it’s not a region with strong Demon Beasts, we rarely find large ones.”
Chris seems happy to share about his hometown.

“If we’re talking about Magic Stones, it might be from the sea Demon Beasts of the Harum Strait God?”
Most of the gemstones circulating in this world are Magic Stones.

Magic Stones are frequently used for magic or as energy to maintain the barriers of Temples. However, stronger Magic Stones are heavily influenced by Black Spirits, so they can be dangerous if not handled properly.

By the way, the order of value is Spirit’s Droplet, large natural stones, Magic Stones, and small natural stones. It can vary based on the strength of the Magic Stone and the type of natural stone. Large natural stones without impurities are purely rare, but they seem to have some use related to Spirits.

“Harum… I don’t really get it, Great Mage!”
Where is it?

“It’s the sea east of the Es River. It’s the narrow sea between the continents.”
Haulon explains the location from what I know.

“Oh! The place where Iruka appears!”
“Even if you don’t get it, you’ve been there…”

I was met with averted eyes!
