Fantasy Something – Chapter 40

Episode 40

The Birdman turns into smoke and vanishes. I don’t even feel like picking up the coins he left behind.

“He didn’t run away, huh?”
“Um… Was I not supposed to defeat him?”
“It’s not that you weren’t supposed to… No, maybe you really weren’t supposed to.”
“Was that… because of the Oracle?”
“Something like that. My role was over, so I shouldn’t have done anything more.”
“Then why… Sorry, it’s my fault, isn’t it?”
“No, don’t worry about it… Wait…”

Seeing Millie looking apologetic in my arms, I involuntarily stop speaking.
Until just now, I hadn’t paid much attention because she was covered in wounds, but the glimpses of skin showing through Millie’s tattered uniform have become a very tempting sight. Although there’s still dried blood, the eroticism outweighs the pain now that the wounds are gone. Especially the line that seems to have been torn from around her shoulder to her chest… No, I mustn’t look anymore.
I mustn’t look at the unidentified light pink strap hanging on her shoulder. I mustn’t let my eyes be drawn to the soft yet slender skin around her waist, which I would never normally see. And her thighs—no. If I look any further, things will really get out of hand.

Even though she’s been superficially healed with magic, she must still be in a tough state mentally and physically. I remember when Gouketu-sensei beat me up and then healed me with magic, I ended up having to restart mock battles one after another and shed real tears.
She’s already a mess, so I shouldn’t be thinking things like, “Might as well tear it all off.” I need to quickly move her to a safe place and let her rest her mind and body. I can’t put any more strain on her.

“Huh? Where are you going?”
“The Boys’ Dormitory.”
“Not the Practical Training Building?”
“If Millie goes to a place like that now, it’ll be a disaster.”

It would be bad if Millie, in this revealing state, went to a place where many people gather. It would turn into a zombie movie where the people in the shelter lose their minds and start rampaging.
So, I’m heading to the Boys’ Dormitory to do something about Millie’s clothes. There shouldn’t be any people or monsters there yet, and if we go to my room, I have two charred uniforms, so at least I can avoid exposing Millie’s skin to the public. If we combine the better parts and wear them, we should be able to reduce the amount of exposure compared to now.

“A disaster? What is?”
“Your clothes. They’re in a terrible state.”

Millie, looking puzzled, first looks at me, then at her own body.

“W-wa, a, n-no! Don’t look, Geld-kun!”
“I’m not looking.”

I’m walking straight ahead, looking only forward. I’ve already seen plenty and burned it into my mind, but I’m not looking now.

“U-uuh… Did you see? Did you already see?”
“When I saw you, you were covered in wounds, so I wasn’t focused on that.”

I’m not lying. I just looked after that.
Millie is trying to hide the torn parts with her hands, but what kind of face would she make if I told her that that gesture is the most erotic thing of all?

“So, Geld-kun, how long are you going to keep carrying me?”
“For now, until we do something about your clothes in my room. I can’t let other guys see Millie walking around like this, and the Boys’ Dormitory is empty and safe right now, so let’s settle down there for a bit.”
“I-I see. Okay.”

After that, we arrived at the Boys’ Dormitory without any particular incident. It seems that people and monsters are already gathered around the Practical Training Building.
While Millie is tidying herself up in the room, I try to think about this incident, but there are still many unclear points since I don’t have the prerequisite knowledge of the original story.
If Millie being surrounded by monsters and almost killed like that was the original flow, then the fact that no one other than me came to help means that Millie is a character who is supposed to die. However, I can’t believe that was the scenario.
If it were such a scenario, I should remember something, but I don’t remember anything. Therefore, it’s not that kind of scenario, that’s the logic.
So, she somehow survives, but I don’t know how.
Since she was called the “Something Maiden,” Millie wasn’t just randomly selected and surrounded. She will definitely be targeted if she is alone during the attack. In that case, it would be safest to have her join someone beforehand, like the protagonist.

“If there’s a next time, I’ll kidnap her on Saturday and guide Millie to be with the Harem Bastard during lunch break on Wednesday…?”

How troublesome. Just troublesome. But I have to do it.
I need to take notes of all the points to watch out for in the next loop and check them right before looping, or I’ll definitely forget these conditions.

“Next, next time, huh?”

I lean back as if looking up at the sky and hit my head hard against the wall. But I’m too distressed to care about that.
If there’s a next time, if this time is a failure, then I’ll be saying goodbye to Millie, who’s changing in my room right now, forever.
I should have learned my lesson in the Swordsmanship Club, but I’ve done it again. Even though there were unavoidable circumstances, I was too careless.

“No, Millie is to blame… Millie is…”

In future loops, I’ll be attending Desroah Academy many times, but if there’s an opportunity, I’ll try to get close to Millie again and again. She has that much Bewitching Charisma. Not just in a sexual way, but as a person. I don’t think I can resist.

“Sorry to keep you waiting. H-how is it?”
“Oh… It’s baggy.”

The Bewitching woman came out of my room. I don’t have any skirts for girls, so she’s wearing folded-up pants for boys. Other than that, everything is oversized.
But this is… acceptable. It might be really good. Baggy girl.

“Okay, back to normal, back to normal.”
“Huh? Aren’t we going to the Practical Training Building?”

I push Millie, who came out of the room, back into the room. No, no, no.

“The battle is still going on over there. Let’s wait here until it’s over.”
“Eh, is that okay? Shouldn’t we go help…?”

I thought so. That’s Millie for you, but of course, I don’t intend to do that or let her do that.

“Even if we barge in now, we might just stir things up, and the guards will be here soon anyway, so it’ll be over quickly. Don’t worry about it.”
“I see… Yeah, you’re right.”

I thought she would resist a little more, but she gave in easily. …No, only about thirty minutes have passed since she almost died, so her mental state hasn’t recovered yet. Besides, she’s trying to stay strong right now, but she looks like she’s reaching her physical limit.

“You can sleep if you’re tired. It’s safe here.”
“Hmm… But… Hnn.”

Hearing that she can sleep, it seems like the tension has broken, and her fatigue has suddenly surfaced. She’s really at her limit.

“Hey, hey, have you already forgotten my performance from earlier? You’ll be fine no matter what.”
“Geld-kun…”

Huh, I was just trying to tease her and reassure her, but she’s looking down and crying. Why is she crying? What is it this time!?

“…I thought I was done for earlier. I thought I was going to die. I was scared, so scared…”
“Ah, ah. Sorry I was late.”

The tension broke, and instead of fatigue, the suppressed fear has resurfaced.
…I can’t say it. There’s no way I can say that I was watching her get beaten up for a while. If there were any witnesses, I’d silence them immediately.

“That’s not true! If Geld-kun hadn’t come…”
“Well, yeah. I’m glad I made it in time.”

Shaking with the fear of death that was right in front of her, Millie’s tears don’t seem to stop. What should I do in a situation like this?
I remember… that’s right, when Shino was crying, I hugged her and calmed her down nicely. That’s it.
But if I try to hug her and she pushes me away, I might never recover… No, anyway, hugging is the best thing to do when you’re scared or sad. I have to do it with the spirit of forcibly hugging her even if she doesn’t like it.

“Even if something happens again, I’ll go help you even sooner next time. So, it’s okay.”

Saying that, I try to pat her head. What I said isn’t a lie. That useless guy probably comes two hours late at the crucial moment. I decided to act with that in mind.
From the next loop, I don’t intend to let that situation of being surrounded happen in the first place.

“Geld-kun…!”

While I was patting her head, Millie hugged me. I feel like something like this happened before. This avoids the risk of me hugging her, but a different battle is about to begin.
I mustn’t be distracted by the feeling of her chest. Now is not the time for that. Or rather, Millie isn’t that kind of person in the first place. Right now… yes, I need to focus on comforting and calming Millie down.

“Uh… Ah… Yeah, actually, I’m super strong. You’ll be safe if you’re by my side.”

No clever words are coming out at all. Who would be reassured by such a stupid line?
Anyway, her head. I should just keep patting her head. It should be better to be silent than to say something weird.
