My Dungeon My Life – Chapter 250

Makeshift Wolf Brigade II ②

The Sahagins we wiped out were quite a haul.
Mr. Agaro said as he dropped the Sahagin corpses into the waterfall basin.

“…Didn’t hear anything about Sahagins attacking.”
“This many is just a margin of error.”
“No way that’s true, though.”

By the way, Sahagins are inedible whether you roast or boil them.
There are no parts to harvest, and even if you bring back subjugation proof, it’s not worth a pittance.
And apparently, there are several types of such useless Dungeon Monsters.

“But they were small fry.”
“Well, yeah, but…”
“Is something wrong?”

I asked the two of them. Mr. Agaro scratched his cheek.

“Wof. You. What do you make of this Sahagin swarm?”
“I think perhaps the workers and their escorts were attacked.”

With a swarm this large, they wouldn’t have escaped unharmed if attacked.

“Yeah, but they’re not the type to be taken out by something like this.”
“Are their escorts a Party?”
“That’s right. A group of four. The Tier III ‘Tartarus Gate’.”

That’s quite an impressive Party name.
Tier III, so the same as ‘Torquetum’, huh?

I know there are several Tier III Parties.
But I’m not familiar with them. I don’t know much about Tier IV or Tier II Parties either.

“Hmm. Anyway, shouldn’t we head to the ruins?”
“Yes, let’s.”
“Um, wof. Yes.”
“Why did you just bark?”
“Wafu?”

There’s no point just standing around here.
We entered the ruins.

There was nothing inside the ruins. Surprisingly, absolutely nothing.
Moreover, the ground was just dirt.
It felt like a magnificent papier-mâché facade, all exterior and no substance.

“What is this? Such shoddy work. It’s really anticlimactic.”

Narcissus-san was disappointed.
Mr. Agaro said, as if used to it.

“They probably don’t faithfully reproduce artificial structures, I guess.”

Artificial structures in Dungeons are reproductions of things that originally existed on the surface.
But they aren’t perfectly reproduced.
Still, the interior feels like a lazily designed open-world game.

“Um, um, um, Mr. Agaro. Where are we heading?”
“There was something like a dome, right? That’s where.”

Just then, countless red dots appeared on my [Danger Detection], coming from the depths of the ruins.
Also, I’d been using [Wheel of Fortune] just in case, and I saw a yellow light.
Moreover, it overlapped with the red dots. The enemy has something. Anyway.

“Enemies!”
“Excellent.”
“Sahagins again?”
“I can’t tell that much.”

[Danger Detection] can only detect danger. The details of the red dots are unknown.

“Um, um, I sense enemies.”

The depths were dark and unclear. I aimed an Orb of Light.

“That thing really is convenient.”
“Hayyarn will be selling them as a product soon.”
“What! I absolutely have to buy one then!”
“Na!”

No, Dagaa doesn’t need to buy one.

“Do you want this Orb of Light that much?”

Narcissus-san tilted her head.

“Well, as a Seeker… that’s not something a First Class Seeker would say.”

That’s a bit late to point out.
Illuminating a little further into the depths, I could see something moving.

What’s this? Slowly approaching on two legs were… Seeker… zombies.
Rotted flesh and Bone were visible on parts of their faces and bodies. There was a rotten smell.
There were more than ten of them, shuffling along. Again?

“Ughhh.”

Narcissus-san groaned.
Juicy-san made a disgusted face, nocked an arrow, and drew her bow.
The tip of the arrow was faintly glowing.

I asked Mr. Agaro something difficult to ask.

“Are there any acquaintances among them?”
“Don’t recognize any, but I can’t check all of them, obviously.”

I drew Flame Tongue.

“I’ll take them down.”
“Yeah, that’s fine.”
“Um, um, um, I’ll shoot!”
“Go ahead.”
“Can you even defeat Undead with arrows?”
“No need to worry.”

The arrow Juicy-san loosed struck the female Seeker zombie in front.
In that instant, the female Seeker zombie vanished with a flash of light.

“What was that?!”
“Um, wof. It’s an Elixir Bow.”
“Elixir…?”
“Well, it’s specialized against Undead.”
“Hmm. Well, whatever.”

Narcissus-san transformed [Vanish] into a mace.
It was a translucent, spiky, vicious-looking thing.
Could her Relic be… That’s right. I took a small vial from my pouch.

I applied it to my thick, slightly curved kukri Knife.
The kukri Knife turned pure white. Now I had a Knife specialized against Undead.

Juicy-san took down several, and Narcissus-san engaged the enemy.
The [Vanish] mace made the zombies disappear.

Mr. Agaro heated Flame Tongue into a heat sword and burned through the zombies.
Its power was outstanding. The only drawback was the smell of burning, rotting flesh.

It looked like they’d finish before any reached me, but I was curious about the zombie with the yellow light.
I readied my Elixir Kukri Knife and started slashing at the zombies in front.

They were purified from where I cut them.
Still, this really is overkill. The zombie horde will be finished in a few more.
Well, with two First Class Seekers here, that’s to be expected.

Furthermore, there are two people with [Pseudo-Deification Relics].
Mr. Agaro can transform into that form, and I wonder what Narcissus-san’s is.

I suddenly remembered there was a Party consisting only of First Class Seekers like The Witch and Alexander-san.
There are Monsters that even a gathering of First Class Seekers would struggle against, or even be brought to the brink of death by.

Treasury-class—those above them are even called gods due to their overwhelming strength and presence.
It’s not that gods are Treasury-class Monsters.
Ah, but if Lady Goddess of Knives were called a Treasury-class Monster, I’d probably nod in agreement.

As a result, The Witch, like me, changed the world just a little.
Even now, someone might be changing the world just a little.

“This is the end. Finishing blow!”

Narcissus-san crushed the head of a large man zombie holding a Greatsword with her [Vanish] mace.
Ah, that’s the one. When the large man zombie fell, a yellow light spilled out.

“Finished cleaning up?”
“It’s boring if they come one by one, but a large number is good for killing time.”

Narcissus-san muttered a comment like something out of a Musou game.
In reality, this entire expedition is probably just a way for her to kill time.
Her way of thinking is truly like that of a god’s Reappearance.

“Um, um, um, wof! I feel refreshed too!”

Juicy-san agreed.
Her ears and Tail were wagging excitedly. Like my family dog after a walk, maybe.

“Why did you bark just now?”
“Wafu?”

I picked up the thing that dropped from the large man zombie.
Mr. Agaro looked down at the large man zombie’s face and tilted his head.

“Is he an acquaintance?”
“…Yeah, an acquaintance, or rather… This guy’s the boss of a bandit group. See the burn scar on his face? I’m the one who gave him that. Why the hell is he a zombie in a place like this?”

I heard he’d inflicted a fatal wound, but the man escaped, and several years have passed since.
There’s apparently a considerable bounty on him too. I looked at the thing I picked up.

The object emitting the yellow light was a small, silver rectangle.
It felt metallic.

“What’s that?”
“An accessory… perhaps?”

It wasn’t entirely unlike one.
But it vaguely resembled a memory stick from my past life’s memories.
Oh well. I’ll keep it. Mr. Agaro muttered while tilting his head.

“…Why is this guy here… Are they… alright?”
“Were your acquaintances among the zombies?”
“I checked, but it was just this guy.”
“Hey, aren’t we going ahead?”
“Right.”

After that, we fought several more zombies and Sahagins.
What was a little strange was that the Sahagins and zombies were hostile to each other.

Well, it didn’t change the fact that both were enemies. We fought them off like that and safely reached the dome.
The dome was a semicircular space with only a pedestal. On the pedestal was a familiar-looking console.

“Um, um, it resembles the Lab.”
“Yeah. It looks like Hayarn’s place.”
“Lab? Hayarn?”

So Narcissus-san didn’t know.
Oh well. I stood on the pedestal and touched the console. A window popped up.
I somehow understood it. Memories from my past life? I tried operating it.

“Hmm, hmm. Doesn’t seem to be any abnormalities.”

No errors or malfunctions. The purification system and water storage are normal.
Mr. Agaro asked.

“Hey. You understand that?”
“Because I’ve been learning at Hayyarn’s place.”

I lied. Mr. Agaro seemed convinced by that and nodded.

“Wof. You even understand things like this.”
“Um, um, um, as expected of Lord Wof!”
“Na!”

I get embarrassed when praised. Even though it’s thanks to these vague memories from my past life.
But I wonder what era these ruins are from. Are they the same as Hayyarn’s Lab?

Suddenly, I found a slot on the pedestal. The thing I picked up earlier seemed like it would fit.
So it is a memory stick. I’ll try inserting it.

Another window appeared, displaying some kind of drawing… no, a map.
Where could it be? The map had red circles and X’s on it.

“This is a treasure map.”

I thought Narcissus-san’s assertion was indeed correct.
