**Chapter 63: A Light “Serves You Right” for the Foolish Prince**
As Celestine Crocus made her entrance, Rodel clicked his tongue in annoyance.
“Celestine. Stay out of this!”
“What you’re doing is an act of violence. Do you intend to get yourself punished right after enrolling?!”
Celestine strode into the classroom, her heels echoing sharply against the floor. Though she arrived later than the other students, it was likely she had been discussing the incident that occurred during the entrance ceremony with the faculty.
“Dora, son of the Count! Can’t you hear me telling you to let him go?!”
“…Hmph.”
At Celestine’s sharp command, a large man among Rodel’s entourage—apparently named Dora—released his grip. Rest observed the situation as he landed on the floor.
(Celestine is the foolish prince’s fiancée, isn’t she? I wonder if she’ll be able to rein in his reckless behavior as his fiancée?)
“Rodel, your class is supposed to be Class D. What business do you have in this class?”
“…Class D is beneath me.”
Rodel answered Celestine with a scowl.
“It’s a mistake for someone like me to be in Class D. This injustice must be corrected. If you interfere, I won’t forgive you!”
“That’s the result of a fair examination. What complaints do you have about it?”
“I scored 200 points in target practice. I’m saying I exceeded the passing line!”
“Indeed, I’ve heard that your practical exam results were quite impressive. However, you submitted your written exam almost blank, didn’t you? Shouldn’t you be grateful that you were even allowed into the lowest class?”
“You…!”
Rodel’s expression twisted in anger. At that moment, a muffled snicker erupted from somewhere in the classroom.
“Gah…!”
When Rodel glared in the direction of the laughter, the Class A students quickly averted their gazes.
“Under normal circumstances, your scores wouldn’t even qualify you for admission. The only reason you’re here is due to the Queen Dowager and the Royal Consort’s influence. If you have complaints about the class assignment, why not study hard for the final exam to place into a higher class?”
“Are you telling me to endure being in the lowest class for four months? You dare call yourself my fiancée?!”
“Precisely because I am your fiancée, I am urging you to follow the right path. Or perhaps… you lack confidence in your ability to perform well on the final exam?”
“Damn you…!”
Rodel’s face turned crimson as he lunged toward Celestine. She remained still, whether caught off guard or intentionally exposing herself to Rodel’s violence was unclear.
(*Frozen!*)
Instead, it was Rest who took action. He discreetly cast a spell, summoning ice beneath Rodel’s unsuspecting foot.
“Whoa!?”
“Eek…!”
Rodel slipped on the ice, losing his balance just as Rest had intended. As Rest gently reached out to grab Celestine’s arm and pull her to safety, Rodel stumbled forward, crashing to the ground.
“Guh… ah…!”
“Your Highness! Are you alright?!”
“Yikes! Your Highness!”
Two of Rodel’s lackeys rushed to his side in a panic. He had fallen headfirst, unable to brace himself, and struck the floor hard.
“Bwah!”
“Ha, ha, ha!”
Instantly, laughter erupted from all corners of the classroom. The essence of humor lies in tension and release, and the sight of the prince tumbling over unexpectedly drew chuckles from everyone.
“Ugh… you…!”
Rodel stood up, glaring at the Class A students, but blood dripped from his nose, and no one felt intimidated by his glare.
“Your Highness! We need to get you to the infirmary!”
“Yikes! I’m bleeding!”
“Damn it, you lowly scum…”
With that parting shot, Rodel was led away by his two lackeys, leaving the classroom filled with laughter.
“Um… what just happened?”
“Rest-sama?”
Viola and Primula returned to the classroom, tilting their heads in confusion. Behind them, Yuri blinked repeatedly, equally puzzled.
“Ah… I’ll explain later when I have time. More importantly…”
The clock on the wall ticked, and the pre-bell rang.
“It’s time for the guidance session to start. Let’s hurry and take our seats, shall we?”
Rest smiled wryly and urged them to sit down.
