Commoner with Infinite Magic – Chapter 285

Chapter 284: Development, Once Again

The next day, in the parlor of the Rosemary Marquis House, Rest gathered with four women to discuss their future plans.

Having enjoyed a delightful date until yesterday, Rest knew he could not remain in leisure forever. The duty of a noble was to manage their territory, and it was time to seriously embark on the development of their lands.

“I have already gathered the necessary supplies and manpower for the development. It took some time since they were taken by Prince Andrew,” Primula explained.

“Of course, we will lend our strength, Rest!” Viola declared confidently.

“I’m here with you, so think of it as riding on a great ship!” Yuri added, her enthusiasm palpable.

With Primula leading the explanation, Viola and Yuri expressed their unwavering support. They were about to begin the development of the territory entrusted to Rest—the Clover Count Territory. The first task at hand was to construct a town that would serve as their base. The candidates for the construction sites had been investigated by a survey team provided by the Rosemary Marquis House.

“I have my own matters to attend to, so I won’t be able to assist directly… but please don’t hesitate to let me know if you need anything,” Celestine said apologetically. Although her marriage to Rest was already decided, she was not yet a member of the Clover Count House and would be cooperating as an external ally.

“As for the candidate sites for the base… my father has picked out three options. Each of them has sufficient space for building a town and can secure a water source,” Primula continued, spreading a map across the table.

“Rest, your territory is located to the north of the Subnock Plain, which is also close to the Rosemary Marquisate. The candidate sites are in the north, west, and south,” Primula marked the map.

“The northern site is closest to the Rosemary Marquisate, making it easier for us to send supplies and personnel. The western site is near the Royal Capital, which could foster long-term development. The southern site doesn’t have any particular advantages, but it is close to Prince Andrew’s territory, allowing for friendly exchanges.”

Primula looked up at Rest, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

“Rest, which of these three locations should we choose for our base?”

“The north, without a doubt,” Rest replied decisively, showing no hesitation. It was a straightforward choice with no room for doubt.

“Being close to the Rosemary Marquisate is undoubtedly the best option. We can help each other in times of need, and it will be easier for Viola and Primula to return home,” he added.

“…Yes, you’re right. Thank you,” Viola said, her cheeks flushing with gratitude.

“Thank you… I’m so happy,” Primula echoed, her smile brightening the room.

Seeing the two girls blush with joy at his response, Celestine cleared her throat softly, breaking the moment.

“Ahem… please continue with the explanation.”

“Oh, my apologies,” Primula said, regaining her composure.

“Now, if we decide to build our base at the northern point… there is one issue we need to address.”

“An issue?”

“Yes. A monster nest has been confirmed in that location. We will need to eliminate the monsters before we can construct our base there.”

“Ah, I see. That makes sense,” Rest acknowledged.

It was only logical that a place once part of the Demon Realm would harbor monsters. It was reasonable for a suitable location for a base to also have a monster nest.

“So, we just need to hunt the monsters… that’s a much simpler task than planning a date,” he mused, feeling a sense of relief.

Hunting monsters was something he excelled at. The straightforward nature of the task was much to his liking.

“I’ll join you this time. I want to show that I’m not just a princess who needs to be protected!” Viola declared, her determination shining through.

“I will too… it’s time to put the magic I’ve studied at the academy to use,” Primula chimed in, equally eager.

The two girls were fired up, and beside them, Yuri was smiling while practicing shadow boxing.

“Well… just don’t push yourselves too hard…” Rest said, feeling an inexplicable sense of unease in the face of the three capable beauties.
