Mountain Internet Saintess – Chapter 34

The next day.

Today’s lunch was a barbecue.

I enjoyed the delicious skewers prepared by Chef Carol.

“Woof~…””Wow~…””Meow…” ‘Phew… I can’t eat anymore…’

I had underestimated the appetites of the monster children. It seemed they were in a growth spurt, devouring a staggering amount of meat with incredible speed.

The Puppy Fenrir had grown to the size of a large dog, and the children of the Four Divine Beasts were also quite voracious.

“Your bellies are so round, you little ones.”

I gently patted the belly of Feruta, who was lying on his back. It was fluffy and squishy.

“Woof…♡”

Feruta proudly showed me his belly. As I scratched him, I glanced at the empty plates. The quantity of food consumed was nothing short of astonishing.

“I’m so sorry, Lady Mika.”

Felmaa (in her human form) looked apologetic, her shoulders slumping.

“These little ones have no sense of restraint…”
“Woof?” “Wow?”

Feruta and Feruco tilted their heads in confusion, as if asking what “restraint” meant.

Meanwhile, Ferumi bowed her head in apology. Though small in stature, she could eat just as much as Feruta and the others.

“They’re in their growth phase, after all.”

As I cleared away the empty plates, the pet sitter Fubuki chimed in.

“I keep telling them to show some restraint, but it seems that every dish you serve, Lady Mika, is just too delicious, and they can’t help but overindulge.”

“Felmaa, you feel the same way, don’t you? Well, I do too. I’ve become so accustomed to the master’s meals that I can’t live without them.”

Watching the fluffy ones eat so happily was soothing, so I didn’t mind too much.

“It’s fine, it’s fine. But… well, the food expenses are piling up…”

With the increase in my familiars, the cost of feeding them had risen significantly. Buying ingredients from KAMIZON required God Points.

Currently, the only way to earn points was by hunting monsters.

Lately, the points consumed for meals and those earned from hunting had been balancing out.

“As these little ones’ appetites grow day by day, at this rate, the points consumed might exceed the points earned.”
“Well, when that time comes, we’ll think of something then. So don’t make that face.”

I gently patted Felmaa’s head, who looked a bit downcast. The monster children gathered around, curious about what was happening.

While waiting for Felmaa to calm down, I decided to take care of the little ones.

“Let’s all go for a walk.”

“Woof woof!” “Wowww!” “Meow!” ‘Phew! Let’s gooo!’

I left Felmaa behind to watch over things and set off for a stroll with the monster children and Fubuki.

After a while…

“Everyone, you’re a bit too close…”

We had quite the entourage: two large dogs, one small dog, one cat, and one bird. They were all sticking to me like glue.

“Woof woof!” “Wow wow!”

Especially the large dog duo, Feruta and Feruco, were so big that they kept trying to hug me, making it difficult to walk.

They bounced around, charging at me with excitement. Well, my level was infinite, and my stats were also infinite, so I wouldn’t be knocked over by large dogs.

But… with everyone clinging and jumping around, it was quite hard to walk.

“Everyone, please back off a little. It’ll be hard to deal with any enemy monsters if they show up…”

Then Fubuki, who was walking beside me, spoke up.

“Enemy monsters won’t appear, you know?”

She said something intriguing.

“What do you mean?”
“The monsters that used to inhabit this mountain have all begun to avoid it, fearing the God that suddenly appeared.”

Fearing a God… wait, what?

“Are you talking about me?”
“Who else could it be…?”

Well, that made sense.

“Why would they fear me?”
“Because you have three Divine Beasts with you.”

I see… Akahane and the other Divine Beasts were indeed powerful monsters. The monsters of this mountain must have come to fear them.

Since I had God Protection, it wasn’t obvious that I was strong at first glance.

“Unless they’re exceptionally foolish, monsters won’t approach this mountain.”
“I see. But then, where does the Onion Brigade hunt for monsters?”

Just then, the Onion Brigade leader hopped onto my shoulder. He pointed dramatically in a direction.

In that direction… there was another mountain.

“Are they really going all the way to the neighboring mountain?”
“…” Nodding.

Because of me, the Onion Brigade had to venture to the neighboring mountain every time.

“Thank you for your hard work.”
“…” Blushing.

Even though I had increased my familiars and equipped them with a Legendary Weapon, the number of God Points I could earn hadn’t increased significantly.

It turned out that my familiars had to trek to the neighboring mountain each time.

“What’s wrong? Were you thinking about points?”
Fubuki, being clever, seemed to understand what I was pondering.

“I was just wondering if there was a more efficient way to earn points.”
“How about sending your familiars with Greater Teleportation?”

I see, a teleportation skill. That would allow us to jump straight to the neighboring mountain.

“Oh, but if I send them, they won’t be able to come back.”
“Then just have them walk back.”

“Hmm… it would be faster to teleport both ways, right?”
“Well, that’s true. But for that, the master would need to accompany them on every hunt.”

That was true.

Hmm… the ideal situation would be if the Onion Brigade could use teleportation themselves. That way, I could take it easy.

“That’s impossible. Greater Teleportation is a skill of the Gods. Only Gods can use it.”

As I walked, I searched for methods using Omniscience (Internet).

White Tiger’s Claw
→ Claws that sever all things
~~~~~~
This is it.
“Hakubyō.”
I lifted up the White Cat, who had been rubbing against my legs.
“I have a favor to ask.”
“Meow!” ‘【Sure! I’ll do anything for my beloved big sister!】’
Akahane translated the White Cat’s words for me.
“Thank you. Now, White Cat, I need your power.”
I cradled the White Cat in my arms.
“Use the skill White Tiger’s Claw to attack the space in front of you.”
“Meow!”
The White Cat spread its right paw. Its claws shone brightly, radiating like the sun.
“Meow!”
With a swift motion, the White Cat slashed at the empty space.
“W-What are you doing…? Attacking empty space like that?”
“Just watch. Fubuki, stay here.”
I used my teleportation skill to arrive at the neighboring mountain. I had the White Cat scratch at the empty space once more with White Tiger’s Claw.
A rift opened in the air. I reached my hand into the rift.
My hand sank in… Good, it seemed possible.
“Feruta and the others, wait here for a moment.”
Nodding, Feruta and the others obediently agreed. I glanced back, curious.
“Woof?” “Wow?”
The large Fenrirs were trying to follow me despite my instructions to wait.
I had told them to stay put…
Akahane and the White Cat also followed closely behind.
Ferumi, however, was sitting patiently, waiting.
“I’m sorry, Ferumi. You stay here.”
“…” Nodding.
Ferumi was so easy to manage.
“Alright… here we go.”
I stepped through the rift.
“Whoa!? M-Master!? W-Where did you come from!?”
Yes! Success.
“From the neighboring mountain.”
“W-What are you talking about?”
“A picture is worth a thousand words. Come along, Fubuki.”
And so, we all passed through the rift into the neighboring mountain where Ferumi was waiting.
“T-This is teleportation…!? Without using magic or skills!?”
Fubuki’s face was filled with astonishment.
“H-How did you teleport?”
“I used White Tiger’s Claw.”
“White Tiger’s Claw?”
“Yeah, it said it could sever all things. I figured it could cut through space too.”
I had connected the neighboring mountain to the mountain with the Dragon Vein by slicing through the space between them with White Tiger’s Claw.
“What’s wrong, Fubuki?”
Fubuki was sweating.
“Master… this is a Gate.”
“A Gate?”
“Yes… it’s a door imbued with teleportation power.”
“Oh, really? And what does that mean?”
“…The technology of the Gate was lost in ancient times, and it no longer exists in the modern era.”
“So… you mean I’ve revived a lost technology?”
“Indeed. The reason the technology was lost was that constructing the spell was exceedingly complex. Only one ancient sage was able to comprehend it.”
So, when that sage disappeared, the technology was lost.
“I don’t even understand this ‘spell’ or whatever. I just thought the White Cat might be able to do it.”
I lifted the White Cat again.
The White Cat wrapped her tail around my arm, seeking affection.
“Good girl, thank you, Hakubyō. I’ll give you some bonito flakes later,” I said.
“Meow~ ♡”
Meanwhile, Fubuki murmured to herself.
“To command multiple Gods and wield their powers with such perfection… This is something even the high God Morrigan cannot achieve…”
