Commoner with Infinite Magic – Chapter 93

Chapter 92: Back to School Again

After enjoying tea and sweets at the café, Rest and the Rosemary Sisters concluded their brief holiday in the territory. With the start of the new week, it was time to return to the Royal Capital and resume their school life.

Rest promptly made his way to the Student Council Room to confirm his entry into the Executive Committee. Similarly, Viola and Primula had also communicated their intentions to take on roles as officers.

“Thank you. I feel very reassured knowing you all are joining us,” said Andrew, the Second Prince and Student Council President, with a warm smile as he extended his hand for a handshake. As a third-year student in the Department of Knights, Andrew’s friendly demeanor made him well-liked not only among his fellow knights but also among the students from the Magic Department, who were typically at odds with the knights. Although he had an older brother who was the Crown Prince and thus unlikely to become king himself, he certainly possessed the qualities of a natural leader.

Nevertheless, even though Rest had joined the Student Council Executive Committee, it didn’t dramatically change his school life. When he informed his classmates about his new role, their reaction was simply, “I knew it.” The commoner students were aware of Rest’s outstanding performance in the practical portion of the entrance exam, while the noble students regarded him with respect, knowing he had the Rosemary Sisters—precious jewels of the Rosemary Marquis House—by his side. His close relationships with Yuri, the Knight Commander’s daughter, and Celestine, the Duchess, had led many to anticipate his involvement in the Student Council.

Rather than being shunned for their role in maintaining discipline, the Executive Committee was welcomed with open arms. Incidents like the recent assault by Third Prince Rodel were rare, and their duties mostly revolved around mediating fights. The only exception had been a single occasion when they had the opportunity to apprehend an intruder who had trespassed onto the school grounds.

“I shall pluck the tender, youthful fruit and paint it upon the campus! Do not hinder me, you magician boy!”

“Who cares! Wait, you peeping tom!”

“Ah, wait for me, lovely ladies! This artist of love and peace shall come to adore you!”

“Stop! No, die, you pervert!”

As for the details of that intruder, they can be saved for another time. That man had audaciously attempted to sneak into the academy to sketch the noble ladies in their changing clothes, sportswear, and even their panty shots for his art. By capturing this intruder and saving the ladies from potential danger, Rest’s reputation unexpectedly soared.

Thanks to this, he had recently begun receiving consultations from students in other classes about troublesome matters, feeling more like a source of support rather than fear.

What had made him slightly anxious was the return of Third Prince Rodel, who had been under suspension. Rest had been prepared to address any issues should they arise, but surprisingly, there was no need for the Executive Committee to take action.

This was largely due to the academy’s serious response to the previous incident, which led to Rodel and his retainers being isolated and required to attend classes in a separate room. Moreover, faculty members were now constantly monitoring them.

It seemed that Celestine was also working behind the scenes, ensuring that the surveillance on Rodel was quite stringent.

Despite being treated like a pariah, Rodel reportedly did not express any particular dissatisfaction. He had taken the separate classes as a sign of being “special,” which was a rather optimistic interpretation for someone who was accustomed to being a proud prince. It appeared that he was content for the time being, and Rest did not have to deal with any situations requiring intervention from the Executive Committee.

Thus, three months had passed since Rest’s enrollment at the academy, and the season had shifted to early summer.
