Chapter 24: Primula Rosemary Cannot Afford to Lose
(Sorry, sister… It seems I’ve become a rather spiteful child.)
While teaching Rest, Primula Rosemary silently apologized to her beloved sister.
They had a long history together. When it came to Viola, she understood everything. Viola was currently clinging to Rest, pressing her bust against him with an air of confidence, but Primula could see through her facade; inside, Viola was quite flustered and confused.
(Sister seems serious… I expected her to wear a negligee to compete with me, but I never imagined she would go this far.)
As Viola snuggled up to Rest, rubbing her cheek against his, Primula felt the weight of her sister’s determination.
The Rosemary Sisters were both clad in negligees. While the garments weren’t overly revealing, they were certainly outfits that one might hesitate to wear in front of men. Ironically, it was not the vivacious Viola who first donned the negligee to present herself before Rest, but rather the usually introverted Primula.
(Iām not as beautiful or charming as my sister… So I have to do my best to catch Lord Rest’s attention!)
Lacking confidence, Primula chose to wear something bold. The effect was remarkable. Rest was clearly reacting to the sisters’ appearance and the way their chests pressed against him.
(Lord Rest is turning so red… How adorable…!)
Seeing Rest’s face flush bright red, Primula couldn’t help but smile like a fond caretaker of a small animal. Ever since she was young, she had struggled with her discomfort around men. As a marquis daughter, she often attracted attention at noble gatherings due to her delicate beauty, but she had never felt anything but fear towards the advances of those men. Just the other day, when Cedric Evern had approached her, she had only felt disgust at the lewd glances cast her way.
(And yet… why is it that I feel no fear or discomfort around Lord Rest?)
Strangely enough, she felt neither fear nor discomfort towards Rest. While she had always disliked being looked at by men, she found it perfectly fine when it came to Rest; in fact, she was delighted that he noticed her. Although she wasn’t devoid of embarrassment, the joy of being appreciated by the man she cherished outweighed any shyness.
(I never thought my slightly larger chest than my sister’s would come in handy…)
Though the sisters bore similar features, Primula’s bust was indeed larger. While she felt a twinge of shame about it, she had never felt happy about it until now.
(But… perhaps this chest could become a weapon in the future. This is the only advantage I have over my sister.)
As she wrapped her arms around Rest, enveloping him in her deep cleavage, she felt him shudder in surprise. He truly was adorable… Primula’s smile widened.
“Ugh…!”
Viola, ignited by a competitive spirit, clung to Rest as well.
(As expected of my sister… But I cannot afford to lose!)
Viola had always insisted that she would marry a man stronger than herself. She often spoke of sacrificing herself for the benefit of the Rosemary Marquis House and its future. Primula admired her strong-willed sister, but she also felt a sense of inferiority and concern for her sister’s future.
(I’m happy that my sister has found someone she likes. But I cannot yield Lord Rest to anyone…!)
What a cruel twist of fate it was for the sisters to fall for the same man. In her past, Primula might have stepped aside for her sister’s happiness. However, having experienced true love had changed her perspective.
(My radiant sister marrying the man I love… I would remain in the shadows like the Moon for the rest of my life…)
Primula had not matured enough to celebrate that with a smile. She could not part with Rest. She could not yield him. In ten years, in twenty years, she could only envision Rest by her side. She could never marry anyone else or bear children with anyone but him. Such thoughts only grew stronger with time, igniting a passionate fire within her heart.
(This is my first time feeling this… So this is what love is…)
She gazed at her sister, who was playfully “punishing” Rest, her heart swelling with affection for him, while simultaneously feeling love for Viola. It might have been unfortunate that they both loved the same man, but there was a part of her that took pride in it.
(I won’t outsmart my sister. Just like Lord Rest, I love her dearly.)
She couldn’t yield to her sister. She couldn’t hurt her. Therefore, there was only one choice left.
(I wouldn’t mind being the second wife. Perhaps welcoming Lord Rest together wouldn’t be so bad. It sounds delightful to bear his children and raise them together.)
As she entertained thoughts that would surely confuse Viola to the point of fainting, Primula pressed her ample chest against Rest’s arm, sliding her fingers along the body of the man she adored.
