Episode 45: Launch
“Recapturing the Town and Establishing a New Base”
““““Cheers!”””
We defeated all the Green Bloods, erected a barrier to secure the town’s safety. Perhaps because it was Goblin territory, the monsters in the forest were weak, making it easier than expected to deal with them.
Of course, some insect-type monsters still remain, but there’s no end to that, so we’ll use insect repellent as a countermeasure.
I’m really happy that we secured a location that’s wider than expected and perfect for building a Magical Power Charging Device.
Since we’re here, I plan to develop this place and make it my base.
“Delicious! What is this liquor!?”
“The food is also delicious!”
“Hahaha! This beer with suppressed bitterness is delicious even for a childish palate!”
The alcohol content is also moderate!
“However, what do you intend to do with such a large area?”
“Well, I’ll create an expanded version of the facilities currently in the Hakoniwa, and on a larger scale. I also want a farm. The top priorities are the Magical Power Charging Device and power generator, followed by the Magic Core production workshop and food-related processing plants and storage.”
“Further expansion of those facilities… it’s already on a scale surpassing a nation.”
“Hasn’t our master’s power already been proven to exceed that of a nation? It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say you brought down the Green Bloods’ nation.”
“I didn’t think I’d be asked for a literal massacre.”
“Some escaped, so it wasn’t a massacre.”
On the large table are fried monster meat Karaage, cutlets, spring rolls, sausages, and cut steaks.
Salads are served on large plates, and the giant soybeans we found in the forest the other day are offered as sliced rounds boiled with salt.
We tear off pieces of the soft white bread baked in the container house and try various side dishes.
We’ve prepared not only beer but also wine and liqueurs. Both Barbatos and Beatrice are engrossed.
“Even though it can be stored in the Spatial Storage, I think it’s a bit much…”
“Yeah, I agree it’s a lot. Cleaning up will be a pain.”
Behind me is the open entrance to the Hakoniwa. Drones are popping out from there.
I’m using heavy machinery from the Spatial Storage to clear away rubble and Goblin remains, but… the area is so vast that I don’t know how long it will take without deploying a considerable number of Support Drones.
Therefore, drones are making drones inside my Hakoniwa. They’re lined up, popping out – these are the newly created drones. The plan is to create 1,500 of them.
We’re not letting them operate near us while we’re eating, but there are drones driving heavy machinery to gather rubble, drones feeding the gathered rubble into a machine called a recycler to transform it into sturdy, long-lasting blocks, drones collecting the corpses of Goblins and the monsters they kept to extract Magic Stones and turn the meat into fertilizer, and so on. They’re busily moving around in this darkness.
“No human can handle this many Golems.”
“More like drones, not Golems.”
“Come to think of it, these fellows… they seem to understand our words recently, don’t they?”
“To some extent. They’re still in the learning phase.”
Our language and Earth Common Tongue are different, so until now, the drones followed my instructions in Earth Common Tongue.
However, Barbatos and Beatrice speak the language of this planet.
We communicate with them using illustrations, emoticons, and videos, but they also pick up and analyze the spoken words, learning from them. Sometimes they come to me to ask for a summary of the meaning.
However, it’s just the words. They can’t learn the writing.
“Still, this scene is…”
“Yes, it’s an outrageous situation.”
Right now, we’re moving to level everything. Because the drones are doing it, it will literally be flat.
“More importantly, are you two really not going back? Are you sure?”
“Of course. We have decided to stay with our master.”
“Yes. I am prepared.”
“…Well, I can’t force you anymore, so I’ll give up.”
Their level of enhancement is too high, and they’ve become stronger than me… After getting used to their bodies and going through several battles, they’ve become completely untouchable.
“Until Claffy-sama returns, we will investigate the surrounding area and collect monsters.”
“We cannot assist with the expansion of the facilities. We will investigate as much as we can within our capabilities.”
“Please be really careful when using firearms…”
Barbatos took a liking to Raven Claw 9, and Beatrice to ES-66. They decided to carry them around. Beatrice, especially with ES-66, be careful, it’s dangerous! They’re also carrying SB Lances.
I’ve given them Magic Bags, so they also have healing sprays and portable food, and I’ve given them a sufficient number of Magic Cores for reloading. Well, they’ll have to recharge the Magical Power they use themselves.
There are a lot of over-the-top technological things, so I’ve revealed that I’m a reincarnated person. I don’t know how much they understand.
“You can leave the facilities to me.”
“To think you can even handle the town’s layout. Our master’s talents are diverse.”
“No, there’s a manual for base construction. Fortunately, there’s a lot of rubble, so we don’t have to bring much from elsewhere.”
If we were to build a base from scratch, there might be a shortage of materials, so I used the recycler to turn the rubble into blocks. The exteriors of all the facilities are made using those blocks.
There’s still a literal mountain of rubble, so we have plenty to spare. Once the construction of the high-priority facilities is finished, I plan to build outer walls as well.
The area we’ve secured is quite large. There are still many empty spaces in the base construction plan. I’ll build a farm, but what else should I do?
The Monster Ward Barrier is strong, but not invincible. That’s why it’s better to have outer walls as well. After all, this area is outside the human living area known as the Black Forest.
“I’ll try the Communicator when I get back, but I don’t know if it will work.”
“Understood. We will await your contact.”
“A Magic Item that allows communication with people far away. Wonderful.”
“If there were a relay satellite, it would definitely reach, but I wonder.”
However, there are probably no other radio waves in this world, so the only factors hindering communication should be the weather or terrain. Well, there are also monsters that sometimes affect communication.
If it doesn’t work, I plan to erect a barrier on top of a mountain and build a radio tower. If that still doesn’t work, I’ll give up. I can’t launch a satellite, and I can’t manage a relay base even if I build one.
