Reincarnated Captain Hunter’s Child – Chapter 82

“Place the Barrier Stone here, and have the Drones create a wall in the back… the Lord’s Manor will be here. And a moat and walls.”
“A castle wall, you mean.”
“Well, the name doesn’t really matter.”

The forest between the Town of Solva and the base is where the Adventurers of Solva make their living. Even though there are tunnels that restrict passage by cutting through the mountains, problems could arise if people move around freely.
So, we’ll build a wall before entering the forest and manage who goes in and out. There will be complaints at first, but we’ll also set up a system where members of the Knights Order can enter the forest as a rescue team, so help can arrive if something happens.
Using the Recycler to create blocks won’t keep up with the work, so I’ve already instructed them to make a large number of blocks in advance. I plan to operate a considerable number of Support Drones as well.
We’ll assemble the wall, the Lord’s Manor, the Knights Order’s station, the infirmary, and other facilities all at once.

“And then there’s attracting the Adventurer’s Guild, or rather, relocating it.”
“They agreed to it surprisingly easily, didn’t they?”
“Having Iserina-san speak to them was a big help, though.”

I asked Barbatos and Iserina-san to request the Adventurer’s Guild to move to the new administrative area we plan to build in front of the forest.
Normally, it’s not something that can be easily moved, but most of the requests concentrated in the Solva Adventurer’s Guild are for collecting Monster Material from this forest.
Telling them that we would provide the building might have been a big factor.

“And the Dungeon. I never imagined you could create a Dungeon artificially.”
“Ah, well, normally you’d conquer a Dungeon and then use it.”

Let’s just say it’s a difference in technological capabilities.
The Unified Space Force also manages and operates Dungeons. There were even places where an entire planet was a Dungeon.
It’s simply a training ground for soldiers and a place to collect resources. There’s no way the military would leave such a favorable Dungeon untouched.
Starting with the analysis of Dungeon Cores, they’ve gone through all sorts of experiments, including improvements, degradations, refinements, and modifications, to develop the know-how for management and operation.
The fact that they can artificially create Dungeon Cores in the first place is insane. Originally, it’s supposed to be caused by natural disasters on a planet.

“Basic Dungeon攻略 simulation MAPs… well, super-beginner and beginner, and a farming MAP.”

The advanced level is really too advanced for most people. And the intermediate level is also difficult in this world with its low Magic Item processing technology.
The Dungeon Core is managed with Magic Items. Well, it’s more like a computer. That’s how it’s done.
It already contains data for several Dungeons, so you can create a new Dungeon right away by using that.
Of course, the types of Monsters are different. Or rather, there’s even data for Monsters that don’t normally exist on this planet, so I have to rearrange that.
Anyway, I plan to prepare a super-beginner MAP where you can learn Dungeon攻略, a beginner MAP where you can properly perform 攻略 in a practical format, and a separate farming MAP where you can earn money by defeating Monsters and getting drops.
For the farming MAP, I plan to place Iron Oni series Monsters that drop metals that can’t be obtained in the forest.
Iron Oni-type Monsters have bodies made of iron or steel, which leads to weapon consumption. It’s a wonderful Monster that can force a cycle of taking weapon materials and making people buy weapons.
I guess I’ll also leave some Unicorns around, which are the source of expensive medicines. They’re fast, good at hiding, and strong, so they won’t be easily defeated. Adventurers dreaming of striking it rich will come, and expensive medicines will attract the wealthy.

“We can get money from Adventurers just from the Dungeon usage fees! And we can squeeze money out of the Adventurer’s Guild!”
“Ho, ho, ho, ho, I understand, but keep your mouth shut.”
“Oops.”

I plan to make the Adventurer’s Guild pay for the forest usage fee. It’s under the guise of collectively paying the passage tax that occurs when checking entry and exit from the forest.
There are quite a few Adventurers who don’t even have daily expenses, so the Guild will pay for them collectively.
It’s a silent tax increase.

“And then there are the slaves…”

If possible, I want to secure people to become serfs here. I want to manage farmland in the territory in case of crop failures due to bad weather. I also want to be able to secure things for the base.
The new Barrier is planned to be placed near the forest, so the land is quite open since it hasn’t been developed yet. There’s fertilizer, so all that’s left is labor.
However, I also want someone who can lead a large number of people. I wonder if anyone will raise their hand.

“Slaves? Aren’t you against that?”
“Honestly, I don’t want to use them, but it’s more troublesome to break the existing system.”

I mentioned it before, but a system where people who can wield weapons and use magic are slaves is dangerous. The risk of rebellion is naturally high. But since it’s already rooted in the social system, it would take considerable effort and time to eliminate it.
Frankly, it’s a huge pain.
So, we’ll use it too. If there are slaves who can fight rampant, then we just need to prepare more slaves than that. That way, we can resist even if a rebellion occurs. It’s not a very pleasant thing to do, though.

“In reality, they’re just labor and defense force.”
“I don’t really like using such people to protect the territory and its people.”
“From a Knight’s perspective, that’s understandable. But battles are basically about numbers.”

There are nearly a hundred slaves working on the largest farm in our territory. We have to consider what would happen if they suddenly went on a rampage under the orders of their master.
So, we’ll secure more slaves than that and have them manage the farmland in the same way. Slaves who can fight in case of emergency.
Barbatos, Beatrice, the Onmitsu, and the warriors can certainly fight back. But the fact that there are twice as many people is more of a deterrent than having individually strong people.
I need to secure a budget for that. Beatrice should be earning that money by dealing with the Thief gangs right now.

“You’re starting to look like a Lord.”
“…Ah!?”

I just accepted it normally!
