**Chapter 76: A Moderate Comeuppance for the Foolish Prince**
The classroom of Class D was enveloped in a magical smoke screen. In the midst of this sudden chaos, the third prince, Rodel Aiwood, shouted in alarm.
“What is happening?!”
“W-What’s with the smoke…?!”
“Is it the enemy?!”
A small, nameless follower of Rodel voiced his panic, while the imposing figure of Dora, a tall man, kept a firm grip on a female student’s hand, scanning the surroundings for threats. Amidst their confusion, Rest moved stealthily through the smoke, keeping a low profile.
**(Life Search, Material Search)**
He sharpened his senses with magic. Even though visibility was obscured by the smoke, he could perceive the layout of the classroom as if it were laid out before him, much like a bat navigating through echolocation.
“Ha!”
“Ugh…?!”
A high kick launched from his low stance struck Dora’s chin from below, causing the large man to momentarily lift off the ground. Despite his imposing physique suggesting he was a seasoned fighter, it seemed he lacked substantial combat experience.
“Ah…”
The female student’s hand was released. Confused by the smoke, she frantically looked around.
“Crouch down and protect your head. Stay close to the men.”
“Y-You…”
“Just hurry!”
Rest whispered urgently in her ear, and she quickly crouched beside her fallen lover. Shielding her head with one arm, she cast Healing magic on the man she clung to.
“I don’t know who you are, but I will not tolerate this insolence directed at me!”
Rodel shouted angrily, thrusting his right hand forward. He was preparing to unleash a spell in response to the faint sounds of their conversation.
“Bind!”
“Yikes?!”
Rest activated another spell. A rope of magical energy extended, ensnaring the small follower and pulling him toward him.
“Fire Bolt!”
“GYAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?!”
A fierce flame erupted from Rodel’s hand. The small man, used as a shield, was engulfed in fire, and his screams echoed through the classroom.
“That voice… Could it be… Tony?!”
Rodel exclaimed in shock. It seemed the small man’s name was indeed Tony.
“Ugh, e…”
Tony collapsed to the ground, emitting wisps of smoke. Knowing that he couldn’t afford to let anyone die within the academy, Rest had already cast Healing magic on him.
“Damn it… Who are you?! Do you know that I am Prince Rodel Aiwood?!”
Rodel shouted toward the curtain of smoke. Frankly, Rest had no interest in who this man was.
(I have no intention of respecting someone who uses their power and magical talent solely to oppress the weak…!)
From within the smoke, Rest launched a punch toward Rodel.
“Ugh…!”
His fist connected squarely with Rodel’s face. Taking advantage of Rodel’s momentary hesitation, Rest swept his legs out from under him, pinning him face down to the ground.
“You insolent—”
“Shock Palm!”
Rodel was likely about to shout something in protest. While maintaining his hold, Rest unleashed a jolt of electricity. The crackling sound echoed as Rodel’s body jerked several times before going limp.
(I feel like it might be better for the world if I just killed him right here…)
He understood that such an act would be disastrous. Up to this point, he could justify his actions as suppressing violence, but going further would cross a line.
(Even if he is the foolish prince of the century, killing a member of the royal family would be problematic… It seems he’s been spared.)
It could also cause trouble for the House of Marquis Rosemary. Rest quietly opened a window in the classroom and leaped outside. A gust of wind rushed in, dispersing the magical smoke screen. He decided to leave the aftermath to the teachers, carefully ensuring that no one saw his face as he slipped away from the scene.
