The results of my identification of the Guild Staff member before me are as follows. It seems I can now see HP, MP, and various other stats. If MP reaches zero, I suppose that means one can no longer use magic, and if HP hits zero, one dies.

It’s probably not that simple, but it could serve as a reference. I understand strength, vitality, and agility, but I wonder how willpower and magic power differ. Do they relate to magical defense and the potency of spells? Still, the most puzzling stat is luck. I have no idea where that comes into play.

“…Is something the matter?”

“Oh, no, it’s nothing. Um, I was just curious about which city in the Empire has the best seafood.”

I’ll ponder the stats later. Right now, I need to fulfill the purpose of my visit to the Guild.

After confirming with the Guild Staff in detail, I learned that I can take a shared carriage southwest from here for about nine days to reach the Imperial Capital, and then travel south for a day to a port town known for its fishing industry.

I also heard they serve fresh sashimi. I absolutely must visit!

After thanking the staff, I stepped away from the counter and began identifying everyone else in the Guild. It seems there are no individuals with higher stats than the first Guild Staff member I examined. The adventurer ranks are unknown, so I can’t quite determine how the stats correlate to rank.

By the way, I wonder what Rio’s stats are like.

“Whoa!”

“…What’s wrong?”

I couldn’t help but exclaim, and Rio tilted her head in curiosity.

“No, it seems my identification has leveled up just now.”

“Oh, really? Congratulations!”

“Thanks!”

I then shared the results of my identification with Rio. Her class has somehow changed to Sage, but the text remains faint as ever. It likely indicates a low aptitude, but I still don’t understand how this system works. Given her high stats leaning towards magic, one would think her aptitude is quite good.

“By the way, my master mentioned that my magic power growth rate is a hundred times, right?”

“Considering that, your willpower is also quite high. I wonder if similar stats influence each other.”

“Maybe.”

Regardless, since I don’t understand the mechanics, I’ll just accept it as it is.

“Anyway, it was said that while it’s okay to use it as a reference, you shouldn’t rely on it too much.”

“Yeah. That’s probably why my master didn’t share specific numbers with me…”

Indeed. The stats visible through identification do not account for enhancements from body strengthening or other skills; they represent raw values. Thus, while they can serve as a baseline for strength, comparing numbers to determine strength is meaningless.

Still, they might provide some sort of guideline.

“What about your stats, Shuu?”

“Oh, I haven’t checked mine yet.”

With that, it was time to identify myself.

=====
Name: Mizumoto Shuu
Race: Human
Class: Magic Martial Artist
Status: Normal
Status: HP 42567
        MP 32980
        Strength 28465
        Vitality 26536
        Agility 28460
        Dexterity 31423
        Willpower 21087
        Magic Power 19807
        Luck 2411
=====

“Oh? Whoa!”

I’m no longer classless! The text is faint, but I’m no longer without a class! It must be because I’ve been using magic while equipping gauntlets and focusing on martial arts. It seems that having specialized skills indeed reveals one’s class.

“Wow, that’s impressive, Shuu!”

Rio nodded in admiration as she heard my stats. It’s clear that my growth rate is quite remarkable. Since I rely on Rio for magic-related matters, my stats lean slightly more towards physical prowess.

“Woof!”

As I was discussing stats with Rio, Nil suddenly interrupted.

Ha ha ha, do you want me to identify you too? Let’s take a look, shall we?

=====
Status: HP 58087
        MP 5209
        Strength 10873
        Vitality 35609
        Agility 16904
        Dexterity 6872
        Willpower 5098
        Magic Power 4720
        Luck 534
=====

Wow, that’s quite a high spec! I’m not familiar with the stats of other monsters, but if Nil is an S Rank monster, I’ll remember that this is about the level I should expect.

“Want to check out the Guild’s training ground?”

“Hmm?”

I tilted my head at Rio’s suggestion, but after hearing her explanation, I understood.

“We might get a better sense of the relationship between fighting style and stats at the training ground.”

“That’s true. Just looking at numbers doesn’t tell us much, so let’s take a peek.”

With that decided, we headed towards the training ground, which should be available at a guild of this size.
