Returnee of the Seventh Academy – Chapter 257

Episode 76: Romantic All Over the World!
◇◇◇◇

The next morning, Kazuma woke up in a bed for the first time in a while.
He sluggishly got out of bed, and still stark naked, headed towards the large veranda, flinging open the curtains with both hands.
And then, the morning sun shone on the naked Kazuma, his entire body faintly glowing.

“The world is beautiful…”

He was immersed in sentimentality, but today was the final day of the training camp.
That said, there was nothing to do.
In truth, this training camp also had an aspect of being a reward for the graduating student council members.
It was like a thank-you party for the students who had worked hard for one, two, or even three years.
Kazuma had done most of it for his own sake, but in terms of results, he was the greatest contributor.

“I’m hungry. Has the breakfast buffet started yet?”

When he checked the time, it indicated 6 o’clock.
The breakfast buffet started at 5, so it was probably a good time.
Kazuma quickly got dressed, lightly washed his face, and headed to the venue where the buffet was being held.

It was early in the morning, but there were a fair number of people, and the venue was bustling.
When Kazuma showed up, the students in the venue greeted him with nods or waves, welcoming him warmly.

“Ooh!”

Kazuma let out an impressed voice at the lavish spread of food, which was no less impressive than the banquet the other day.
If breakfast was this luxurious every morning, it would be the best feeling.
Of course, this was something a five-star hotel could do, and it would be utterly impossible for an individual.

“Alright!”

It was high-calorie for the morning, but Kazuma’s amount of exercise was tremendous, and so was his calorie consumption.
To begin with, because he trained, his basal metabolism was much higher than an ordinary person’s, so Kazuma’s food intake was about twice that of an adult male.

“Time to eat!”

Kazuma, who politely put his hands together, wolfed down the food and finished it all in about ten-odd minutes.
Though not full, Kazuma was satisfied and checked the schedule for today, the final day of the training camp.
The morning was free time, with a BBQ on the beach for lunch.
From the afternoon until dinner was free time, and as for the end, Kazuma hadn’t been told anything.
He guessed they were probably planning a surprise for the graduates.
Kazuma decided to spend his morning free time playing at the beach and returned to his room.

“…Still early, huh.”

Checking the time, it was just past 7 o’clock.
It was probably the time when most students would be waking up, but some might still be sleeping.
Kazuma wanted to invite Souji and Hayato to hang out, but he was considerate that they might still be having breakfast or sleeping, so he headed to the beach alone.

“Yahooooo~~~!”

Kazuma was full of energy, even though it wasn’t even 8 in the morning.
He was frolicking all by himself on Glittering Beach, sparkling in the morning sun.
The students who were out for a walk watched Kazuma with warm smiles.
Occasionally, they were so surprised to see him dashing over the sea that their eyes nearly popped out, but since it was Kazuma, they tried not to think too deeply about it.

“Whoooaaaaaaa!”

Kazuma, letting out strange cries while dashing across the ocean surface.
If ordinary tourists were present, they would undoubtedly doubt their eyes, but right now, only people related to Kazuma were in Hawaii.
Therefore, even seeing Kazuma dashing across the ocean surface, the students didn’t find it strange at all.

“Getting a bit bored… I’ll go ask if I can rent a jet ski!”

Kazuma, enjoying Hawaii to the fullest even by himself, was quite something.
Kazuma returned to the hotel in his swim trunks and asked if he could rent a jet ski.
Normally, they would refuse to rent to a minor, but since it was Kazuma, the rental company gladly lent him one.

“Thanks a bunch!”
“I’ll teach you how to operate it, just in case~”
“Okay~”

Kazuma, having learned how to operate the jet ski, became the wind.
He sped across the water’s surface as if tearing through it, weaving like a snake.

“Uwoooooooooh! I am the wind! A gust of wiiiiind!”

In the end, he mishandled the steering, was thrown from the jet ski, flew through the air, and slammed into the ocean surface.
After playing with the jet ski to his heart’s content, he returned it to the rental company and started sunbathing on the sandy beach.
As the scorching sun tanned Kazuma’s skin, Souji and the others appeared on the beach.

“Yo, Kazuma. What are you doing?”
“Mornin’, Souji-senpai! I was just sunbathing!”
“Kazuma-kun, you’re so energetic in the morning~”
“Hayato-senpai, you look a bit sleepy. Did you stay up late?”
“Well, a little.”
“Is sunbathing okay? I heard Hawaii’s UV rays are stronger than Japan’s.”
“Seriously?! And Taiga-senpai’s here too, that’s rare.”

Kazuma had been enjoying his sunbathing, but hearing Taiga’s words, he hurriedly sat up.
However, he had already been basking in the sun for hours since arriving in Hawaii, so it was too late now.

“Still, you’ve been playing in Hawaii for three days now, so isn’t it a bit late for that?”
“Souji’s right. It’s not something to worry about now.”
“You’re right. I think you two are correct. Satsuki, it’s already too late.”
“I wanted to get a healthy tan and play AV actor…”

The three of them were exasperated with Kazuma, who was contemplating such a silly game.

“Anyway, what should we do until the BBQ? Go sightseeing?”
“Yes, yes! I have something I want to do!”
“Rejected.”
“Why?! Please explain, Hayato-senpai!”
“It’s something stupid, isn’t it? Hayato-senpai rejected it because he knew that.”
“It’s not good to deny it from the start without even hearing it!”
“Then, what is it you want to do?”

Reluctantly, Souji asked, figuring he might as well hear Kazuma’s idea.

“Fufufu! I’m glad you asked! Let’s do this!”

Saying that, Kazuma took out his smartphone and showed a certain video to the three of them.
Watching the video, the three of them looked at each other.

“What do you think? It looks surprisingly fun.”
“Hmm… I don’t think it’s something to do under this scorching sun, though.”
“I’ll leave it up to you two.”
“Well, it might be just right for a final student memory.”
“Ah, that’s true. Can’t be helped. Shall we give it a shot?”

And so, the impromptu band proposed by Kazuma was formed.
Kazuma had already arranged for the hotel staff to prepare the equipment, so preparations were quickly completed, and a live concert was held on Waikiki Beach.

“Yeaaaaaaah!”
“You’re too prepared…”
“People are gathering.”
“I wonder if I can do it…”

Kazuma on guitar and vocals, Souji on drums, Hayato on bass, and Taiga on guitar.
They were a four-person impromptu band.
Taiga, who had joined the usual members, had never played guitar before and wasn’t confident he could perform, but since Kazuma was apparently going to try his best by just winging it and imitating what he saw, he decided to give it a try.

“We can do it with spirit and energy! Alright then, music start!”
“Alright, alright.”
“Let’s do our best~”
“O-Okay! I’m ready whenever!”

Before they knew it, the number of spectators had increased, and most of the students had gathered on the beach.
In addition to the supervising teachers, VIPs also arrived, and the situation escalated into something extraordinary.
Souji and the others, who hadn’t expected VIPs like prime ministers and presidents to come watch, froze up with nervousness, but Kazuma, the star of the show, let out a shout as if to electrify the concert venue.

“Listen to my songggg!!!”

Kazuma, who had completely ripped off a famous line, started playing the guitar.
He played with a skill that was unbelievable for someone who had only watched the video once, stunning everyone present.
The song he was singing was a famous anime song.
Kazuma’s playing was skillful, but his singing was only slightly better than an amateur’s; however, he sang joyfully, and it was enough to get the audience excited.

Affected by Kazuma’s enthusiasm, Souji and the others also started playing, determined not to be outdone.
They were all amateurs who had never even touched an instrument, but strangely, it became music.
Souji and the others simply played along with Kazuma, playing their instruments as they had seen in the video.
From a professional’s perspective, it would surely look completely haphazard and crude, but at least for this moment, they were the best band.

“Phew…! Well, well, well! Everyone, did you enjoy yourselves?”

When Kazuma finished singing and asked the audience, calls for an encore came back.
Kazuma, who hadn’t expected an encore, widened his eyes in surprise, but he quickly put on his usual confident smile.

“Alright! In response to everyone’s encore, let’s do one more song~!”
“Hey, hey! That last one took everything we had! Another song is just impossible!”

They had managed to get through the previous song because they had prepared by watching the video.
However, the next song was completely out of the question.
Souji raised his voice and objected to Kazuma.

“It’s alright. Everyone, please gather ’round for a bit.”

Kazuma gathered the members and, lowering his voice so the audience couldn’t hear, shared a certain plan.

“You don’t have to play anymore. I’ll play the sound source from my smartphone, so you guys just air guitar.”
“Seriously? You want us to pretend we’re playing?”
“I was absorbed in it before, but this time I feel like I’ll be nervous in a different way.”
“H-How should we do the performance and stuff?”
“The vibe is all that matters for that! For now, I’m hooking up my phone to the speaker, so just wing the rest, alright!”

Kazuma connected his phone to the speaker and played an anime song that matched the venue’s atmosphere.
Kazuma played the opening theme of a rom-com style anime—a crossover between yakuza and mermaids—and hyped up the venue with an air guitar performance.

“Everyone, let’s dance together!”

On a giant screen that had been set up before anyone noticed, the opening video of the anime song Kazuma was singing along to was displayed.
Kazuma performed the dance shown in the video, and the highly energized audience members also started dancing along.
As one might expect, the more mature adults mostly just watched without dancing, but there were some among them who were enthusiastically getting into the groove.
And so, until the BBQ began, Kazuma and the others sang, danced, and partied boisterously.
