Rogue Prince – Chapter 200

“Well, hello there.”
“Eh!? P-Prince Harold!”

Upon arriving at the Royal Palace and offering such a carefree greeting, the guards were utterly astonished.
It’s rude, considering I lived here until a year ago, and was even here just a few hours ago.

“Umm, I was summoned by His Majesty the King.”
“P-Please, come right in!”

And so, even with Sandra wearing armor and carrying ‘Balmung,’ we were granted free passage inside. I’d like to suggest a review of the Royal Palace’s security.

“How will King Aival come out?”
“I don’t know, but that man will surely try to pin the blame on the Chevalier family. Even in that letter, I was portrayed as a hostage.”

It’s so underhanded it’s laughable, but that just means King Aival is out of options, which conversely means we’re in a superior position.
Plus, having secured the support of the Barthian Holy Kingdom and the Capetien Kingdom, the kingdom has no choice but to back down.

All that’s left is to make him understand that.

“Sandra, Monica. I swear I will protect you both. So, you two, please protect me.”
“Fufu! Thank you very much! To be protected and needed by the one I love, I feel like I’m ascending to heaven!”
“I see. Does Prince Harold desire a concubine? Well, I don’t mind at all.”

Sandra’s eyes are dyed a blood-red, filled with madness as she rejoices wildly.
Meanwhile, what is Monica even saying? When did I ever bring up such a thing?

Well, whatever.
Just looking at these two reliable women makes me feel like I can do anything.

And then.

“Harold Wel Dehauvalz. By royal command, I have arrived.”
“Eh!?”

Throwing open the doors to the throne room, I announced myself loudly.
He probably never expected me to arrive so soon. King Aival, seated on his throne, is wide-eyed.

Also, judging from the fact that the Chancellor and Minister Olson are surrounding King Aival, they must have been vehemently protesting about the letter addressed to Duke Chevalier.
If this continues, he’ll truly be abandoned by talented individuals, and even his throne will be in danger, but I doubt he realizes it.

“So, what’s this about me being held hostage by Duke Chevalier? He sent me off so readily.”
“M-Muu…”

There’s no way he can answer that. It’s just a convenient excuse to crush the Chevalier family.
Of course, I won’t let that happen.

“B-But! Alexandra there is carrying a sword! That is proof of her intention to rebel against me!”
“Surely not. Besides, from the moment we entered the Royal Palace until we arrived here, no one questioned her. Doesn’t that mean Sandra’s carrying of a sword was acknowledged?”
“N-Nu! You’re just spouting sophistry…!”

No, no, it’s not sophistry, it’s all facts.
If you want to corner someone, you should prepare more thoroughly. This is far too impromptu.

“So… what will you do? Will the kingdom engage in battle with the Chevalier family without any just cause?”
“Ugu…!”
“Your Majesty! Please, you must not do that!”
“If you do such a thing, you will lose the trust of the nobles, and the kingdom will fall apart!”

As expected, the Chancellor and Minister Olson understand.
The fate of this kingdom if King Aival commits such an outrage.

“I’ll add that you shouldn’t rely on the Royal Guard. The Royal Guard serves the kingdom, not the king.”
“Nuu…!”

Anticipating this, I spoke with Lord Drake and secured a promise that the Royal Guard would not participate in the subjugation of the Chevalier family.
If the Royal Guard, the kingdom’s elite force, doesn’t move, the kingdom’s army itself will be restrained.

That’s how significant Bradley Drake’s presence is in the kingdom’s army.

Now… what to do?
Will he fight the Chevalier family according to the ‘EnHaza’ Scenario, or will he give up on progressing through the tutorial scenario?

If he follows the Scenario faithfully, that’s when the kingdom will end.
That means sacrificing all of the subsequent ‘EnHaza’ Scenarios.

“Your Majesty.”
“…I have no more use for you. Get out of my sight.”
“Excuse me.”

Accepting King Aival’s words, spat out as if to discard us, Sandra and I gave a sarcastic, respectful bow and started to leave the throne room… but stopped.

“Ah, that’s right.”
“Eh!?”
“The Barthian Holy Kingdom and the Capetien Kingdom have declared their support for me and the Chevalier family.”

Leaving those words behind, we finally left the room.
