Chapter 127: The Fourth Ancient Race
Finally, the final battle! Please stick with us until the end!
Hurrying, I teleported to the entrance of the Devil’s Gate, then used the black crystal I received from Jabberwock to teleport to the lowest floor.
“This is bad! There’s an unbelievable monster here! Hurry up and break the door!”
Immediately after teleporting, what jumped into my view was a blood-soaked Excel floating in the air, Jabberwock collapsed on the ground, and a figure standing over him.
Good. It seems the seal hasn’t been broken yet. Jabberwock is down, but he doesn’t seem to be dead. I’m glad I made it in time.
“Showing up suddenly covered in blood and spouting nonsense!? Explain yourself properly!”
The person standing over Jabberwock was instead pressing Excel. Is that the companion Excel mentioned? Who is she, to actually defeat Jabberwock?

Another Ancient Race. And a High Elf, no less. She’s even more specialized in magic than Excel, and her Agility is high too, so she must have been a bad matchup for Jabberwock.
But that’s good. I should be fine. My Magic Attack Power and Magic Defense Power are only slightly higher, but they are higher. I don’t feel like I’ll lose, even against these two.
“There’s no time for explanations like that! Ah, he’s already here… Elixia-han, that’s the monster I was talkin’ about.”
Excel, noticing my arrival, scowled and pointed her finger at me. What a rude person, pointing at someone like that.
Reacting to Excel’s movement, the one called Elixia turned towards me. She wore solid black leather armor and a black cloak. Being an elf, her ears were pointed at the tips.
However, there’s something different about her compared to the elves I’ve seen so far. Her title also says ‘Fallen to Darkness’… could she be what they call a Dark Elf?
“Hmm, so this is the monster… He certainly looks strong. Could there have been other survivors besides Otto?”
“We killed off so many, so that shouldn’t be possible… is what I’d like to say, but this guy’s strength is abnormal. To the point where you couldn’t explain it unless he was an Ancient Race.”
I see, so these two are the ones responsible for driving the Ancient Races to the brink of extinction. Most likely, they rebelled against the Creator Goddess or something.
Still, Ochcho-san managed to survive against these two. Did he just hide well?
“So, what’s the plan? That gate is pretty sturdy, so it won’t break easily, you know?”
Elixia pointed at the door behind her without looking away from me.
“My MP is completely empty. I’d like you to break it with your magic, Elixia-han… but he’ll probably interfere.”
If the door is as sturdy as they say, then maybe I have a little time. No, they could be lying. For now, I guess I’ll put up a Barrier in front of the door.
I secretly erected a Barrier in front of the door.
“Excel. He just put up a Barrier in front of the gate. Looks like it’ll be faster if we take him down together!”
No sooner were the words spoken than Elixia thrust her right hand forward.
“Raging Storm!”
With those words, several tornadoes appeared and assaulted me. There didn’t seem to be any damage from the magic, but the wind pressure from the swirling tornadoes threw me off balance.
“Surprising. He took no damage at all. He must have Wind Nullification.”
Whoa, did Elixia figure out I nullified the magic in that instant? She’s sharp, even without Appraisal. Can she see the flow of mana or something?
“I didn’t mention it, but Dark, Fire, Wind, and Earth didn’t work on him either.”
“You! You should have said that sooner!!”
Ah, Excel’s getting yelled at. Serves her right.
“Well then, this is the only one left to try.”
Before Elixia’s words had even finished, thunderclouds appeared above my head, and dozens of lightning bolts rained down.
The impact was tremendous. Violent sound and light filled the area.
“Hey, Elixia-han! That’s hitting me too!? I thought I asked you to say the spell name when I’m around!”
“Shut up! This isn’t the time for that! It’s unbelievable, but he’s nullifying Lightning too. Change of plans. You can still fire off one spell, right? Aim for that Barrier!”
The magic Elixia unleashed also struck Excel, and the flustered clown took refuge near the caster. I felt absolutely no sympathy, but the sound and light were so intense I couldn’t hear their conversation. It looked like they were discussing something…
Still, just taking hits won’t get me anywhere. I need to attack back.
“Hikari sore wa subete o terashidasu mono nari.”
They both have a full set of various resistances, but they don’t have Light Resistance. Let’s exploit that weakness.
I created two Angels of Light, just like before.
“What is that magic!? I’ve never seen it before!?”
The Angels of Light I created blew away the thunderclouds. Seeing this, Elixia cried out in surprise, but behind her, I saw Excel firing the Rank 1 Earth Magic, “Meteor Fall,” towards my Barrier.
However, magic of that level shouldn’t be able to break my Barrier. I ignored Excel’s attack and sent the Angels of Light towards the two of them.
“That thing looks dangerous. Dark Wall!”
Against the Angels of Light, the two chose the Rank 4 Dark Magic, “Dark Wall.” Moreover, it was a thick version, layered multiple times through their cooperation.
The Angels of Light plunged into the thick curtain of darkness. The angels I created pushed forward, vigorously scattering the darkness.
(The light is gradually weakening…)
The angels I created broke through their Dark Wall and closed in on them, but their radiance had diminished to about half of what it was initially.
“Black Hole!”
Next, Elixia unleashed the Rank 1 Dark Magic, “Black Hole.” A black vortex appeared before the two angels just after they emerged from the darkness, colliding with the Angels of Light and causing both to vanish. As expected, once weakened, even a low-rank spell can cancel them out, huh.
“Whoa!?”
This time, Elixia cast the Rank 1 Water Magic, “Tidal Wave.” A wall of water, many meters high, surged towards me.
(Damn it, she should know it won’t do damage, so is this just a distraction!?)
To grasp the situation as quickly as possible, I blew away the tsunami before me with the Rank 2 Lightning Magic, “Indra Judgement.”
And the sight that met my eyes was…
