Day 4: Going Out
Log-in Day 4
I used up all my saved GP on yesterday’s crafting, so third time’s the charm. I’ve decided today’s the day I’ll finally go outside.
To be honest, there’s a limit to the types of materials I can use at this stage, and I was getting a bit tired of being a shut-in crafter. So, for a change of pace, on my fourth day of playing, it’s time for my first outing~!
However, as I opened the door and stepped out, my viewpoint was suddenly forced upwards.
It was the first time that happened, so I was a little surprised. It seemed to be a game mechanic.
A large shadow fell across my vision, which was showing the roof and the sky. A giant flying… ship?
“It’s an airship!”
“It’s the circus!”
“The Yufaz Circus is here!”
Along with those voices, children ran off, chasing the ship.
Grand orchestral BGM resounded, and fireworks shot up from the ship.
Then, a large number of flyers were scattered about. I caught one of the falling flyers and looked at it. A large headline danced across it: “Yufaz Circus Performances Start Tomorrow!”
Eventually, as the ship moved further away, the music faded out, and the usual, everyday-ish BGM returned.
What was that just now? It was a beautiful and dramatic cutscene, just like a movie opening.
While I was spacing out, a “pikon!” sound played, and the Guild app icon appeared. It seemed there was an update.
I opened it to check, and the types of missions had increased. One was [World Mission], and the other was [Special Mission].
It seemed World Missions were unlocked by going outside, and they could be completed by visiting various places. There were items like “・Let’s try going to the Restin Guild Headquarters” and “・Let’s try going outside the city.”
Then, the Special Missions seemed to be related to a limited-time event starting today and lasting for a week. There were items like “・Let’s get a circus ticket” and “・Let’s tailor clothes for a circus member.”
The rewards for these were a bit special; instead of GP, it was “SGP.” I wonder if that means Special Guild Points?
That cutscene from earlier was probably something like the event’s opening.
I wondered if there was any information in the admin announcements. Thinking that, I opened the system panel, and just as I expected, there was an event notice.
“World Event [The Arrival of the Yufaz Circus Troupe] will be held starting April 28th at 14:00!”
“Clear missions and collect Special Guild Points! SGP can be exchanged for various Items. There are also event-exclusive Items, so don’t forget to check them out.”
“Furthermore, many secret missions are also prepared. Deepen your interactions with the circus members and find the hidden missions!”
That was the gist of it.
Hmm, it sounds kind of fun. But for a complete beginner like me, it seems a bit out of my league.
Maybe I should focus on going to various places and gathering materials first. I’ll deal with the event if I happen to encounter it; for now, I’ll prioritize getting used to the game.
Alright then, I’ll start with the first World Mission: “・Let’s try going to the Restin Guild Headquarters.”
Restin, true to its name as the capital of the “Fortress Nation,” has the image of a citadel city centered around a castle. There are clusters of factory-like chimneys and airships flying about, giving it a somewhat steampunk feel.
And there are many giant towers built here. It seems my home isn’t an independent building but is incorporated as part of a large tower.
There aren’t many clear, open spaces, but there are lots of small plazas, which serve as resting places for people or play areas for children.
There are also a ton of stairs. Since it’s a virtual space, I can proceed without getting tired, but if this were a real city, it would probably be tough to live here until you got used to it.
By the way, I’m currently in Semi-Active Mode. In this mode, I’m online, can sense the presence of other players, and can communicate to some extent using stamps and such, but voice chat with other players is mutually disabled, and physical contact is impossible.
Since it’s an MMO, I want to feel the presence of other people, but I’m not interested in making friends. This mode is perfect for someone like me.
Unless I feel the need, I plan to stay in this mode for the time being.
While displaying the map, I went around to notable places like the Guild, the library, the central street bustling with various shops, the Fountain Plaza in front of the royal castle, and the airport where airships dock.
Unfortunately, it seems you can’t enter the library or the castle without a Permit.
At the Guild, I received an invitation to join a clan, but I declined.
Those are player communities, right? As someone who wants to live a carefree solo life, I don’t plan on joining unless something really special comes up.
I also happened to find the circus troupe’s tent. People who looked like members were struggling to set up the tent or practicing their performances, which was cute.
As expected, there were many onlookers like me, but it wasn’t so crowded that you couldn’t move freely. I thought the central spot would be crazy because it’s an event period, so it was a bit anticlimactic.
I heard later that during events like this, they further divide the servers for places where congestion is expected to ensure the game’s comfort isn’t lost.
In addition, when talking to NPCs and such, it seems you’re forcibly transitioned into something called an individual event mode, which prevents long queues of players forming for a single NPC.
Indeed, there was a phenomenon where players would disappear one after another at a certain point. I was wondering if everyone was logging out in succession, but that was probably the moment they entered individual mode.
Walking around like this, I couldn’t help but realize that the place where my shop is located seems to be quite remote. It was incredibly quiet, with hardly any foot traffic.
There were a few other shop-like signs around besides mine, but I suspect those are player shops run by people who, like me, just started the game.
To attract more customers, I guess I’d either have to move to a busier location or liven up the area myself.
Though, the latter seems unlikely. Other players are probably thinking the same thing and will eventually move, so it’s even more so.
But well, a shop in a deserted place has its own kind of charm, doesn’t it~.
Just strolling around like this is fun in itself.
The townscape is elaborate and exciting, and observing the people passing by is also interesting.
I could do this forever. There are lots of people in cute outfits too.
Then it hit me: I’d been wearing the same clothes I chose during character creation this whole time.
It’s not like they’re uncool, but they are rather common. It wouldn’t be good for a Tailor, even a supposed one, to stay like this forever, right?
Maybe I should make it my goal to sort out my own clothes first.
For that, I need materials, and by extension, money. And preferably, money that can be obtained at no cost.
Alright, tomorrow I’ll go outside the city and do some gathering.

Sad news: Lil-sama has no appearance.
All of me cried.
[Takenaka]
Well, even for a popular character, she was favored too much last time and the time before.
But I believe there’s a secret hidden.
[Retima]
Do the usual members ever get involved in secrets?
The announcement says to investigate the troupe members, though.
[Panfesta]
It’s rare, but it happens often.
But the strategy team is amazing.
That guy who guessed the offering for Princess Ferke back then, I can’t believe he was sane.
[Ma Yu]
Did he try every single Item he owned, from one end to the other?
[Yuuhei]
That was Chon, lololol
[Panfesta]
Eh? Seriously? (;´・ω・)
For a corporate slave, how much free time does he have?
Isn’t he pouring all his time at home into Kima-Kura?
[Chon]
Anyone playing Kima-Kura is bound to have free time, right?
Also, saying “all types” is an exaggeration.
I hit the jackpot around the 200th Item.
I figured there wouldn’t be an event harder than that, so I gave up there.
[Yoshio www]
To be able to show up at this timing, you’re a real free person, lololol
Aren’t you a NEET pretending to be a corporate slave? lololol
Are you watching the room 24/7? lololol
[Takenaka]
Hey, you’ve got a boomerang stuck in your back.
[Inkya_desu]
yuka
If you’re a production class, you should gather Soda.
Crystal Mist is also event-exclusive, so it’s high priority.
If information about Star Crystals comes out, it’s top priority.
[yuka]
Inkya_desu-san, thank you very much.
For now, I’ll gather Soda and Crystals.
[Momo Tarou]
To put it nicely, it means it’s well-crafted, but the admins here tend to force unreasonable games on users, don’t they?
I always think they should at least tell us how many secrets they’ve hidden.
[Milan]
Wasn’t Magdala selling Kiri-Ketsu?
[Yuuhei]
That’s Death Mist, isn’t it?
[Miran]
Oh, you’re right…
I’ve been deceived…
[Panfesta]
Chon
Repeating that grind 200 times? Aren’t you a total degenerate?
[Chon]
Kima-Kura. Kima-Kura while watching a stream. Makes brain-dead grinding go way smoother, yo.
[Sasa]
Not another event favoring Mikoto, Ryuuria, and Giltoa? Seriously, this is an otome game.
[Zoeberu]
Wake me up the moment you find an event for Ciel-sama.
[Rinrin]
Then you’ll be sleeping forever.
