Comfy Mountain Life – Chapter 589

Chapter 589: Reunion

Since we’re about to have a banquet, I can’t really eat anything, so for now, I’ll just have some tea.

“Did it seem busy over there?”
“Haulon and Soleil looked busy. They haven’t come out of the temple, so I can’t say about the others, but Karn has been holed up in the Underground Temple since morning.”
It seems there’s a divine ritual that takes all day.

I answer only what I know about Dinoss. I’ve been involved in the revival of the town buried in the desert, but I don’t have much acquaintance with the people Haulon chose to bring here. That’s true for everyone present.

However, it seems that Dinoss and Retze have been passing information to Haulon about people with certain skills or notable figures from other countries, so they are much more involved in the nation-building efforts than I am.

“Excuse me.”
“Good evening. It’s a fine day.”
The Butler and Ash entered.

“Hey!”
Dean raised his hand in greeting.

“It seems Chris has returned, saying he’s not here yet.”
As Retze said, I could hear footsteps coming up the stairs. He’s probably just dropping off his work gear or changing clothes.

“Yeah. It seems a bit early, but I noticed that Gene had arrived.”
Ash spoke with his usual expressionless demeanor.

Though the frown on his forehead has eased, his expression still doesn’t show much. Still, the children of the Dinoss Family seem to like him, and the three of them take turns greeting him with light hugs.

I quietly pull out chairs from [Storage]. The Butler will likely remain standing, but there are two chairs. The first floor of the rental house is definitely crowded.

“Hey! Am I the last one?”
Just as I was debating whether to serve tea, Chris walked in.

“Everyone’s here, everyone’s here!”
Dean gulped down his tea in one go.

I hurriedly drank mine and put the empty cup back into [Storage]. The tea I didn’t serve was collected by Retze and taken to the kitchen.

“Alright, let’s gather everyone!”
With everyone assembled, we [Teleport] to the Desert Temple.

We’re a little early compared to the original meeting time, but since Haulon told us to come, it shouldn’t be a problem. We appear this time with the Kanum people at the same spot where we just brought the Earth Folk.

“I’m back. I brought them.”
It seems the adjustments inside the temple have been completed, as neither the Earth Folk nor Soleil are present.

In the dimly lit temple, only Haulon stood on the elevated pedestal, gazing thoughtfully around the temple.

“Teleportation is still amazing. I can’t get used to the change in scenery.”
Dinoss remarked.

“It’s suddenly hot!”
Dean exclaimed. Outside the temple, it’s even hotter. It’s refreshing due to the lack of humidity, though.

“Hmm. Beautiful.”
Ash murmured as he looked around the temple.

“Flowers!”
Tina reacted to the flowers adorning the space.

The large blue roses, blooming like peonies, were striking. The blue was deep, but the petals looked delicate. There were also smaller cup-shaped roses, along with unfamiliar white and light pink flowers floating in the Water Basin.

“Wow! Gold! So cool!!!”
“Pumpkin? Amazing, it’s gold!”
Baku and En were drawn to the golden vegetables and fruits.

Yeah, it’s hard not to notice the pumpkins, cucumbers, and eggplants over the fruits. Especially the pumpkins, which are huge. The eggplants are shiny.

“Whoa… A mountain of them… No mercy.”
Dinoss was left speechless at the piled vegetables and fruits.

“It’s more impressive than I heard. And that divine seat has quite the presence…”
Shiva trailed off as she looked at the Wanwan House.

“Looks like quite the spectacle.”
Retze surveyed the surroundings.

“Is there an interest in the trench? That trench is meant for Es’s arrival.”

“Wonderful! Are you going to light the bonfire soon? It must be magical!”
Chris spread his arms wide, expressing his excitement.

“It suddenly got lively, huh? — Yes. When King Tildonai guides the Gods, we will light the torches and bonfire.”
Haulon descended the short staircase.

“Congratulations, it’s a good day.”
Ash said to Haulon, and the Butler lightly bowed his head in agreement behind him.

“Thank you. But those words are for King Tildonai. The days he has waited for this day are far longer.”
Haulon smiled brightly, clearly delighted.

We exited the building and joined Soleil and the Earth Folk in the temple square, along with the residents of this country.

“Oh! It’s that older brother from back then!”
“Huh?”
I thought I’d only seen people who occasionally worked with Haulon, so I was surprised to be called out.

It was the boy from Esha who had given me the Traveler’s Stone, and his father was with him. The people around them were dressed in the attire of the Esha Folk.

“So you were acquainted with Haulon. No wonder you look so well-dressed in such a remote area.”
The boy’s father spoke as he caught sight of Haulon behind me.

I knew their clothes looked clean for having traveled through the mountains and the edges of the country, but the clothes from my long journey were seriously grimy and gave off a vibe of bedbugs! I did rummage through a thrift store for something decent, though.

“…”
I gave a vague smile in response.

It’s alright; everything is the work of the Great Sage. I was also dispatched to the Esha Folk by the Great Sage.

Oh, and please don’t stretch my cheeks silently, Retze.
