Reincarnated as My Game Character – Chapter 6

Chapter 6: I Come Up With a Certain Revenge Method

Apparently, I’d been staring at my own Stats screen for a whole two hours.

To be honest, I could stare at my current Stats screen for hours and not get bored; I could probably look at it for days. Those were the Stats I’d been gazing at.

Two hours must have flown by in an instant.

And hearing my Younger brother’s vulgar laughter must mean it’s time for breakfast.

What should I do?

Breakfast undoubtedly means my family—my parents and Younger brother—will be gathered in the dining room.

In that case, perhaps it’s a good idea to vent all my pent-up frustration using the sheer power of these Stats. Being utterly crushed by someone they’d always looked down on and verbally abused… that would surely be humiliating in its own way. There’s no longer any need to endure humiliation, just holding out until they get bored.

Just as I thought that and reached for the doorknob, a question crossed my mind. Am I really going to settle all the humiliation I’ve suffered up till now in this single moment? Isn’t there another way?

Certainly, if I went to vent all my built-up frustration on them right now, it would undoubtedly be an enjoyable time, and my family’s—especially my Younger brother’s—pride should be torn to shreds. However, to put it another way, that’s all it would be. They wouldn’t suffer any real disadvantages beyond their pride being broken, and furthermore, that enjoyable moment would be over in an instant.

If I’m going to do it anyway, making that enjoyable time last longer and dealing them greater damage would surely be more satisfying.

And then, as I came up with a certain revenge method, I gently released my hand from the doorknob.

If I recall correctly, tomorrow, during the day off, a Party is supposed to be held in this house’s garden, starting while the sun is still high, as a debut for my Younger brother inheriting the Dukedom. And the plan is for me to have a mock battle with my Younger brother there. By having him win, a performance is scheduled to demonstrate that he, not I, his Older Brother, is the one more suitable to inherit the Dukedom.

Of course, initially, I had absolutely no intention of playing along with such a performance. However, my father, Edward, told me—with eyes that looked upon me as if I were a stray dog, saying things he clearly didn’t mean—’I will choose the winner of this mock battle as the successor. Of course, if you win, you will become the official successor to our Dukedom, the Quist Family. For a failure like you, this is a golden opportunity, wouldn’t you say? I’m extending this much help even to a failure like you, so don’t you dare entertain foolish thoughts like being absent, understand?’ Since he went to all that trouble, I suppose I might as well make an appearance.

In the first place, the fact that they give my Younger brother a Magic Wand bought with a fortune and a slender sword, while providing me only with a Magic Wand meant for toddlers and a wooden sword, makes it perfectly clear that my father’s words are a lie.
