“I’ve been through quite the ordeal.”
After the mock battle with Carlos-san, I ended up being forced into mock battles with the other guards of the Sandfelds House.
And after that, joint training with Kalinka-san.
As if we could coordinate right away just because they told us to work on combinations.
Then, in the evening, the Sandfelds House party left, and I was finally released.
“Well, it’s alright for now, I suppose.”
It’s been decided that I’ll be dragged along whenever our Young Lady and Lady Evelyn are active as Adventurer companions.
Though, the number of times shouldn’t be too high.
“Because a Dance teacher has been decided on.”
The teacher to teach the Young Lady Dance, whom I had asked them to find before, has finally been decided. Even though she managed to clear the class assignments, the Young Lady’s Dance is still at a clumsy level.
It seems there will be more social gatherings in the future, so Dance Lessons are essential. The Young Lady’s private time is going to be drastically reduced.
“More importantly than that, the development here has progressed!”
I’m currently inside the Hakoniwa. I locked my room and connected the entrance there. Just in case, I’ve made the Hakoniwa entrance as small as possible to make it inconspicuous.
When I enter the Hakoniwa, the lights that were off start to turn on one after another. They’re usually off to save power.
Since the Magic Core generates electricity, I charge the Magic Core with Magical Power. For now, there are plenty of spare Magic Cores, and I can replenish it with my own Magical Power, but it’s clear that it will become difficult as the number of facilities increases.
Eventually, I want to install a Magical Power Charging Device outside the Hakoniwa, but it’s hard to find a place that’s both rich in Magical Power and safe. Or rather, I don’t have time to go looking for one.
Before I knew it, there were 50 Drones. If there are no more facilities to create, I might have too many, but I can change their programs and have them do other jobs, and if there are still too many, I can just toss them into the Spatial Storage.
“First, disassembly and aging… meat management Drones, huh.”
There are just so many corpses of Monsters. There are even some from the Unified Space Force era.
“Well, there are no Space Dolphins or Space Squid, though. They’re too big to fit in the Spatial Storage.”
They’re Monsters that lived in the space domain. The pollution is so bad that you can’t eat them. If you decontaminate them and remove the Poison, you can eat them, but even then, it’s only at the level of ‘edible,’ not ‘delicious food.’
“I just took out the Magic Stones and tossed them away, huh.”
Both are Monsters that are several kilograms in size. Normally, Drones programmed for disassembly in the space domain would cut out the necessary parts, and then only the necessary parts would be put into the decontamination device.
By the way, after decontamination, the Squid’s beak and suckers, and the Dolphin’s teeth, skin, and bones would become materials. I have them, but I don’t have any use for them right now.
“…In the first place, there’s no decontamination facility.”
Since they’re both huge, a decontamination facility of a corresponding size is needed. The Magic Stones from each are also huge, and it’s appealing that they can be processed into Magic Cores used in space battleships. But still, I have no use for them. If I were to use them, it would be to make Barrier Stones the size of those that protect cities?
“Well, I’ll do what I can within my capabilities.”
I’ll place six Drones reprogrammed for disassembly in the disassembly area. I’ll also place two Drones reprogrammed with a dedicated program in the aging area, and two each in the normal storage, the frozen storage, and the special and hazardous materials storage.
“I want to separate the work Drones and the cleaning Drones. Should I add more Drones?”
I immediately give the Drones reprogrammed for disassembly work. They just need to pile up the Monster corpses in the waiting-for-disassembly area. If I put out too many, the disassembly won’t keep up, and they’ll start to rot, so I’ll just put out about a hundred small ones for now.
The Drones lift the corpses and move the Monsters to the workbench space. There, they scan the Monsters and thoroughly investigate their internal structure.
Furthermore, the disassembly program has disassembly methods for over a trillion types of creatures installed. It searches for the optimal disassembly method from these vast amounts of data, carefully disassembling and minimizing the parts to be disposed of as much as possible.
Even the parts that become unnecessary are used as fertilizer, so basically, there are no parts of the Monster that are thrown away.
“I want to be able to use fertilizer too, huh.”
Fertilizer made from the leftover parts of Monsters contains plenty of magical elements, so it improves the taste of ordinary crops. Well, if you give too much, the crops might turn into Monsters, so be careful not to overdo it.
However, I’m not currently making a Farm Area itself. I’m putting it off because I need to divide the area with enclosures and put in soil. I don’t have just plain soil in the Spatial Storage, after all. I have some rocks, though.
Next, I headed to the test range. It’s a place to test weapons.
Before becoming the captain of a Unified Space Force battleship, I had many front-line duties, so I handled various weapons.
But compared to then, my body is smaller, and the length of my limbs is different. My muscle strength is also completely different.
The maximum value of my Magical Power has increased considerably, so there are parts where I’m superior to back then, but most of the weapons I used in the Unified Space Force era were supplied items. In other words, they’re weapons made so that anyone can use them, so the amount of Magical Power doesn’t make a big difference.
The only advantages of having high Magical Power are the difference in the number of reloads or being able to use some special weapons.
“For now, a handgun, huh.”
Slug TCC-06 and 07. There are handguns from other manufacturers, but it’s best to use these since there are the most of them.
I hold the Slug TCC-06 and aim it at the target. Its effective range is about 55 meters, but it’s not a weapon you use at that distance. I put a target about 15 meters away and pulled the trigger.
I shot the face, shoulder, center of the body, and heart, respectively. After firing 21 shots, I exchanged the magazine and shot again.
As expected, shooting continuously puts a strain on my arms and shoulders. A child’s body is troublesome.
“I should clean it too.”
I hadn’t maintained the Slug TCC-06 since I used it in the Black Forest.
Unlike the gunpowder-based guns that were used in the past, it hardly gets dirty, so there’s not much need for maintenance, but it lasts longer and feels better if you clean it occasionally.
It’ll clean it up if I put it in the cleaner after separating it into parts.
“Well then, next in the meantime.”
Handguns were often equipped for VIP protection missions, but the weapon I used the most on missions was the assault rifle.
The assault rifles I have on hand are the Slug AS900 and SGS-08A, of which there are two types.
The SGS-08A was often used in indoor battles and forests, while the Slug AS900 was often used in outdoor battles.
The Slug AS900 was superior in power and range, so I preferred it.
“This one will be tougher, huh.”
The recoil is stronger because of the higher power. However, the Slug AS900 is probably the one I’ll take out in a hurry. I should test this one thoroughly.
“The target should be placed 100 meters away for now.”
Unlike handguns, assault rifles are overwhelmingly superior in terms of rate of fire, continuous fire, range, and power. The manufacturer’s stated effective range is 500 meters, and it has a scope, so you can aim accurately even at that distance.
Well, you can attach a scope to a handgun as an option, but I don’t like it because it gets heavy.
“Then… first, single shot.”
I lower the changeover switch near the trigger to single-shot mode. I shoot while looking through the scope!
It’s quite a bit off from the aim.
“It’s quite a bit off. Display the monitor.”
The figure of me holding the gun is displayed on the monitor. The moment I shot is played back in slow motion, and I can see that my body is being pushed back quite a bit.
“That’s terrible.”
It’s me, but I’m giving in to the recoil too much.
“Should I increase the load of Overweight Magic? But if I increase it too much, it won’t be good for my body’s growth.”
It’s a difficult point. I’ve been applying a load with Overweight Magic since I was little to the extent that it doesn’t burden my body, but I’m not applying it too heavily considering the burden on my body.
“Should I increase it only when I shoot? But I might not be able to move quickly with a weight I’m not used to.”
Shooting a gun means being in combat. Naturally, there are times when you need to move on the spur of the moment. I can’t let Overweight Magic hold me back at such times.
“For now, I’ll just brace myself.”
It’s a primitive but sure solution.
Also, I should change my shoes. I really want to wear military boots, but right now I’m wearing the shoes that came with the Knight Uniform.
It’s unified for no reason, so wearing something different would stand out. I wonder if I should just replace the non-slip part.
If this much shake occurs even with the Slug AS900, sniper rifles and Magic Launchers would be terrible.
The Magic Launcher, in particular, could cause significant damage if it went astray. I could handle it in the Black Forest because I had deactivated Overweight Magic and enhanced my physical abilities, but with the Magic Launcher, any accident could lead to self-destruction.
After deactivating Overweight Magic and increasing the magnification of my physical enhancement magic, I was able to use it properly in both single-shot and rapid-fire modes.
“But it gives me muscle soreness, so I don’t like it.”
Using physical enhancement for extended periods or drastically increasing the enhancement magnification results in muscle soreness. I’d prefer to be able to use them without relying on this.
After that, I tested my handheld Sniper Rifle, “Gourai X,” and the Magic Launcher, “Fable Line-of-Sight Guidance Launcher M2.”
As expected, they were difficult to use normally, and I could only use them after deactivating Overweight Magic and enhancing my physical abilities.
When I fired the M2, I thought my shoulder had dislocated.
