Former Hero Stripped of Powers Still Overpowered – Chapter 50

Enhancement Training Day 9: Fifth Day: Class: Transcendent Power
Training Day Five

The fatigue from the consecutive days had built up, and the trainees were moving at a snail’s pace, from waking up to getting ready in the morning to eating breakfast. Stella, in particular, who had pushed herself to the absolute limit the previous day, was the last to wake up, moving while enduring the pain that coursed through her entire body.

The fifth day of training was not held outside, but inside the mansion.

“Well then… I think we should start, but are you all okay?”
“…”
“…”
“Ah, is that me? Yes, I’m fine. My body hurts quite a bit, but I can move if I try.”
“Then that’s fine. Let’s begin.”

The location was the mansion’s living room, and the instructor was Filo. She handed out documents that summarized the content to Stella, Rio, and Fon, while Ferno, Fana, Lulu, and Jero, who were just there to listen, sat on nearby chairs. Filo stood in front of them, holding the same documents, and began her instruction.

“So, today’s topic is what the Transcendent World that I and Ferno are a part of is. Also, I’ll explain what Transcendent Power is, including the power Stella used yesterday, not the Villain Slayer. If we have time, I’ll show you my power.”

“So, look at the first and second pages.”

Filo waved the first and second pages of the documents, and after confirming that the three were looking at them spread out on the table, she began to speak.

“As you can see, the first page explains what the Transcendent World is. The second page ranks the average power in this world and shows where the Transcendent classification begins.”

Well, I was told to give supplementary explanations.
As she said this, Filo moved her fingertip, causing some of the text on the document to glow.

“First, the Transcendent World is a bug in terms of biology. In other words, it’s a realm that you don’t normally interact with and don’t need to interact with just by living normally. That’s why few creatures in this world can live in the Transcendent World, and only a limited number of creatures can obtain the qualification to live there. You guys are fine, though.”

“And how do we actually distinguish whether something is Transcendent or not? The details of this are unknown because the concept of the Transcendent World was born too long ago. That’s why researchers and scholars like me classify Transcendent beings by whether they have the power to destroy this world single-handedly.”

“You don’t need to think too hard about it. If you have power like Ferno, you could go around killing all life in the world by yourself, right? Will’s Maiden Theory is a new principle that can rewrite the common sense of the world, so if she wanted to, she could dominate the world. If you can destroy the world in any way, that’s Transcendent, and the world where those beings live is the Transcendent World.”

Filo concluded and looked at the three. Stella and Fon showed understanding, but Rio had an expression that seemed like she understood and didn’t understand at the same time. Filo considered how to explain it, and then threw the task to Ferno, who was trying to explain it to Fana, who seemed to not understand, behind her.

“Explain it in an easy-to-understand way, Ferno.”
“…In short, it’s like a dragon being thrown into an ant nest. No matter how hard the ants struggle, they can’t kill the dragon, and the dragon can easily destroy the ant nest, right? Being able to do that on a world scale is Transcendent, and the state where those guys are killing each other is the Transcendent World.”
“Did you understand? …It seems like you did. Can you be the teacher instead of me?”
“Do your job properly. It’s fine if you teach children, and if they understand the general content, they can figure out the rest. Like this guy.”
“…Now that you mention it, that’s true. Okay, I’ll explain it in an easy-to-understand way.”

Ferno indirectly said that she wasn’t a scholar, so it was fine to keep it simple, and at the same time, he pointed out Fana, the greatest example of someone who was living and getting stronger without knowing. Seeing Fana looking at the documents with a question mark, Filo agreed and decided to abandon the teaching she had planned in her head and teach appropriately.

“For now, I think you understand what Transcendent is. So, where exactly is classified as Transcendent? Look here.”

Filo waved her finger, changing the glowing text. After confirming that it had changed, she began to explain.

“You can look at the order later on your own. The classification I want you to focus on is the top one, the classification where the highest-ranking Demon Race belong. This is the highest line that ordinary creatures can reach after repeating normal training and growth. The current Knight Commander of the kingdom is around the top of this classification.”

“And if I were to classify you guys right now, you’re somewhere in the middle between here and Transcendent. The two Beast-folk are at the starting line of breaking into Transcendent, and Stella is about halfway down the path towards Transcendent. By the way, Disaster Classifications and Demon Lord’s Army Executives are classified as Transcendent. You might be misunderstanding because you saw Ferno defeat them easily, but the re-emerged individual of the Dead Eater, which he recently defeated, is said to be exceptionally outstanding even among Transcendent beings.”

“The reason why I haven’t written about the Hero or the Demon Lord is because they are limited. If the Holy Mark and Holy Sword respond to the Hero under specific conditions limited to fighting the Demon Race, the Demon Lord, or enemies, they can become the strongest in the literal sense. As for the Demon Lord, there isn’t much information, so I don’t know for sure, but there was information that they become exceptionally strong only under specific conditions, so I judged them to be similar to the Hero and didn’t write about them.”

“As an aside, as far as I know, the top of the Transcendent World are Ferno and Fana. Also, Ferno’s friend, the Avenger, Ferno’s fanatic follower, the Elf who guards the place that seems to exist in the abyss, and Dragmare at the top of the northernmost mountain. If I ask my personal acquaintances, there seem to be more.”

Filo explained calmly, and concluded by saying that the only thing to remember was that Ferno and Fana were incredibly strong. In reality, they would probably never encounter those powerful people, so it was irrelevant, and they would naturally learn the other content later, so there was no need to remember it now. Considering that their current strength was still in the process of growing, there was no need to worry about it.

By the way, the Elf in the abyss and the Dragmare in the north are so powerful that Ferno would not be able to win even if he challenged them tens of thousands of times.

“Okay, next I’ll teach you about Transcendent Power. I’ll answer any questions about the documents after I’ve finished talking about them, so please wait until then. Also, I’m going to go pick some flowers, so relax. Ferno, where’s the restroom?”
“Lulu, take her there.”
“Understood~”

“Sorry, I’m late. But it seems like I was able to rest, so it’s fine, right? Okay, look at page five of the documents, and pages three and four explain what Transcendent Power is… but it’s easier to think of it as just some amazing power, so if you’re curious, read them on your own later.”

Filo, who had returned, pointed out the documents to look at, and after confirming that the three had taken them out and were looking at them, she began to speak.

“Transcendent Power is a power that cannot be judged by common sense. Will’s Maiden Theory, Jero’s Omnipotent Hand, and Zem’s Super Strength, for example. If you assume common sense, you can’t possibly understand or accept these powers, but the users themselves use them without feeling any discomfort, and it doesn’t seem like they’re forcing themselves to use them.”

“What Stella did yesterday is also a Transcendent Power, but there’s no precedent, and I’ve never seen anything similar, so I don’t know what kind of power it is. However, it’s a fact that it requires a price. Whether Stella’s current power is insufficient, or whether there’s a problem with how she uses the power… well, I want her to think about that herself.”

“Oh, that’s right, I forgot to write it down. There are different types of activation methods for Transcendent Power. They can be classified into five types: Cost, Incantation, Unique, Automatic, and Special, but basically, it’s just a difference in whether you need to pay a cost or chant an incantation, so you don’t need to worry too much about it.”

“Just to mention it, Will’s is the type that requires incantation. The effect won’t activate unless she establishes the Maiden this and that, but since she’s convinced that she’s a maiden and that what she does follows the Maiden Theory, there’s no incantation.”

“Jero’s and Zem’s are Unique. I don’t know if Jero’s is a part of his innate talent, or if it’s because he can instantly learn how to use the weapons he holds or the magic he learns, but since he learns it himself and can use it anytime, it’s Unique. Zem’s is doing something abnormal like adding muscle to muscle, but even so, only Zem can do it, and the process of adding it is just simple muscle training, so it’s Unique.”

At that point, she paused her explanation and looked around, and then noticed Ferno and Fana sitting and watching. Filo remembered that she hadn’t written about them in the documents.
Judging that they were curious, or rather, would be curious, Filo began to talk about Ferno and Fana’s Transcendent Powers, which she had stored in her memory.

“And so, I forgot to write about Fana and Ferno.
To the extent that I understand, Fana’s is special. It’s a power that allows her to perfectly imitate the powers of others, provided she has the preparation and compensation. There’s no precedent for it, and while there are similar powers, they can’t imitate Ferno, making it incredibly unique.”

Filo spoke of Fana’s Transcendent Power.
For the three who had seen it firsthand, it was more than enough to be convinced. At the same time, the three began to wonder if Ferno’s power was that imitated power, but Filo’s next words shook their minds.

“And Ferno doesn’t have a Transcendent Power.
He might have one, but as far as I know, I’ve never seen Ferno use it, nor have I seen him awaken it.”

“Ferno just trained himself to the point where he gained and uses the power to be among the strongest in this world. I don’t really understand it either, so I’ve come to accept that he was born different from ordinary creatures.”

“Ferno is ridiculously strong in his base state. That’s all you need to remember. It’s pointless to think about what kind of power it is… Whether he has a Transcendent Power or not, there’s no doubt that Ferno is stronger than anyone here.”

  • With this, the long, and likely to be long, training arc concludes.
  • I’ll write about the completed form after I finish the character introductions and other interludes in the next chapter, but there won’t be an explosive increase in strength.
  • Regarding the Demon Lord’s Army Executives who have already died, I’ll write about their past in a side story, and then write out their settings. It turned out to be a lot when I tried writing it.
