Mountain Internet Saintess – Chapter 98

Luciel was summoned automatically.

“Who are you? Who are you?”

Puppy Fenrir sniffed at Luciel with a series of excited snorts.

“Um… well…”
“Who are you? Who are you?”

Feruco also joined in the sniffing. Luciel, caught between the massive Fenrirs, looked utterly bewildered.

“Mika… who is this Half-Elf?”
“Luciel. She’s my friend and a Lesser God. I kind of made her a god.”

“What!?”

With a sharp crack, Felmaa froze in place. I wondered what was going on. Well, it was fine; it would make things quieter.

“Who are you?”
“Who are you?”
“Ah, I am… Luciel. Nice to meet you.”

“Luciel! Nice to meet you! I’m Puppy Fenrir!”
“I’m Feruco! And that little one over there is Ferumi!”

Luciel stared wide-eyed at the Puppy Fenrirs.

“Um, um… Mika God, is it…?”

Luciel raised her hand nervously.
“What’s wrong?”
“These big dogs… could they possibly be… Fenrirs?”

“Uh, yeah.”
“What!? Four of them!?”

I wondered what she was so surprised about…

“I can’t believe it… Fenrirs are legendary beasts… and there are four of them gathered here, it’s a miracle…”
“These are the pups of the Fenrir family.”

“Pups!? But they’re all fully grown!?”
“No, the three over there were just born not long ago.”

They were born on the day I was exiled.

“Babies, huh?”
“B-babies!? Even though they’re this big!? What on earth…?”

“When I named them, they grew up.”
“That makes… no sense! What kind of logic is that!?”

Even if you ask for logic…

“See, when a higher monster names them, they become Named Monsters and power up, right?”
“Well… I’ve heard of that…”

“Exactly.”
“Which one!?”

“No, I mean, because I named them, they became Named and grew up…”
“That! That’s a monster’s rule, right!? When a monster names another monster, that’s what happens! Why does it happen when Mika God does it too!?”

“I don’t know either.”
“Why don’t you know something that’s about yourself!?”

Luciel shouted in frustration.
Puppy Fenrir wagged his tail and said, “Oh! Is it wrestling time?” as he pounced on Luciel.

“That’s heavy!”
“Wrestling time! Let’s go!”

Luciel, being a Lesser God, was able to lift the massive Fenrir with ease.

“If it’s wrestling, I want to join too!”

Feruco jumped in to join the playful chaos.

“Whoa!”

Luciel bent her body into a U-shape and was sent flying.

“Whoa! Wait, wait!”
“Next is tag! I won’t lose!”

Puppy Fenrir and Feruco chased after the flying Luciel. They were so energetic…

“Ah, my lord. You’ve saved me.”

Fubuki, the pet sitter, said with a smile.

“What?”
“That was your new sitter, right?”

Fubuki interpreted it that way.

“No.”
“Isn’t it? You made her a god to take care of the Divine Beasts, right?”

“Yeah. A lot happened outside, and it just turned out that way.”
“Turned her into a god just like that!? What does that even mean!?”

“I don’t know.”
“Here we go again!”

Oh, speaking of which… Fubuki is quite the straight man too. Maybe we can get along as fellow straight men.

“Hey, Puppy Fenrir! Bring Luciel over here!”

With a thunderous thud, Puppy Fenrir came bounding over, Luciel clamped in his mouth.

She already looked quite exhausted.

“I thought I’d introduce my friend, the pet sitter, Fubuki.”

Fubuki bowed her head politely.

“I’m Fubuki, nice to meet you.”
“Oh wow!”

As Luciel hopped down from Puppy Fenrir, she grasped Fubuki’s hand.

“You seem normal! Thank goodness! All I see around Mika God are monsters!”

Puppy Fenrir tilted his head in confusion.

“Who are the monsters?” “I wonder who she means?” “Well… brother and sister, you’re included in that too…”

Fubuki chuckled softly.

“I’m glad to have a normal one join us. My lord only has yes-men around.”
“I know, right? No one ever tells that person off! I’m so relieved there’s a normal person here.”

“Huh? I’m not a person.”
“Huh…? Then what are you, a beastman?”

Then Fubuki replied.

“No, I’m a Blizzard Dragon.”
“………………………………”

Luciel froze in shock.

“What’s wrong?”
“The… the Blizzard Dragon… the one that lives on Sapphire Silver Dragon Mountain… that terrifying… ancient dragon…?”

Oh… I guess that was the name of the mountain we were on.

“Oh, no, no.”
“Thank goodness it’s not that…”

“Fubuki is a nine-tailed fox monster that transformed into a Blizzard Dragon…”

“N-n-nine-tailed fox!?”

Luciel gasped again in surprise.

“W-what’s wrong, Luciel…?”
“Yikes! A monster!”

“Huh? A monster…? Where!?”
“You’re the monster! The Blizzard Dragon is the boss of the mountains near Dead End! It’s said to have frozen countless monsters to death!”

Fubuki…

“Oh, really? I didn’t know that.”
“What’s with that attitude!?”

“Well, Fubuki is Fubuki.”
“To think you have a Blizzard Dragon under your command…”

Just then, perhaps because of all the commotion, the other fluffy ones came over.

“What’s all this noise about?”
“…What’s going on?”
“Yip!”
“Oh my, more new friends?”

The daughters of the Four Divine Beasts arrived.

“W-who are these kids…?”
“The daughters of the Four Divine Beasts.”
“!?!!?!!?!!?!!?!!?!!?!!?!!?!!?!!?”

Huh…? Luciel’s eyes bulged out as if they might pop out of her head, and her jaw dropped in shock.

“Um… Luciel, what are you surprised about…?”

Then Luciel trembled as she pointed at the daughters.

“All of it!”

“Four Divine Beasts!? The gods of creation!?”
“Yeah.”

“And that over there is the legendary Divine Beast, Kirin!?”
“Yep.”

“And the one munching on grass is one of the Four Fiends, Kyuuki!?”
“Yep.”

Then I added…

“So… what’s the big deal?”

It’s a fact that these kids are the Four Divine Beasts, Divine Beasts, and Four Fiends. So what’s so surprising about that…?

“All of them! Legendary! Living creatures!”
“That’s right.”

“Why are legendary creatures all gathered here…!?”
“I don’t know, they just seem to gather around.”

The Four Divine Beasts and the Fenrirs snuggled up to me, nuzzling against me. Oh, so fluffy and warm.

“Are you emitting some kind of pheromone that attracts Divine Beasts…?”
“I don’t know.”

“With a skill called Omniscient and Omnipotent (Internet) that can look up anything, why don’t you check?”
“Well…”

“Why not?”
“I’m not interested.”

Sure, if I need information, I’ll use Omniscient and Omnipotent (Internet) to look it up. Like when fighting the Demon Race.

“If it’s not something I’m curious about, I don’t need to look it up. There’s no problem if I don’t.”

Upon hearing this, Luciel let out a big sigh…

“Is this how all gods are…? Morrigan was like this too…”

Well, I guess that might be true.

“Well, Luciel, you see…”
“Don’t come near me. You’re a monster too!”

Then Fubuki said.

“No, Luciel. Though you’re a Lesser God, you’re still a god. You’re not from the other side, are you?”

Luciel looked momentarily stunned…
But then she buried her head in her hands and screamed.

“I’m a monster too!?”
