Rogue Prince – Chapter 227

“Ah… finally, I can go back to the Royal Capital…”

Inside the carriage heading back to the Royal Capital after leaving the Magic Tower, I muttered in a listless voice.
Well, that clears the “Tower of the Broken Lovelorn Doll” scenario. I’m never getting involved in the main Engage Hazard scenario again.

“Lord Hal, you must be tired. Please, rest your head on my lap.”
“Thank you, Sandra.”

So, I’m having Sandra give me a lap pillow and completely relaxing.
Sure, her chest might be small, but her thighs are nice and plump, so it feels great.

“By the way, I wonder if that junk is doing its job properly.”
“Ah, haha…”

The “junk” Sandra is referring to is, of course, Lyra.
On the way back, she’s been tasked with keeping an eye on McLaren, who’s tied up in the back of the carriage.

Apparently, the Mana Doll Lyra doesn’t need to eat or sleep, and only needs to be supplied with Mana about once a week.
However, each charge requires a value of 100 Mana, and securing that much requires draining Mana from quite a few people.

…My Mana, or rather, SP, is at 999, though.
And I’ve recently noticed that even though I’m using SP to transform Caz into the Jet-Black Shield Caspary, it doesn’t seem to be decreasing…

According to Sandra and the others, they feel quite fatigued if their Mana decreases even a little… but unfortunately, I’ve never felt that.

In any case, it feels like I was destined to become Lyra’s Master.

“Changing the subject, what do you intend to do with that trash, Prince Harold?”
“It’s decided. After having that man make another one of those things, he will receive the appropriate punishment.”

“That thing” refers to the Magic Tool I found on the top floor of the Magic Tower.
After questioning McLaren, I found out that it was an incredible item for me.

However, that Magic Tool is useless to other people, and even detrimental, so McLaren left it as a failed product.

The fact that such an item doesn’t appear in Engage Hazard suggests that it might have been a scrapped idea from the developers.

Ah, as for McLaren’s punishment, of course, death is the only option, but the process leading up to it will be different from the norm.
After all, I intend to inflict pain on him that would make even hell seem lukewarm.

“After that, if we make it look like Owen’s achievement, there’s nothing more for us to do… geh.”
“Ehh… ‘geh’? That’s mean…”

Sandra and the others had disappeared at some point, and I was now using Yuri’s lap as a pillow. No, even if it feels good, I refuse to have a man’s lap pillow.

“Seriously, you’ve twisted fate again this time…”
“Ah…”

What Yuri is talking about is probably saving Lyra.
In Engage Hazard, she was destined to die.

“But this just proves that the God (Placeholder) you talk about is unreliable, right? I’m going to keep destroying fate from now on.”
“Haha♪ How reliable.”

Even as he said that, Yuri had a complicated expression on his face.
I wonder where his true feelings lie, but he probably wouldn’t tell me even if I asked. Maybe the God (Placeholder) is listening to our conversation.

“But, is it okay? What you did was helping Owen, right? That doesn’t benefit you, and in the end, it’s all going to be Owen’s achievement…”
“I know. That’s what I intended from the start.”
“Eh…?”

The moment I decided to clear the “Tower of the Broken Lovelorn Doll” scenario with Owen, I had no intention of competing with that guy. I’m not the Harold from Engage Hazard.

“But, but, surely King Aival will spread the rumor that ‘Third Prince Harold challenged Fourth Prince Owen and was easily defeated’?”
“Probably.”
“‘Probably’…”

Yuri doesn’t seem convinced, but as I’ve said many times, I have no intention of participating in the Succession Dispute.
So, I don’t care what kind of evaluation I receive. As long as Sandra and my Precious Things don’t abandon me, that’s enough.

So.

“Then let me ask you, Yuri, if King Aival spread such lies, would you abandon me?”
“Hmph! Of course not! I would never do such a thing…”

After raising his voice, Yuri looked away with an embarrassed expression.
See? You think so too, don’t you?

“Then I’m fine with it.”
“…Hal, you’re unfair.”
“Am I? …Huh? I’m suddenly getting sleepy…”

Maybe I’m tired because of everything that’s happened.
Normally, sleeping on a man’s lap would be a punishment game, but this time I have no choice, so I’ll borrow your lap as it is…

With Yuri’s wry smile as the last thing I saw, I slowly closed my eyes as if falling into a doze.
