Mountain Internet Saintess – Chapter 13

The Demi-Goddess, Felmaa, along with the Puppy Fenrirs, and I ventured into the forest to check on the situation.

Ah, hot springs… It’s been so long since I last soaked in one. There was a super sento nearby, but I haven’t had the chance to go since starting my job.

This world has volcanoes, so there should be hot springs here too. However, I never got to enjoy one while working at the Black Court.

As I thought about hot springs, an overwhelming desire to soak in one washed over me.

“Demi-Goddess, I can’t believe you can create a hot spring too!” I exclaimed.

“Wahaha! For me, creating a hot spring is as easy as pie!” she replied with a laugh.

However, when we arrived at the spot where the water was gushing forth, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment.

“Is this… really a hot spring?” I asked, bewildered.

“It looks more like a dirty puddle,” Felmaa muttered.

Before us was merely a place where water was bubbling up from the ground.

The earth was bare, and the water was splashing everywhere, making the ground a soggy mess.

There was no bath to speak of, and without any privacy, it was completely exposed to the outside.

“Are you telling the great Saintess to bathe in such a filthy place…?” Felmaa glared at the Demi-Goddess.

“Yikes! I’m so sorry! You’re right! This is just a puddle!” the Demi-Goddess bowed her head repeatedly, clearly intimidated by Felmaa’s glare. It seemed her standing had significantly dropped in Felmaa’s eyes.

“Hey, Demi-Goddess. Can’t you do something about this?” I asked.

“I’m really sorry… This is as far as I can go. I can’t directly interfere with the human world…” she replied, looking defeated.

“But didn’t you bring me a Skill Orb? Plus, you came to see me,” I pointed out.

“That doesn’t count since you’re not human, but a divine envoy,” she explained.

It seemed that while gods could interfere with me, they couldn’t directly meddle in this world.

“The best I can do is manipulate luck so that a geyser conveniently appears near a Dragon Vein Area… I’m really sorry!” she said, looking downcast.

“So you prepared the source, but not the hot spring facilities… I see,” I sighed.

The Demi-Goddess slumped her shoulders in disappointment.

“What are you doing, you useless being?” Felmaa scolded.

“Yes… I’m a useless Demi-Goddess…” she replied, sounding defeated.

Felmaa was being a bit harsh on the Demi-Goddess.

“Hmm, what should I do now?” I pondered, my desire to soak in a hot spring growing stronger.

There was a bath in the Log House, but I really wanted to experience an open-air bath. It would surely feel wonderful surrounded by nature.

“Should we call someone to do the construction?” I suggested.

“I’d rather not get involved with the people of the lower world,” I admitted.

I possessed a powerful divine skill known as Omniscience, or the Internet. If anyone found out about my incredible power, there would surely be those who would try to monopolize it. I didn’t want that; I wanted to live freely and leisurely.

“Looks like I’ll have to create the hot spring facilities myself,” I decided.

I pulled out my smartphone.

“How to make a hot spring… let’s search…”

Using my evolved skill of Omniscience, I began my search.

“Here it is. Instructions for creating hot spring facilities,” I announced.

“The Internet is like a magical tome that contains everything,” Felmaa remarked, nodding in admiration.

“Well, it’s more like the information is stored in the Omniscience skill…” I clarified.

The instructions were quite detailed, covering everything from construction to drainage methods. However…

“Reading it seems tedious, and building it looks even more troublesome…”

Just then, I felt a light tap on my shoulder.

“Tomato-kun? What’s up?” I asked, noticing my Tomato Familiar had perched on my shoulder.

“…” he nodded vigorously.

“Ah! I see… I can just have my Familiars do it!” I exclaimed.

The Demi-Goddess tilted her head in confusion. “But aren’t your Familiars small? Won’t the construction take a long time?”

“That’s where creativity comes in,” I replied confidently.

I opened the God App, “Let’s Become Familiars.”

“Tomato-kun, can you summon some strong Familiars for us?” I asked.

“…” he saluted sharply.

Tomato-kun hopped off my shoulder and vanished for a moment.

“Tomato-kun brought back Satsuma and Danshaku,” I noted.

These were also vegetable-based Familiars, with Satsuma resembling a sweet potato and Danshaku resembling a potato.

I named each of them using the God App.

“Satsuma-kun, I’ll call you the Construction Leader,” I declared.

“…” he saluted.

“Danshaku-kun, you’ll be the Development Leader,” I continued.

“…” he bowed respectfully.

“And finally, Tomato-kun, you’ll be the Familiar Coordinator,” I finished.

“…” he nodded enthusiastically.

With their new names and roles assigned, the three Familiars glowed with a brilliant light.

“Now, let’s check their stats…”

~~~~~~
– Construction Leader: Satsuma-kun
【Race】Advanced Familiar
【Skill】Construction (Master Level)
~~~~~~

“!? They’ve been granted skills! And their race has upgraded from Familiar to Advanced Familiar!” the Demi-Goddess exclaimed in surprise.

“I figured that once I named them with roles using ‘Let’s Become Familiars,’ they could undergo Maka. So I thought it might work for the vegetable Familiars too,” I explained.

Satsuma-kun had acquired a construction skill, Danshaku-kun had a development skill, and Tomato-kun had a command skill.

“Alright, Familiars, it’s all up to you now,” I instructed.

“「「「…」」」” they saluted in unison.

Tomato-kun took the lead, issuing commands to the other Familiars. The vegetable Familiars scattered to gather materials and resources.

Tomato-kun purchased the necessary supplies through KAMIZON, assigning personnel and materials to the appropriate locations.

Danshaku-kun began cutting down trees and setting up drainage.

Satsuma-kun started construction on the flattened area.

The construction progressed at lightning speed. And then… one hour later.

“S-Saintess! It’s incredible! Just an hour ago, this was a filthy pond, and now it’s transformed into a magnificent open-air bath!” one of the Familiars exclaimed.

“Meow!” “Mew!” “…”

The Fenrirs’ eyes sparkled with excitement as they wagged their tails.

The pond that once stood alone in the forest was gone. In its place was a splendid open-air bath that wouldn’t be out of place in a high-end inn.

There was a changing room, privacy screens, and the ground was laid with waterproof stone tiles, complete with a proper bath.

“This is… just… astonishing… I can’t believe you mastered the Omniscience skill so quickly…” I marveled.

“I tried using it a bit, and I’ve gained a better understanding of Omniscience,” I admitted.

Omniscience meant using the Internet to gather information. Omnipotence meant granting the abilities I desired to my Familiars, allowing them to use those skills.

Yes… the Omniscience skill is quite handy.

“To create such a magnificent bath in such a short time! Truly impressive, Saintess!” the Demi-Goddess praised.

“Shall we all take a bath together?” I suggested.

“Yes!” “Meow!” “Mew!” “…”

The Demi-Goddess squatted down, looking troubled.

“…What should I do? A human is completely mastering divine powers. If the higher gods find out… this could be bad…”

“Demi-Goddess, aren’t you joining us for a bath?”

“Well, whatever! As the wise say, ‘If you don’t get caught, it’s not cheating!’ As long as no one finds out, it’s fine!”

Well, even if they did find out, I wouldn’t be the one getting scolded, so I didn’t press the issue further.
