It seemed that Mei-chan, the young spirit of the World Tree, was eagerly awaiting her new life with her sister.

So, before taking Mei-chan home, I needed to do something about the guardian’s laxity.
We returned to the Abyss Wood through an otherworldly passage.

The Tree King—a massive treant towering above us.
“Mika-sama, allow me to explain,” Luciel said, stepping in for me.
As she spoke, the color drained from the Tree King’s face (despite being a tree).
“Mei! I had no idea you were in such a dire situation!”
It seemed the Tree King was unaware of the circumstances (that Nidhogg’s poison had nearly killed Mei).
“I was almost dead! If Mama hadn’t been there, it would have been bad!”
“Now, now, Mei-chan. Calm down.”
I gently patted her head.
“Because Mama patted me, I’m okay now!”
It seemed Mei-chan was willing to forgive the Tree King. What a kind child.
“Your security is far too lax, and as a mother, I’m worried.”
“My apologies…”
“First of all, do you really think you can protect my adorable daughter with a mere level 350?”
“No, Mika-sama. I must insist, a level 350 is an extraordinary monster…”
Luciel defended the Tree King. Well, I suppose a three-digit level is quite impressive. But still…

Mokkun had evolved into a Dryad. However, the Tree King, his true form, remained rooted in place.
Mokkun was merely manifesting as the will of that tree.
“Feel free to attack that tree as you like.”
“Got it! Here we go!”
Feruta, the Flame God Fenrir, erupted in flames and charged forward.
“Feruta Climax Attack!”
“Stop with the fire! This is a forest, for crying out loud…!!!”
Luciel tried to intervene, but Feruta used the momentum from his fiery charge to slam into Mokkun’s true form.
Boom!
The tree caught fire… but instantly returned to its original state.
“Uh, what…? It’s not burning…?”
“Auto Reverse activated.”
Lisia-chan tilted her head in confusion.
“Isn’t that a power used by the Kieriou clan?”
“Exactly. I analyzed the demon’s ability through Hacking and granted it to Mokkun using my Omniscient and Omnipotent skill.”
Omnipotence allows me to bestow useful abilities upon my familiars. That Kieriou… um, I forgot which one it was (I’m not particularly interested; they all seem the same), but they used Auto Reverse.
I granted that ability to Mokkun, enabling him to use it.
“That’s amazing… to be able to utilize such a powerful ability from the demons!”
“You’re incredible, Mika!”
My daughter and friend were delighted. Mei-chan was fast asleep in Lisia-chan’s arms.
Mokkun had taken Feruta’s hit, died, and then revived.

Even as Luciel scolded him, Mokkun continued to take the hits. And he grew considerably stronger.
“Alright, I think that’s enough. Now it’s time for a test. I wonder if some demons will conveniently show up…?”
